  1. When another club closes due to poor attendances and you remember the day you stayed in to watch TV... what's the matter with people these days?
  2. That's the one Spinny, senior moment. Stayed there one year after the PLRC. Nice n handy after drinking too much to drive home!
  3. Just as well it's cheap as I fear it could be a wasted journey, sadly.
  4. As I recall, the rule was British reserves would stay at reserve for the season. About May/June Boxall was averaging around 8 points, Armstrong over 7, so the BSPA abandoned that idea!Someone's bound to correct some or all of that, my memory ain't what it was!!
  5. The PL reserve rule was changed mid season effecting Rye House and Mildenhall, 2006 I think it was. Don't turn this into an anti Poole thing.
  6. If the riders don't want to race there's nothing you can do
  7. How can you predict the score without knowing the opposition line up?
  8. He was signed by Rye on a 3.27 average, but you can knock 3 points off that the way he's been riding
  9. Don't see what all the fuss is with Ellis. Unless he misses the gate all you're gonna see is him half a lap ahead of the others after 4 laps.
  10. I hadn't realised IOW had changed their race night to Thursday's. Any reason why they've changed it from Tuesday?
  11. Bloody hell, 2008! Didn't realise it was that long ago.
  12. Will travel to IOW on a Tuesday, but complain about a Sunday meeting at Rye House? Last time I was at Smallbrook was for a PL meeting against Berwick in October, possibly in their last season before closing. There were no more than 150 people there. I hope the crowds pick up once the holiday season starts. Sorry to say, but I don't think speedway is sustainable on the island
  13. My information is that Len Silver is a big fan of BWD was all set to sign him for this years Rockets side until he parted ways with Rye House.
  14. Hard to tell after one meeting. Don't be surprised if he's picked up by a PL side very soon. I'll gloss over the rest of that nonsense post if you don't mind.
  15. Could be the weather which looked a bit iffy, or the fact the tie was dead after the first leg. I don't think having what is effectively a 3 man team helps either. Thanks for the info Bryn, but with an 18 month old kid in tow it's a journey I'm very reluctant to make, especially on a weekday.
  16. Cracking heat 15. Almost worth enduring the mediocre 14 heats before it. That's not really fair on Rob Branford who's always great entertainment at this level. Very low crowd, around 200 I'd say. The £15 50/50 raffle prize says it all Brummie reserves look decent
  17. Had the misfortune to attend a couple of Berwick Rangers home games over Xmas/New Year 2014. Utter tosh. The only highlight was the pre match battered haggis & chips and half time Scotch pie
  18. Could work both ways. He could either continue his poor away record, or up his game. It all depends on his character. Could be the making of him
  19. Brummie fans wanna count themselves lucky they're not part of a Rye PL/NL double header with no fixed start time if the PL part of the meeting overruns. Is there a more inconvenient away meeting than IOW? Tuesday night overseas with awful transport links.
