Reading last weeks Star there was an article involving Leicester Speedway and how they made a loss over the past two years, so this year they have decided not to use Mx Fricke to alleviate some of the financial burden this season.

It does help when the sports are held indoors with light shows and music but promoters need to put on a show as you say. I remember going to an Ice Hockey game in Canada about 20 years ago and it was great , loud music when points were scored, big tv screens and fire machines etc.

Ice Hockey in Canada and the US has a similar "event" status with music and razzmatazz.

I suppose though that every track has a different levels of finance coming in and outgoings depending on sponsors rent and ownership . Eg Glasgow/Poole to Scunthorpe .
