What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
topaz325 replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I dont know the answer but PL teams such as Ipswich and Belle vue do not one league, it would mean the loss of Kurtz and Bewley who are big draws for them, plus smaller clubs in the CL cannot afford to run in a one League system. Yes I know costs would average out if we lost the big stars (Doyle , Emil, Holder , Kurtz, Fricke etc) , the one League may come in one a two years out of necessity when more clubs fail in the two League structure. The AGM is due on the 12th of November but supposedly this is just to rubber stamp on changes already made. -
Congratulations to Poole , both teams rode really well in a great spectacle of speedway Packed stadium , good atmosphere and cut and thrust racing . I attended hoping Glasgow would pull the deficit back and gradually they did but that superheat was one race to far Many comets fans there with a few monarchs fans too. Also a really good fireworks display at the end Well done Glasgow speedway

Riders include Cooper Rushen, Vinnie Foord, Will Cairns, Luke Harrison, Ben Trigger and Ace Pijper plus many more exciting young riders. Also after the U19 final there is the British Youth Championships 250 cc and 125 cc classes. Gates open 11:30 am, cash only . Adults £17.00 This should be a very competitive event with some of the UKs finest talent on show, get down to the GT Tyres Arena and support the stars of the future.

So many questions, in an ideal world the One League system is the way to go but it will have a dramatic effect on the way it operates with costs etc. No way will the likes of Kurtz , Bewley , Fricke , Doyle etc be able to ride in such a League even the so called lesser riders like Masters, Lawson, Harris (Heat leaders in both leagues) prefer and demand to ride in two British league sides to make a living. Its a complicated and sad way the British Leagues have evolved.

he Workington club received information prior to fixture versus Berwick on Saturday 27th September that Fraser Bowes had refused to travel back to the UK from his base in Poland to participate in this final fixture. By Mr Bowes refusing to compete on the 27th of September he has breached SCB Regulation - 017.2 i) Failure to attend from a meeting duly listed on the official fixture list. Due to this breach of the Regulations, Mr Bowes SCB Registration will be suspended for a period of 28 days as from the 27th of September.

Well done to Berwick better team won on the day, Kemp , Jeppsen, and Kildemand were very good for the Bandits . Comets riders seemed to struggle out of the starts, good to see Jye get up from an awkward tumble. -
Or all meetings were not completed before the playoffs

Well we try again to finally complete the League season against the Berwick Bandits............and after a week of dry sunny weather there is rain forecast for Saturday , hopefully the rain will move off by then and we have a good race meeting.

GP line-up for 2026
topaz325 replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
In the ideal world nationality should not come into it when qualifying for the GP series, if you are good enough then the rider lines up but then it would mean having to qualify every year without the need for Wildcards. -
Not good , get well soon
