  1. First time texter, from the comments aged around 12, so moronic comments should be expected. I would imagine that he/she was the only texter who came forward, so I suppose any updates are better than none.
  2. I feel for those Plymouth fans. I've been there a few times too. A couple of years ago I was on the Northern Tour with Rye House, based in Berwick. Made it to Edinburgh where we saw 2 heats before the heavens opened. Berwick the following night was the real shocker. It had rained a little in the day, but by late afternoon it was blue sky and bright sunshine. Despite this the meeting was postponed. I climbed up onto the wall outside the stadium to see the track. A couple of puddles on the first turn and that was it! Berwick had injury problems that day and we looked like we were going to take something away from there for a change. That was clearly Berwick Bandits not wanting to race that night
  3. Ok, travelling support wil be considerably less than last week, but with reduced admission failing to draw in the crowds that can only signal struggles ahead
  4. Isn't that the norm at Berwick this year?.. How was the attendance level on a decent day weatherwise with no GP to contend with?
  5. I see Ben Barker has made a remarkable recovery from the wrist he broke at Sheffield on Thursday
  6. B4E will be happy, and when she's happy..... well, you work it out
  7. Has Silver lost interest in Rye House for the sake of his new baby over in Kent?
  8. Highlight of the week for most of them... I've heard of sleepy towns, but that one's in a coma!
  9. If I were him I'd be out looking for an edible hat.
  10. Len Silver is like Marmite, you either love him or hate him. I'm somewhere in the middle
  11. Could go either way this. Reserves will be key and Berwicks are better. Bandits have gotta be sharper from tha gate tonight, cos that track is a bugger to pass on if you stick to the one line
  12. I'm not gutted any more, I'm furious. I've been to loads of away meetings that have been rained off close to the start, but at least they gave it a chance. That's the nature of being a speedway fan in this country unfortunately... To call off a meeting this early on the strength of a questionable weather forecast, just to placate half a dozen or so away fans that may have travelled, is ridiculous... Wonder how much he saved on riders travelling costs today?
  13. I'm still not convinced there was any real effort to get this on
  14. Not sure how many meetings are needed before the averages change? Driving along the M25 in Essex and the sun is shining. Some rain around, but not enough to make the track unraceable surely?
  15. To be fair I can only remember one occasion where he got it wrong. The track will be wet from recent rain and being very close to the river won't help with the water table being high. More rain forecast around lunchtime, so I guess he had little choice. Nothing to gain from a rain off, so he must have very good reasons. May 25th is a reserved date according to official Rye website
  16. He's a nice guy and has good equipment. That's the stock answer.
  17. He has a full time job, so I doubt he'd want any extra meetings. Almost certain about that.
