  1. It began raining when we left the restaurant in Middlesbrough after our parmo for last years Bears/Rockets fixture and It drizzled all the way through the meeting. Rain became heavier just as the racing ended. It was run at a cracking pace though. A little over an hour from memory. Looks like I may have made the wrong call today, but I honestly couldn't see myself making the start time leaving North London a little after 3pm... Redcar on hot form at the moment. Can't see anything but a good home win... Hope all riders stay safe... See you next year!
  2. Bit of a grey area. If Tyson is unable to obtain a visa to enter Ukraine he isn't technically refusing to take part in an FIM meeting is he?
  3. Not taking the risk. Don't fancy the 500 mile, 9 hour round trip, just in case
  4. And as he's based in the North his travel expenses will be a lot less. I'll see you at the restaging
  5. Won't be much dust around if you believe the weather forecast.
  6. Early signs not good... http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2646807 Doesn't have to rain for the track to be waterlogged. Ask the Belle Vue promotion
  7. Didn't see that one coming!! Kennett is a brilliant signing and could be challenging Cook for the top PL rider. The Bandits promotion should be applauded for taking a risk, because that's what it is. Kennett won't be coming cheap. Paul Starke (another ex Rocket), didn't do too badly when with us. Question now is, what happens with the race suits and bonus point money?
  8. I was all set to do the 500 mile round trip, but then I saw this... http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2642607 and thought, nah!
  9. Give up my Monday overtime at work and then have a 115 mile round trip, including the notorious Dartford Crossing in the rush hour? The first heat got going at 15:15. Heat 15 ended after 17:30 from memory.
  10. Looks decent when I've seen him during second halves at Rye One of my pet hates is people posting rubbish like this. Such a lame and lazy comment. Don't get me started about dogs Gemini!! I'd love to support the youngsters and go to more NL meetings, but my experiences of 2-3 hour meetings at Rye House has put me off.
  11. 5.15pm kick off. Without extra time it'll be over by just after 7
  12. Boxall only has one bike. Shouldn't even consider racing in the PL unless you have at least two... Is Olly not fit to race at the weekend? I heard he had a crash on Sunday and was gonna have physio.
  13. The National League is so diverse. Last year we had Adam Roynon beating GP riders in the EL, then the next day up against 15 year old novices. The young Sittingbourne number 7 Adam Kirby fell a couple of times as he was passed yesterday. I swear the rider passing never touched him. He just panicked and fell off. Not to say he won't develop into a decent rider. I'm not really a fan of the NL for the reasons I stated. The meetings are more often than not long drawn out with falls a plenty. Saying that, there's nothing better than seeing a youngster develop from novice to top rider.
  14. If it's rained off send the bill to God. I may submit a bill for my expenses when attended a meeting at Sheffield last year, called off 30 minutes from the start, even though it'd been raining up there for most of the afternoon
  15. Something going on in the local area that requires use of the car park at a guess?
  16. That's a contentious one. I suspect he's spent most if not all of his life in the UK, so is technically British, as I am having both parents born in Cyprus, but lived here all my life. I've no argument with him appearing for the US "Dream Team". It's just a shame they couldn't have brought over 7 Americans, but as I've stated on another thread it was more than likely financial constraints that prevented that.
  17. No Nelson for this, on international duty. Who the hell is available on a 5.52 point average that will score what he could? http://www.ryehouser....php?extend.563 Expect another early rain off http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2646807
  18. Nah.... http://wwosbackup.pr...play&thread=702 Has an American father Let's split the difference and say 2 and a half?
  19. Interesting quote from Steve Boxall (second paragraph from the bottom) http://www.lovespeedway24.co.uk/home/gallery_fans_flock_to_sittingbourne_for_kent_kings_opening_race_1_2182587
  20. Yeah, it said so in the programme. Only two genuine Americans on show yesterday which was a shame.
