  1. Could be the weather which looked a bit iffy, or the fact the tie was dead after the first leg. I don't think having what is effectively a 3 man team helps either. Thanks for the info Bryn, but with an 18 month old kid in tow it's a journey I'm very reluctant to make, especially on a weekday.
  2. Cracking heat 15. Almost worth enduring the mediocre 14 heats before it. That's not really fair on Rob Branford who's always great entertainment at this level. Very low crowd, around 200 I'd say. The £15 50/50 raffle prize says it all Brummie reserves look decent
  3. Had the misfortune to attend a couple of Berwick Rangers home games over Xmas/New Year 2014. Utter tosh. The only highlight was the pre match battered haggis & chips and half time Scotch pie
  4. Could work both ways. He could either continue his poor away record, or up his game. It all depends on his character. Could be the making of him
  5. Brummie fans wanna count themselves lucky they're not part of a Rye PL/NL double header with no fixed start time if the PL part of the meeting overruns. Is there a more inconvenient away meeting than IOW? Tuesday night overseas with awful transport links.
  6. Weather update: Sun is shining, but it's breezy and quite chilly. Expected to be around 6 or 7 degrees Celsius by 6pm, but it'll feel a lot colder!
  7. All well and good if you have a PL side to put them in once they've "developed". To attract people through the gate you need three or four riders who know what they're doing to balance out the wobblers. Doubt sides like Eastbourne & Birmingham would be in business if they had a team of rookies. Rye House are a different kettle of fish entirely. They have a PL side and own the stadium. Their entire existence doesn't rest on how the Raiders are doing.
  8. Weather Update: Some light rain last night and a little this morning. No rain forecast for the rest of the day, so should be ok.
  9. Dunno what you're complaining about. You don't start until 7.30
  10. You clawed back the points you lost at home the previous week
  11. Pretty sure he'll finish with a 9+ NL average, despite that poor score at Mildenhall.
  12. I'm up at 5am for work too. How much sleep do you need? Mind you, I'm only 4 or 5 minutes drive from the track!! The early evening start time gives families a chance to do something during the morning/afternoon and get to see some speedway too. A mid afternoon start could put some off, especially during warmer weather. On the other hand, many NL meeting go on for ever due to numerous falls. We'll be lucky if we're out of there before 8pm, too late for those with very young children who have to travel far.
  13. Bowens put 0.33 on his average in 3 meetings
  14. It was on the Rye House Fans FB page that Bowen guests at Rye. I presume for the Brummies as they have their top 2 missing. Beats me how he has a lower average than both of them Liam Carr was the IOW guest last night
  15. Luke Bowen guests for the Brummies with RR for Perry I presume?
  16. It can get quite depressing texting defeat after defeat week after week. I'm not surprised nobody wants to text updates
  17. Should've had the Cornish pasty. I can't stand skin on fried fish either
  18. Saw Peterborough in action at Rye on Sunday. Can't see anything but an away win on that performance
