Looks to me like Chas may have the same mindset that he had when racing for Berwick last year. Strange that he totally upped his game when he signed for Newport... Just a theory, but perhaps Berwick and Rye House offered him guaranteed money (as I know Len does for all the rest of the side) plus money on top for extra points gained, whilst Newport were offering a different deal with less guaranteed and more money per point?
I don't see Jordan as a number one, so we could have to rely on Chas to sort himself out and start riding like he did for the Wasps last year!
I've not warmed to Chas yet, he needs to sort out his gating... I hope he's not doing a Berwick on us... Anders looks to be a fine signing, nothing like I was expecting... We have to find a way of keeping him, but I'm not hopeful after last years Doyle/Boxall scandal!
The Rye track is very technical and from my point of view is very difficult for your typical unskilled youngster starting out in speedway... Passing is at a premium, mainly due to the rider ahead making mistakes... At PL level though you can see some decent racing... Rohan Tungate sussed out the 2nd bend cutback recently and Michael Jepsen Jensen made some decent passes last saturday for Peterborough... I've seen some dull meetings and some very good meetings at Rye, but there again I've seen some shockers at supposed racers track at Somerset!
I'd love to support the Raiders on Friday, but we're off to Somerset ... We'll be at Rye on Monday for the double header after we've been up to Leicester on Saturday... Busy weekend ahead!!
You said it Waco, it was freezing. Not surprised that most scurried away to warm up... Not even sure what the standard of these guys is, but I'm guessing it's a level below the NL, so would only keep the most die hard speedway fan hanging around freezing their nuts off, or the equivalant for the ladies!
