Should forum users be permitted to use derogatory language towards other forum users? I see no need to call a fellow forum user an idiot or any other derogatory term. People may have different views but they should not be abusive. The bottom line is that we are all speedway supporters. It is not 'manly' to be abusive, however mildly, to a fellow forum user. I feel that the forum would be a better place if all forms of abuse were removed. It's not necessary to be abusive. If you have a decent argument it does not need to be backed up by abuse.

Cradley Heathens V Buxton Hitmen - National League (29/04/14)

Look at the success of Scunthorpe Scorpions in the PL. They moved up a couple of seasons before Plymouth. -
Cradley Heathens V Buxton Hitmen - National League (29/04/14)

If Buxton and Scunny are so wrong in using inexperienced riders why will their riders be poached by the likes of Cradley once they improve? Riders at Scunny and Buxton do only get paid £10 point. If this was adhered to by all teams there would be less poaching - and more effort made to use young, inexperienced riders. With the old grading system at least teams using newer riders had a benefit in the fact that their grade was lower than that of an experienced rider and teams were more willing to use inexperienced riders. -
I'll answer my own question. It must be about 40 years worth of experience in the KL side. I think I remember Mallett, Campos, Hughes and Cockle from as far back as 2005. Only one new comer in the KL side. OK - Stags have too many newcomers but KL have too many riders with no ability/opportunity/ambition to get any further (IMHO).

Newcastle Diamonds Vs Scunthorpe Scorpions 20/04/14
scribbler replied to DIAMONDS's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If TJ was 'having a paddy' why would he endanger his own life by staying with the bike? Surely the usual thing to do is park the bike and walk away... Perhaps standing by the bike and the gesticulations to the ref. were to try and attract the refs attention to bike problems - and the fact TJ couldn't move it. -
Scunthorpe V Cradley (national League) 13th April 2014

IIRC Kyle has good sponsorship because he is riding for Poole. Sponsorship is the key to good equipment - but how often can riders get good sponsorship deals... -
Why did RH think JA was swearing at him? He could have been swearing in pain. RH has always been a moody beggar. Even when he rode for Scunthorpe I wasn't keen on him as a rider. He needs to be banned - his behaviour was inexcusable. Even if JA did swear at him RH should not have kicked an injured man when he was lying injured on the track!

Rob Godfrey sacked Ben Powell on the same night that he aimed his bike at a Newcastle rider in a meeting. I think the case then went to the SCB and he was banned from riding for a while. If Auty had damaged his spine or internal organs the kick that Richard Hall gave Auty may have had tragic consequences. Lucky for the both of them that it was a leg injury...

I know one promoter who sometimes posts on here - and also has a section on the Club's forum where supporters can ask questions... and he replies...

How Do Foreign Riders Afford To Race?
scribbler replied to Soul Crew's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Young foreigners can come here and just ride Speedway. British youngsters need to work - or they're at school/college and depend on parents - rather than a Club - to pay for everything and transport them to meetings etc.. They can't just concentrate on their riding like those who come over and get helped by clubs. It;s a false economy by Clubs and creates inequality between British and foreign riders. -

Bournemouth Evening Echo has a circulation of over 30,000. It's not a crappy local paper... Middleditch has done nothing about the quote. I presume the Echo quoted both Ford and Middleditch because their views were so different - or are we to assume that Ford was misquoted too... -

But the journalist at the Bournemouth Evening Echo stand by their comment... and I thought that meant it wasn't a mis-quote... -
Middleditch Must Go - New Gb Boss Needed

Which just shows that Middleditch's comment has not been confined to these shores... Queensland readers now have an insight into Middleditch's thoughts and opinions on today's youth in the UK... Not good... -
Scunthorpe Saints - Not Entering N L 2013 :(
scribbler replied to bigred's topic in National League Speedway
When did the points system come in for the NL? I'm sure the grading system was still in place. Auty - and the following year Jo Haines - may have been U15 champions but had (obviously) never ridden in a Leaugue and riding for a team is very different to riding as an individual. The use of Wayne Carter was that 'one older experienced rider'... who only rode in the Conference - not a 'double-upper'. Same old, same old. And it was the SW team that took the P out of the Conference with their use of two very experienced riders and paying way above the odds... -
Rider's name in discussion thread = concern ... what's happened to a rider...? Rider's name in League thread = curiosity... what's a rider done now to have a thread named after him...?

The Plymouth supporters have had a lot to put up with over the years. I look forward to them having a management that will respect them...

Rye House V Plymouth (pl)... 18th August @ 7pm
scribbler replied to Shadders's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I noticed in the 'Injuries' section that Fisher 'fitted' when he was knocked out. If this is true then he will need a neurological assessment and - perhaps - medication. This would mean he would be out for quite a while. People were saying he was lucky that there were no broken bones. IMHO a head injury is far worse... -
Didn't one of the Plymouth riders stop being Captain? Perhaps he refused to sign that the riders had been paid... Whoever is Captain now is doing the rest of the riders a disservice by signing that piece of paper - though I guess he's in an almost impossible situation...

Scunthorpe Lose World U21 Meeting

Surely TPB knew the track when it was chosen. How can it be up to standard to be chosen - and then fail the inspection? -
Concern For The Future Of The National League
scribbler replied to villiers210's topic in National League Speedway
Roger - The difference is that Scunthorpe try to have only one 'mature' rider at a time in their team... and have done ever since Wayne Carter in 2005... Bowden used his old mates in the team - instead of young riders. -
Concern For The Future Of The National League
scribbler replied to villiers210's topic in National League Speedway
No - it hadn't escaped my notice... Mr Vasey is a clever man - he knows where to look if he wants to find a quality rider for Stoke. I expect that he attends Scunny Amateur meetings to look for potential riders. I wonder how many other managers (or promoters) bother to do so...
