  1. Agree with HKP. Rye will have much tougher meetings, starting next week when Peterborough come to town. Ipswich (Covatti apart) were bad. Even Danny King looked below par. The heat 15 gift of a 5-1, when Kennett opted out, made the score look a little more respectable for Ipswich. Peter Karger continues to disappoint. Decent crowd. Karger is averaging exactly 1.00 from 4 meetings
  2. Sun is peeking through the clouds just before 5pm. Can't see any serious rain clouds about
  3. Dunno Waco, I'd bring one just in case. Brightened up considerably over Hoddy.
  4. Steady rain for most of the night in Hoddesdon. Still raining now. Anything decent on TV tonight?
  5. Don't expect the most pessimistic Edinburgh fan or optimistic Berwick fan saw that coming. It's a shame it'll count for nothing as Glasgow will top the group and the Monarchs will surely strengthen by the time the Bandits return in the league
  6. Pretty sure it didn't have a roof on when I sat in it during the late 80's
  7. There is no Tempstand. It's been replaced with a permststand
  8. Let's not get carried away. Birmingham need a strong team, because that's all they have. The Raiders have an entirely different philosophy. Heavy defeats home and away will happen often
  9. I've had a secret stash of custard creams hidden for ages and nobody in the house has yet to find em. It's not difficult
  10. I suspect Hume wanted to leave Rye
  11. Take out Woods and there's around 6 points to play with
  12. Haven't heard anything Waco. Just think it's odd to redeclare for just a couple of meetings, unless there's some obscure ruling I'm unaware of Wouldn't be surprised Hopwood is a decent signing, good for 7 or 8 points a meeting, but nowhere near Branfords class or scoring power.
  13. Sounds about right. Just think it's a really strange signing for what would be only two meetings.
  14. Conspiracy theory is that Branford won't be taking his place in the Raiders line up and that the Hopwood signing is permanent
  15. Met office has sunshine in the day, clouding over by the evening. 20% chance of rain
  16. Don't get the Woods signing during the winter. He's a 3 pointer and will stay a 3 pointer. His bike looks slow when he manages to stay on it. He's been around for a while, what is he, mid 20's? I'd rather see a younger rider given a chance who's more likely to improve. Woods won't.
  17. Ben Hopwood joins the Raiders http://www.ryehouserockets.co/news.php?extend.1212
  18. If you decide not to take Baldys generous offer, you could take the A12/A120/A10, or A12/A120/M11/A414/A1170. Some people prefer A12/M25/A10, but I wouldn't touch it
  19. I reckon it'll be close, but the Rockets should take this with Ipswich taking a match point away. Danny King v Edward Kennett should be a good to watch.
  20. Oh dear. These Moanarchs don't like it now they've been knocked off their pedestal. Welcome to the also rans club lads
  21. Not the best angle to judge, but my initial thoughts were no contact
  22. Boxall always starts off well, but his machinery lets him down in the end. No doubting his talent, but you need more than that at this level. Today was a cracking meeting and a nail biting last heat decider. What more could you want?
