  1. DamoSuzuki - Well hopefully your view is not the one shared by most fans as without Sky British Speedway is in another mess It's strange how people are very quick to criticise the coverage but am sure many of the same people will be the ones that complain when it's disappears of Sky
  2. Colin Pratt lives in Norfolk now so suspect that they were looking at old Cradley pictures
  3. Have you considered that the Coventry promotion have requested a delay to their season so that fixtures don't start until May to enable track work to be done
  4. As has been posted by Richard Lawson tonight there will be more info for Leicester fans and EL clubs tomorrow about who is running and on which night. Now this has all been confirmed I expect the first Lions signing to be announced very soon with another to follow shortly after.
  5. VOLTY/Mick- Thé lease is signed therefore Leicester are confirmed as operating if you go back over my comments I said the track work is going ahead and that negotiations are still ongoing about the work and who pays what. This is partly due to obviously the work being permanent and the promotion having a 15 year lease and also some of the work actually involves stadium infrastructure e.g lighting may need changing and what happens to centre after the work is it grassed again or tarmac
  6. StevetheLion - Yes that is Kevin Blunder Thrift I will never forget the nights he jack knife the tractor and bowser in the middle of the track and also drove into the start gate we are going to need some luck although I expect that Buster will do most of the preparations and in the event of poor weather will be the one to sort it out. I am sad to see Glyn go as a nice bloke with some ideas and always tried his best to sort the track, To be honest I think if it had been anyone else than Buster buying Leicester then Glyn would still be there.
  7. I am Sorry if my comment has been taken in the wrong context the deal for the running of Speedway at Leicester this season and for the for the next few years is done and completed. I believe there are clauses in there from both sides but they will remain between the two parties but are all good for the operation of Speedway. As i said before the track changes will happen and is just a case of confirming the work and start date, The promotion know it's important and that what riders & fans want/need at the end of the day it's their business and money so they need to make it a success which I am sure they will do.
  8. Robert72 - Mr Hemsley is no longer pulling the strings at Leicester with the Speedway operation he is just the stadium owner and I understand relationship with the new promotion is good and positive talks have been had about track changes it's just case on ironing out the financials of the work as the promotion feel that DH should pay towards it as his stadium
  9. I believe today could be an important day for the Bees future as they need to provide a guarantee to BSPA that they will be operating in 2017 and I don't think they will accept them on the basis that if the work is completed in time. The club has to be fair to other clubs to arrange fixtures especially with such a busy international fixture list and also trying to fit in with Championship to avoid clashes. It is also only fair to the signed riders to guarantee them a job as if not other clubs have shown interest.
  10. Don't worry changes have been made and things will be different at Leicester in 2017. I can assure all the DH haters that he is not involved with the Speedway any longer Dave Darcy will look after the club on a day to day basis supported by Buster Chapman who simply does not have the time to run another club as well as be chair of BSPA.
  11. I am pretty sure you will find a couple of new faces running the Lions and Buster will not be alone with this team.
  12. All being well looks like this may get completed before Christmas and I am looking forward to the press release about the new promotion team and their plans for the future. After this I am sure the signings will follow and fans can look forward to the new season
  13. GlennyLion- The promotion has been sorted and at least two riders have agreed deals with the Lions for 2017, So nothing to worry about Lions fans you will still get your regular racing and an improved track to hopefully improve racing
  14. jchapman I know just the person to run and relaunch Leicester, It has to be someone that knows the sport inside and out lots of experience, sensible with money and can prepare a good track
  15. I can confirm Sky sports schedules for March are not being worked on yet for the start of the Speedway season and won't be for another 7-8 weeks yet
  16. With regards to floodlights being removed from Brandon I would not be surprised as Sandu did install around 20 new floodlights when he started dog racing again so they are not needed now
  17. Yes i am sure Buster will get the track sorted for Leicester and hopefully it will help improve racing
  18. The bits quoted above about committees and resignations is all to do with Leicester Speedway supporters club and has nothing to do with the operation of the club. Mr A Joyce wanted to be chairman and he had backing to do so, some members didn't agree with this so resigned from their positions
  19. DC2 Yes Rye House are running some Saturday's as I am sure Leicester will and have not signed any Polish riders or extraliga stars. What they have yet not experienced is the Saturday night syndrome from other clubs where clubs with the above type of riders refuse to come, This is something that Leicester were not expecting and thought they would get the BSPA backing but it didn't happen. Another advantage RH have is they are able to start earlier and very close to Stansted and Luton so riders can be in their hotels for 10:30 where as after Leicester matches sometimes it could be 1am and then up at 4
  20. No the fixture list is not out yet in U.K. But the Poles have said when their league is starting and that they will not be running fixtures the day after Cardiff or Easter Sunday so my theory is based upon that. With a new promotion hopefully they will not be so against bank holidays as DH I personally would like to see a double header with Coventry on one of these
  21. That is different to what DH has said previously and what the council have said in that midweek meetings are ok as long as they are not all in the week. Not all meetings will be in the week anyway as there will be 4 before Polish league starts and maybe two more
  22. Big Al I can fully appreciate what you are saying about some of the mistakes that DH has made. But the council in all honesty aren't interested in a lot of the errors like track shape, falling out with people and arrogance as long as he pays his lease and business tax they see it as another advantage to the local area. Some of the conditions that Mr Hemsley is supposedly imposing on the new promotions is out of his hands like race night to the best of my knowledge the planning conditions do not allow to change away from weekend race night for all meetings
  23. Kye 1- Leicester city council know very well that they have made an error in not putting the stipulation and conditions that Beaumont sports were responsible to build all of the sports complex. All that Beaumont sports are legally responsible for is the stadium and the even the council have not kept their part of the pavilion development. On the original plans the council were going to have lease on a room in the pavilion to use for the local community events like parent and toddler sessions and residents meetings yet now they will not commit to this. I am sure that Mr Hemsley will see common sense and offer favourable conditions to new Speedway tenants as if it's empty he is not making any money and has invested a lot of his own money into the stadium and paying off the loans that he took out.
  24. Beaumont sports own the lease and the fixtures/fittings of the stadium. This company is financially solvent and up to date with payments for the stadium operations, Leicester city council have no reason or purpose to revoke the lease as there is very little they can do with the land as it cannot be used for housing or industrial units so have no use for it so may as well leave as it is currently with Beaumont sports. They would also not want the expense of a legal case and which of course could uncover other things on initial planning on the stadium without any guarantees other than the Speedway highlighting possible failure of council officials. Mr Hemsley knows all of this and that in the small print of the agreement there is nothing to say that he would build the sports village just that he would assist the development which he has done by inviting companies to tender to build alternative sport attractions.
  25. The BSPA would come to an agreement with them or any other individual about keeping them as company or personal assets. Otherwise the whole rider asset system in Speedway would be flawed so no clubs could ask for loan fees and all become free agents.
