  1. Brady Kurtz replying to the tyre problem said part of the problem is poorly prepared tracks
  2. Troy batchelor has just posted a item on Facebook about the tyres used in the uk and photos of the tyre after a race meeting
  3. Workington go into their final meeting of the season against the Redcar Bears needing a win to lift themselves off the foot of the table. This will not be an easy match as Redcar go so well at the GT Tyres Arena and usually win, the Bears will require a guest for Charles Wright (away in Poland). Its not known at the moment whether Jonas and Max will be fit having taken knocks recently at Plymouth. Hopefully the weather will be ok on Saturday.
  4. That would be a sad situation where two of our biggest hopes for the future would be missing from the UK leagues after just one season in the Championship.
  5. Yes a few retiring at the end of this season Kildemand maybe Nichols , no Howarth , Cook etc
  6. Maybe or “ The one big league scenario” yes I know it has many flaws but just another rumour going round about all the top riders leaving the UK and leaving the rest to make up level playing field with two years of pain to get back to a 2 tier League
  7. May be big changes to the league team set up if that low not so many big hitters that may have polish contracts .
  8. Agree will Jonas and max be fit for the Comets .
  9. Probably the only options though with maybe Brennan not getting a spot.
  10. A few years ago many clubs would run buses/mini buses to tracks all over the country but with the cost of living now its difficult for many fans to travel.
  11. Regarding fan numbers, I was at Scunthorpe last night and estimate the crowd to be around 350 ish, whilst the Workington crowd is 450/550 I would guess ?
  12. Probably not. Who knows, Poole have a long history of success in both Leagues so have a big fanbase but like all clubs must keep promoting and make the package attractive especially to the younger fans as most clubs rely on an ever ageing band of fans. I'm not sure even if Worky had more success they would attract even a thousand fans.
  13. An entertaining meeting last night at Scunthorpe , Workington looked to have lost their way early in the meeting but fought back well to get the scores to within four points but the last two heats the scorpions pulled clear to win by 10. Both sides had bad luck with fallers and exclusions but on the whole probably a fair result. Good to see quite a few Comets fans at Scunthorpe to cheer on the lads.
  14. Batch looked to be very much on the pace last night at Scunthorpe and was backed by Kemp and Tate Ziscke and to a lesser extent Jonas, hopefully Worky can get the win tonight to get us off the foot of the table.
  15. Not sure really , Redcar always do well at Workington and have won there for the past three occasions I believe but Workington usually keep it close at Redcar only going down 46-44 in July. I think our best chance would be at Scunthorpe but it will not be easy....interesting few days ahead.
  16. RIP Arthur, rode for Workington in the late 70,s.
  17. Agree but all depends on costings for riders wages etc.
