  1. Len Silvers biggest failing (apart from his PR skills) was his loyalty to underperforming riders and unwillingness to make changes when needed. I can only recall one occasion when he actually let a rider go since we rejoined the PL in the early 2000's.
  2. Probably best to keep that as a thought and not embarrass yourself posting it here
  3. Oh right. Roberts financial demands could not be met. Rye House was his preferred track
  4. Nikolaj has stated that Rye House didn't want him.
  5. That's five and a quarter riders. Do they come in kit form now?
  6. . Rye was Lamberts first choice, but they probably wouldn't or couldn't meet his pay demands.
  7. Our promoters obviously haven't as deep pockets as we thought and wouldn't pay what Lambert wanted. What next?
  8. At £110 a point. Ridiculous money for the PL
  9. No, everyone is certainly not in the same boat. Glasgow can offer a package above any other team in the league. I'm not complaining, good luck to ya, but don't be coming on here implying it's a level playing field.
  10. Time will tell whether it was worth it or not
  11. I was at Workington that day and can confirm this. If you think that's an isolated incident you're way off the mark. I've heard it at many places, almost come to blows a few times
  12. Pretty sure Somerset will track a very competitive side at the start of 2016. I wouldn't be pressing the panic button just yet
  13. This is my take on it (just a theory): The promotion signed up Lambert at the tail end of last season with a view to 2016. Terms were probably discussed between the two parties. Then, either Lambert upped his pay demands, or the promoters got cold feet when they worked out their finances (possibly both). I can't believe they let NBJ go to Peterborough on a ridiculously low average without a very good replacement. I think Warren Scott wildly underestimated the costs involved in running a speedway side. Surely he had some idea of the income/outgoings and didn't just take Len Silvers word for it? I reckon the old boy couldn't believe his luck and is having a right good laugh now.
  14. A little less now Cooks gone. Be prepared to have that baton handed over
  15. The only reason they let NBJ go is to accommodate Robert Lambert. If they fail to sign him now that's a massive own goal
  16. Totally underwhelmed so far. 12.5 points to play with. Let's see how they're used
  17. You're gonna piss your pants when it's announced
