Well with all this bad taste created by one sillyperson Mr Burton hopefully the club will see sense and remove him from his official position as a steward. It will be interesting to see if he still comes to watch the Lions when he has to pay to come in I somehow doubt he will.

Live Match Streaming For Armchair Fans?
flagrag replied to heathen chemistry's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
On a basic level this could be done very easily at little cost for the person filming it and at no cost for viewers. It could even be done for free using Periscope app I know some clubs did some testing but could not be taken any further as was deemed to conflict with the Go Speed & Sky sports deal -
TMW No the only lighting that Sky bring is for the studio and for pit interviews track lighting is provided by the club
-
TMW The required lighting level for Speedway on Sky is ideally 2000 Lux but due to multi use of most stadiums most are around 1500 but Leicester especially on bend 3 and 4 drops down to around 600-800 last time it was measured. It would cost the club probably around 5-7k to upgrade the lighting its a shame that they do not have regular use of centre green for Football or Rugby as would then have to be made better
-
As I have said before Leicester can only be featured on Sky at home during the height of the summer when we have the longest days. The track lighting is not up to the required standards for TV broadcasting and the promotion are aware of this but cannot justify new lighting for at best 2 or 3 meetings a year. Sky were offered a Poole and Kings Lynn home Lions match in the run up to play offs but declined due to lighting If Leicester had been involved in the Play offs then additional lighting would have to be brought in but this obviously has high costs. With the team that Leicester are currently looking at putting out I think it may well just be the one visit again in 2016

Incognito That is interesting that you should mention Polish riders as I have been hearing this week that Leicester have offered very attractive terms to another Polish rider with GP experience to lead the team could be a gamble but they are desperate
-
Big Al The problem with all those riders listed there is doubling up their Premier league clubs would get priority nearly every time. So you could you could sign Stead and Barker but they would have to miss so many meetings for example Leicester would have to go to Swindon and Kings Lynn twice without Stead then you have at least 7 Friday meetings where you have to hope that Barker or Stead are not at Edinburgh,Somerset,Plymouth or possibly Glasgow on some weeks. This is why Leicester should have proceeded to go ahead and buy Sam Masters as they agreed last season as then Leicester would have had priority it's another case of the club not sticking to their word I remember last season them saying about bringing Sam in and that he was being signed as an asset as a rider for the future
-
As it seems to be a rider that is committed to ride Danish league on Wednesdays hence the possible change of race night I have a feeling that the rider in question could be Mikkel Mikelson as it seems that he may be interested in the Elite league again.
-
So Walasek has been confirmed as returning to Leicester and the club are hopeful on another signing soon
-
Another problem at Leicester is the council if the club closes for any reason it will give the council the perfect opportunity not to give it permission to run as it is they make it very difficult for the club with red tape and silly policies. I mean how many other clubs have to give announcements to warn about flying shale and safety glasses are available from the track shop. Once it closes it will be difficult for anybody to reopen it I have seen online that they are appealing for plumbers,Carpenters and electricians to go up to do some free volunteer work.

