Leicester V Poole Monday 25/05/15
flagrag replied to SteveLyric2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The riders explanation I heard is this afternoon he felt that he wasn't ready for a return to team racing and wants more practice time. Everything is in place for him to ride good deal,Equipment, support and open practice whenever he wants. My belief taking his history into consideration is the rider in question went out last night had a few drinks and decided that he wasn't going to ride today as why would you only decide late afternoon on day of meeting when he should have been well on his way to Leicester at that point. -

Masters can't ride Monday as in GP qualifier so believe the team is not declared until Tues so RR for Bjarne on Monday -
Lewis has had a practice at Leicester this season on borrowed equipment to see how he felt and whether he wanted to ride again. At the minute that is all there is maybe he will return soon maybe he won't.

Leicester V Coventry 9th May 2015
flagrag replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Bjarne definitely did not quit 5 weeks ago although he did raise some doubts about riding in the UK but nothing to say he was quitting in 5 weeks. Hopefully the signings will all work and Leicester can try to get off the bottom of the Elite league -

Bjarne let the club down badly with performances and his attitude as well he packed up and sent his kit home early in the week but yet only informed the club of his decision on Friday. If all goes to plan there will be two new names for the next meeting one of which may be a surprise to some the other I think most will know. -

With all the riders missing and the problem in getting guests for Leicester I would not be surprised if this meeting gets called off early in the day if it's wet at all. As the club will be making team changes and cannot take another thrashing at home especially against Coventry just have to wait and see -
As long as he is still in the team Bjarne is due to be at Leicester on Saturday against Coventry. Based on his Danish final result last season he is a seeded rider straight to the final but Mikkelson and Anderson are both in the qualifier and Auty is riding for Scunthorpe. But Leicester have first call on S Lambert and Coventry on King I fully expect Rory Schlein to be guesting for somebody

I heard that Gino was going to have a practice at Leicester today and see how he feels. I know he has been in Leicester today helping the club promote the sport with his bikes and dressed in his Kevlars at Leicester City's football match -
Speedy69 I have a feeling that you could be right about Pederson not being in the UK much longer and can see him withdrawing his services. Although not really for this thread I can see a return to British speedway of s controversial rider for Leicester

Leicester V Coventry Emb 15 03 2015 12:00 Start

I understand that Hans was very fair and calm about the situation he was already over here when it happened and there was nothing he do about it over here so did P&P then gone home to his family this morning -
Don't worry there is plans to add at least one more meeting in to the opening few weeks, As far as I know it's just waiting on clubs to check stadium and rider availability. As others have said there is also some concern about the early weeks of the season with the weather hopefully there will be more meetings later in the year for the race to the Playoffs. The scheduling is not helped by the GP as there is a few weeks ruled out altogether as they have back to back GPs its been agreed not to run during these weeks and obviously lose a couple of weeks with WTC

I am not sure if Garrity can join Glasgow or not as I thought there was a ruling that elite league clubs were not able to have both fast track riders from the same premier league team. This was to prevent clubs having to have two guests at reserve Obviously James Sargeant is already signed up at Glasgow & Coventry

Sponsoring Speedway is a good way of ReadyPower using their advirtising budget as well as providing good tax benefits. In comparison if they were to have say a 2.5min tv advert you would look at around £2500 to film and produce budget style upto around £7-10k for HD quality pro version. Then if you said around £5-6000 a time for a slot during Sky Speedway coverage you can see you won't get much for your money on tv adverts. Also ReadyPower biggest customers are the rail infrastructure companies there is some big projects to be done in the next few years with High Speed2,Midland mainline electrification and West Country so they may be looking at a new South West depot too

Peterborough have signed Lambert but it's not Robert it's Simon that will be a panther in 2015
-
Yes Sissis is a very good signing and as long as he can stay fit I believe he could go all the way. I remember last time he was riding over here before he signed for Red Bull moto team he was very good and is a natural on a bike.
-
Sissis looked very good round Sheffield a few years ago before his Moto GP career. He would in my view be a very good signing and would not be surprised to see him in the elite league as well. It will be interesting to see how he gets on in the Aussie season and whether he still has the style and skill of before at one point he looked like he could be better than Darcy Ward and think he can be a solid rider
-
I am sure Lambert never expected Leicester to pick him especially considering the riders available and that he has been there before and was never over impressive.
-
No Leicester are not changing their race night but will be trying to avoid GP weeks to keep Doyle and so teams come at full Strength. I have heard that Simon Lambert was not very happy to be picked by Leicester in the draft as had agreed a deal with Workington for 2015 which he can no longer honour.

Scb Statement Regarding Coventry And Cradley
flagrag replied to Agrotron's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Oh dear I hope that they did not do a collection at Monmore to pay the fines as this is against SCB regulations no collections allowed or for clubs to pay them. -
I too have a feeling that Sheffield will be in the elite league in 2015 with Steady and bates at reserve. I hear as well that the lighting is being upgraded at Owlerton in the winter to make it better for Live TV have a look next Tuesday at the Greyjounds and you will see what I mean
