Somerset V Plymouth - Friday 20th May - League Cup
KN1 replied to womble53's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
In actual fact it was not Plymouth who didn't want to carry on, very bad sportsmanship and announcement by Somerset. -
Ellis genuinely broke down on route for your information.

Yes unfortunately Steve,we have just heard.

Somerset Vs Rye House 25/03/16 League Cup

May as well delete this thread now. 😦 -
So you would be happy if the government said everyone has to have an electric car, But you would not be able to sell (ie your petrol/diesel 65 plate one) and you just leave it on the drive/in garage.
-
So riders throw away all engine's they currently have,as there would be no market for them, and then buy the new standard ones. some that do their own engines will now have to pay someone else to do them, oh and pay to send them off. we have never paid more than £150 for labour to have an engine serviced, imo that's not expensive for a good days work, compare that to say having your gas boiler or car repaired by a professional. As for safer can't see how,the nature of our spirt is what it is,and to an extent that's why we love it and they race it.

You still had tuners back then erskine/street etc. This will do nothing for speedway whatsoever, apart from put engine builders out of work and turn more riders away from British speedway. Did they say what any plans were to try and promote and get speedway more media coverage possibly, that thing that may actually tempt more people to come to speedway

Maybe arrange something akin to what the pirate cast boys do. You listen and can ask/answer via the chat box after registering.

Fortnightly, same team home and away with the following blank week set for rain offs if the current amount of teams in el continues , riders and fans alike know what to put in their diaries. Imo the 3 leagues need to work out a way to become 2. In Poland there is also a growing opinion to have 2 leagues instead of 3 as well due to lack of fixtures. Also 2 polish riders i spoke to are talking of packing in at the eos due to having only 15 meeings as they say its not worth the effort and expense. And they have both had good seasons.

Wolverhampton Wolves Vs Poole Pirates 20/07/2015
KN1 replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
At rye last year kyle fell and sarjeant who was a guest for Plymouth that night laid his bike down to avoid kyle. Kyle rightly ex for stopping race but sarj was also ex for not being under power when race was stopped. -
this has been brought up before,so why start it again, imo cannot see a problem, pc crap as usual.

The Most Secret Speedway Meeting Ever
KN1 replied to Grand Central's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
agree the video is deceptive, the track was in very good condition and perfect to race on right up to the last heat with several lines for those that wanted to use them, and a joy to watch the lads racing on it, thumbs up to Phil Morris for organising this. for someone who is not always too bothered about going to cardiff, from the moment they were having their practice laps, i had a buzz about the place, and feel this could be a very good gp. -

skippy, your the man on the spanners :) -
agree with not allowing b/w in the 2 reserve races, but dont see why not in any other race, (what would happen if a draft/reserve rider took a 1-5 riders place would they then be allowed to wear it?). also heat 15, why not?, personally would prefer the old (pre draft) race format.

As there is no polish meetings this weekend (all postponed), monday could be a sensible day for a back up. -
If You Could Bring Back One Rider...
KN1 replied to TonyMac's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
John langfield. Remember how he would jump the fence to express his opinion so to speak. Run up to the refs box to argue his point etc, Absolute character / racer / nutter (meant in a nice way lol). Problem is that all riders that will get mentioned in this post will get slaughtered by the refs and authorities nowadays with fines bans etc. When I think of things that used to happen at meetings that were part of the entertainment are now dealt with draconian rules. My son got fined £60 just for telling a ref he needed to go to specsavers and that was at nl level. -
Riders Gardening At The Tapes
KN1 replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Sounds fair enough, perhaps they listened to what riders were saying. -
People keep going on about cutting costs, I dont see how apart from some ridiculous rule changes that require riders to spend uunnecessary monies, Ie kevlars this season. I do not believe there are enough riders as yet to fill these positions if it comes in and of what standard and if of a low standard then fans will drift away more so, as its human nature in any domain to go to see the best available, then there is nowhere for these riders to aspire to get to, a ridiculous idea and a lot riders will be more inclined to pack it in with the restraints.

and throw in the fact that mx uses petrol (oil based fuel), and speedway uses methanol (oil washing fuel). not sure about the rev limiters though vince, asked some of the boys that used them and they were a bit inconsistent on the speedway tracks, giving a false indication of what the engine was doing in the turns.
