  1. We try again against the Bandits on Sunday but with rain all week again and Sunday looking wet its not looking good.
  2. Middleditch should have been apologetic about the minority of fans from Poole instead he tried to wave it away as banter , not acceptable.
  3. I think it will be the same again with a few minor changes and the Premiership trying to get a couple of teams to move up.
  4. So for the Comets final home league meeting the Berwick Bandits arrive on Sunday when hopefully the Comets can take the win. The weather forecast is for showers on Sunday afternoon but hopefully this will improve over the next few days .
  5. Top seven qualify , all the rest have to go to challenge or challenge qualifier ….that could mix it up
  6. Agree we usually have better crowds when Edinbrugh , Redcar and Glasgow are the opposition those teams tend to bring plenty of supporters .
  7. Has been some real heavy rain all week and last night so probably not.
  8. I think the sprint points Bart got in Wroclaw could prove costly for Kurtz at the end in Voyens
  9. Bsn must have mixed it up speedway star advertised it too Berwick v Workington .
  10. Edwards scored 6 plus 1 when guesting for Nagel at Workington, maybe Nagel would have scored more who knows.
  11. Or Waldorf and statler....on a serious note I think the Poole team may have done just enough to win over two legs, if Glasgow had kept it to 9-10 pts they may be favourites but its not over yet..........
  12. Back to the 6 pm start this weekend but on a Sunday evening when the Comets take on the Berwick Bandits for our last home League fixture of the season, where did that year go!! This meeting sees a return of former Workington favourite Peter Kildemand who will feel at home on the wide open spaces of the Northside track. Berwick will be no push overs and pose a real threat with a strong top five and two reserves in Dayle Wood and Jack Smith who have ridden the Workington track a few times in the past. Hopefully this weeks rain will not have too much affect on the track and Berwick bring lots of fans over , this really makes a difference to the atmosphere and brings in much needed revenue.
  13. Not sure it was the SCB who shared it on social media.........could be wrong ?
  14. My first year watching Speedway , 1978 Derwent Park Workington v Berwick... The smell, the speed, close to the fence within touching distance to the riders... Brian Havelock (my first favourite rider), Ian Hindle etc.. Oxo drink, meat and potato pie, Cheese crisps...
  15. Great win for the Comets and a fine team performance . Well done lads . The comments from a few Glasgow fans is simply embarrassing , fortunately there are plenty of decent Tigers fans who took the defeat as it was , ie a bad day all round not like some who blamed the track and lack of passing , maybe I was at a different meeting. Good to see plenty of Glasgow fans at Worky , I hope you go on to win the title .
  16. Edwards very good guest for Glasgow , fitness of Vinnie is still to be decided. Makes Glasgow a bit stronger in my view , going to be tough for the Comet's, we need our gating gloves on and to be on it from the start , the part few weeks the Comets have been slow to get dialled in to the track .
