  1. Tough decision for the ref but I think he made the right one .... and took an age to tell everyone!!
  2. All very well enjoying the result but to stoop to calling opposition riders is just silly.
  3. Well done Workington , another fantastic result away from home.
  4. I thought there might have been a round of applause or some kind of recognition of the passing of the great Ivan Mauger, unless I missed it. Even though he passed away some three weeks earlier.
  5. Another great meeting at Belle Vue, a credit to the sport, some fantastic racing and a good crowd.
  6. Gappmaier was very good , fast and smooth riding.l expected him to score points but not that many, well done Berwick.
  7. Thought it was a decent meet , well done to Berwick they surprised me.
  8. Crowd was average not dire, pretty good for Friday after a 3 week break
  9. So after a near 3 week break we have Speedway back at Derwent Park when the Comets take on one of their oldest rivals the Bandits from Berwick. Workington track their new rider in Bradley Wilson Dean and the Comets should prove to be to strong for the visitors.
  10. Going to Cardiff and Poland this year usually give Cardiff a miss for a year or two to ease the cost, bite the bullet and stay in Cardiff
  11. Some lovely memories of Ivan from Peter Collins and Alan Wilkinson in this weeks Star, the overriding theme seems to be the bike preparation they gained from the great man.
  12. New dates for the rained off meetings against Glasgow are now on the Comets website
  13. Charlie Webster London marathon result 5:36.
  14. Both home meetings at Workington this season have been far better as regards getting the meeting over with as little delay as possible, long may it continue
  15. Workington Comets hope to get there season under way against the Edinburgh Monarchs, the Comets will have a guest (Bradley Wilson-Dean) in place of Mason Campton who has been injured whilst practising (broken wrist in four places). The weather forecast at the moment looks favourable. The Monarchs have a decent side and track former Comets Ricky Wells and Matt Williamson along with the potent Riss brothers.