SteveBrum- If you are unsure about the Masters situation why don't you ask him after a Wolves meeting next year and he will tell you exactly the same story.
-
I fully agree BecketLion All Leicester fans should be very grateful for David Hemsley getting Speedway back in Leicester and what he has achieved. He just needs to listen to the fans and riders he will then have a happier and successful club at present myself and others just find it disappointing and annoying the way the club is going. The whole race night thing was based on the Poole match last season which got rained off BH Monday then on Tues evening got rearranged for the Thursday obviously this is short notice and there was no way of letting people know yet Hemsley took the lower than normal crowd that Leicester fans won't support mid week
-
Don't forget that they also lost Sam Masters this season due to messing him around, he wanted to return is living in Leicestershire in 2016 but Hemsley offered him less than this year and PL money and would commit to signing him. The more I hear and as time goes on the more I fear that Leicester will not run in 2016 I have a feeling the club have made their decision and are just waiting on when to release it.
-
Kirkylane- Leicester are ok at the lower end of team and there are better options available it's the top end that the Lions are struggling with at Present
-
It will be Kings Lynn to change race night and I believe it will be done to accommodate a rider that rides in the Danish league on Wednesdays. Lewis Kerr will choose another PL team
-
From what i understand THJ has been approached by Leicester and is interested but is not willing to commit until he knows what is happening with riding in Poland next season. In this lower quality league I think he would have been a good signing to go with Doyle,Wozniak and Walasek but with the current options he seems a big risk. I know some fans don't and can't understand the Poland problem on Sunday's these clubs get big crowds,Plenty of sponsors so can pay riders big wages. In return they expect you to be 100% at your best and do as they say. So this means they like the UK,Danish,Swedish based riders to fly over Saturday morning/Lunchtime then often a practice session at the home track followed by a meal with sponsors and club officials. On the Sunday they then like the riders there nice and early to bond and discuss the meeting. So as you can see Leicester's Saturday night racing just does not work with travelling to Beaumont park then riding the meeting leaving the track around 10pm to get to Stansted around half past midnight. Maybe 3 or 4 hours sleep in a hotel or on a bench in the terminal before a 6-7am flight which is often full of screaming kids and Ryanair constantly trying to seek their things. Once in Poland riders can have a few hours drive to get to meetings then they need to check equipment and maybe fit an engine. Hopefully this helps explain why so many riders do not want to come to Leicester for Saturday night racing I know a few riders said to Doyley and Wozniak they don't know how they do it so regular as it tired them out just doing it 2 or 3 times a year.
-
The more I hear and the longer this goes on the more i think that Leicester will not run in 2016. Unless they have a change of heart I understand that both Batchelor and North have said No to Leicester already and Barker and Glasgow are unsure about riding on Saturday then straight up to Scotland. Walasek will be signing soon it is just agreeing with Poole the loan fee as I did hear Leicester wanted to pay it on a month by month basis when he rides so if like last year he gets injured they only pay the loan for when he rides, another Barmy idea from DH
-
BeckettLion- The problem with the proposed team is that THJ is not and has never has been a No1 rider in the EL he is a 2nd string so you would be looking at Walasek and Masters being your 1&2 which is not good enough when you have to go and race Doyle,Zagar,Jonsson,Holder,Buckowski,Cook
-
LionKing you are spot on with the possible signings the GB international has not got to really do any extra miles to do Leicester on a Saturday as will be coming via the Midlands from his south west base to race for his PL club on Sunday's although not sure how keen they will be on this arrangement as both man and equipment may not be as good if he just rides for them. This rider also needs to be careful with wage demands so does not price himself out as knows Leicester are desperate. The latest I have heard on the 2015 GP star is he is waiting to see if any club comes in for him from Poland if nothing happens or money not good enough he will come to Leicester. The Ex Lions will happen just a case of confirming arrangements with their parent clubs I am sure most know who these are but still no top end rider to lead the team which is the biggest worry
-
That's correct the bond gets returned back at the end of the season for the clubs along with their share of the BSPA payout e.g shared events,Sky money and any profits the organisation has gained by having all this money in the bank. The clubs did used to keep this money bond for most of the winter and then just pay the following seasons in February but now it has to be lodged just after the AGM as it is now a considerable amount clubs obviously list it as an asset of the business. If Leicester were to pull the plug altogether its likely that the BSPA would keep it and then return to other clubs as profit at season end,if another Promotor was to come in they would possibly look at moving it over as they would be buying the club which one of its assets is the bond along with Wozniak,Graverson and maybe Sam Masters
-
I will be honest I am not sure of all the ins and outs of the bonds. But it is there to cover money owed to home riders and also to away clubs that are owed money from matches rode. Most clubs pay their home riders every week or two but some are not as good, the same goes for away matches some clubs pay fast some take ages. This I where some clubs get into cash flow problems when matches get rained off but away don't as they are having to pay their riders for these matches with sometimes not being pAid by the other club as well as topping up riders money from the standard BSPA rates .As far as I am aware there is no cover for loss of potential income as have less matches to stage.
-
Looks like the bond may actually be 50k for next season which is a lot of money to lose but how much would you lose with a uncompetitive side and having to pay riders over the odds. A very careful decision has to be made about what to do the next signing i have been hearing about is not at top end but a PL 3rd heatleader
-
El Addio I think the bond is even higher this year I've reports it could be over 30k for elite league as after the Birmingham situation there was lots of debts outstanding to riders and clubs which the 10k didn't cover so it was increased to cover these additional risks.
-
It is fact that a long list of riders have turned Leicester down this season due to them not moving the race night and have lost their no 1 due to it as well. It won't be in the PL as BSPA will not allow it and too many riders already signed for other clubs so it will be EL or nothing. I do wonder if the Leicester situation is delaying the Sam Masters case of where he is riding in 2016 as the Lions had agreed to purchase him
-
I wonder on what odds somebody will give me on Leicester not riding in the Elite league in 2016 and freezing their license for a year ?? The list of riders turning down the club grows everyday and options at the top end have just about been exhausted now. The only rider showing an interest is a 6pt PL rider who has never been over impressive at Beaumont Park
