  1. If indeed there is to be icing on the cake we may have to wait until Sunday. However, if Rob Branford is announced tomorrow it will be on the right lines though.
  2. Other than Rye House moving up it makes no difference. Somerset and Plymouth are further south but so far away it is not a factor. In fact, Somerset elected to go up as their closest neighbours in the Championship would have been Peterborough, a mere 178 miles away!
  3. Mock older riders at your peril. The eldest of the quartet signed so far is Robbo who turned 40 earlier this month. At a similar age, Greg Hancock had just one World Championship to his name!
  4. Absolutely not. Sounds like they are announcing the new signings first. There is no reason to suggest he has replaced Robbo as he can still be included. Looking at today's press release it seems Rye House are going for a virtual all British team. Kennett, Nicholls, Harris, Watt, Robson and Branford would leave just enough points for young Lakeside asset, Zach Waijknecht.
  5. The eldest of that quartet is Davey Watt who will be 39 next January. At a similar age, Greg Hancock had just one World Championship to his name so age doesn't necessarily have anything to do with it. Also, 30 year-old Ed Kennett may still have the best years ahead of him.
  6. This is the extract from the BSPA statement: The only difference in team building rules between the leagues is that Championship clubs must include a British youngster with a three-point average. And in a bid to help young riders get team spots, any rider who hasn’t achieved a three-point average will come in on a minimum of 2. From that I cannot tell if the '2 point ' rule applies soley to the Championship or both leagues.
  7. Zagar has signed in both Poland and Sweden which rules him out from riding here.
  8. Just to digress very slightly, Scott Nicholls has been announced as the first signing for Rye House.
  9. Rye don't intend running Saturdays when they clash against the SGP.
  10. Actually, King's Lynn and Coventry are the nearest, 88 miles but not that much further on than Peterbrough, 66 and Ipswich 77. Overall, away support might be better as most of the clubs in the Premiership are closer than in the old PL. For example, Somerset were third in distance previously but, in the new league, only Wolverhampton and Belle Vue are further away.
  11. The Polish Extraleague rules state that riders in their league are permitted to ride in one other league plus their home competition. Because Britain is deemed to be Aussies home competition during our speedway season he is still able to compete in Poland and Sweden.
  12. It could be interpreted in two ways. One is your's the other might be just a comment to say that neither he nor Chris are now riding for Poole.
  13. Read this: http://m.hertfordshiremercury.co.uk/scott-outlines-bold-plans-for-rye-house/story-29883976-detail/story.html
  14. NKI has already signed for Gorzow and is likely to be back with Indianerna which would rule him out from riding here.
  15. I don't think he will have been eligible anyway under the new Polish rules. He has signed for Woclaw and Indianerna. Only if he fails to get a team place in the Polish Extraleague in 2017. This is quite apart from the fact that he would miss numerous Wednesday fixtures due the Danish league.
  16. Masarna have tweeted to say Seb Alden and Robert Lambert will be joining them in 2017: https://twitter.com/masarnaspeedway/status/796433901438828548
  17. Definitely not. Stock cars and bangers on Sundays.
  18. Richie Worrall 8.33 Steve Worrall 8.51 Craig Cook 9.88 Max Fricke 9.91. 13.37 left. This is based upon the final figures shown on the BSPA website so may be subject to adjustment.
  19. It is but only just. Coventry stadium is only 5 miles further away, Leicester 17 miles and Swindon 25 miles. Journey times are very similar. In fact, this league will make it far more do-able for the travelling fan based in Hoddesdon. For example Somerset, who were Rye's third closest neighbours in the old PL (along with Sheffield), now become the second furthest away.
  20. Haven't heard anything from Hunter since he started this thread. Perhaps he is hoping to crawl round while no-one is looking and amend its title.
  21. I would just like to point out there is another Rye House thread on the EL section which, hopefully, the administrator will re-name soon.
  22. Not bad although I wouldn't have Kasper as it appears that he will never be able to make starts. The biggest stumbling block could be Andersen. Under the new Polish rules if he rides in the Extraleague he can only compete in his own country and one other - Sweden I expect.
