He's not the most exciting to watch, but if he gates, he doesn't usually lose. Typical solid Rye number one in the Chris Neath mould. Every team should have a Mr Reliable. There are enough thrills and spills with Nelson, Garrity and Lyke. I don't think my old ticker could take too much more excitement.
Oh, right. I can't comment, cos I haven't been, but the Redcar fans seem pretty annoyed by it. Be interesting to see how many "Rough Park" comments there are next time they visit Newcastle
I shouldn't think Olly Allen has been round Redcar many times, so maybe taking a couple of races to suss out the track would be the correct call for him. Balls out riders like Garrity and Nelson just go for it!
From 6 PL & PLC meetings (with bonus in brackets)
Allen... 8.24 (8.24)
Garrity 7.31 (8.11)
Nelson 6.77 (7.28)
Mellgren 6.74 (7.26)
Lykke 4.64 (5.82)
Above averages subject to me getting it completely wrong!
Amazingly Olly Allen has yet to earn a bonus point!
Surprised that Anders average is so low!
Olly Allen withdrew after dropping a point in his two races?
Dyer wasn't going so well in the heat where he fell. You can think all you like. We'll never know, but its fun to speculate
Agree 100% with you... Maybe we could've got something, maybe not, but we'll never know now... It's at times like this I'm thankful we have a promoter who takes heed of the weather forecasts
Abandoned after heat 10. I made the correct decision ... I'm off to the casino tomorrow to see if this luck holds
Pretty crap way to lose the points though. I feel we could've got something out of this
It began raining when we left the restaurant in Middlesbrough after our parmo for last years Bears/Rockets fixture and It drizzled all the way through the meeting. Rain became heavier just as the racing ended. It was run at a cracking pace though. A little over an hour from memory.
Looks like I may have made the wrong call today, but I honestly couldn't see myself making the start time leaving North London a little after 3pm... Redcar on hot form at the moment. Can't see anything but a good home win... Hope all riders stay safe... See you next year!
