  1. Its England V Scotland this Saturday afternoon, Sea Lions v Rampant Lion...........err no not Football. Workington will be trying for all the League points including the bonus but I have a feeling it will not be as easy as last years big win against the Tigers. Workington will feature the new signing of Drew Kemp and hopefully will score a few points on his Comets debut, whilst the Tigers will be full of confidence after their good away win at Oxford on Wednesday evening. The weather in Workington is looking fine for Saturday so hopefully we will see some great racing , Glasgow usually bring plenty of support to Workington so it should be a good atmosphere at the GT Tyres Arena.
  2. I woulnt say that, Derwent Park offered some fine racing in its time and was a favoutite of many riders. Would Armadale , Berwick or Scunny be better than Derwent Park for example?
  3. Yes batch gets some stick from fans but rarely lets the Comets down and has often kept the team in meetings away from home . i personally did not suffer from dust on the second bend this week and thought the track held up well considering the drying wind but was a cool day for June Max Perry is starting to get his confidence back and riding well , Jonas struggled with the track a bit I believe and if Tate could improve his gating he would have an easier life but less entertaining for the fans πŸ˜ƒ
  4. Mostly gossip rumour and opinions on the BSF but if businesses ignore the public ....
  5. Not underestimating oxo at all just a wee guess at the score
  6. Weather looking good for tomorrow, should be a good meeting, ill go for a worky win by about 10pts.
  7. Workington go in search of more League points when the face Oxford this Saturday afternoon at 3pm. The Oxford team should go well at the GT Tyres Northside Arena with Sam Masters leading the side backed up by GP reserve Anders Rowe and stand in for Erik Riss old hand Eddie Kennett, also at reserve the improved Dayle Wood should do well.
  8. Similar to most clubs who used to run supporters buses to away meeting s the increased cost has put people and organisers off running them.
  9. I don’t think he was struggling as such it was the high level of competitors on a brilliant track.
  10. Agree about the fanzone , riders merchandise would have sold well I heard last year the organisers wanted Β£2k up front for riders to have merchandise stall …. More food outlets in the zone would he been ideal … all red tape I am going to get a T Shirt printed saying β€œ I was there Manchester 2026” πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ
  11. Agree Friday semi and final spoilt by the rain but I feel overall slightly better on Friday but I’m nitpicking both nights were very good
  12. "Speedway from the Gods" I think Friday night the racing was better , on Saturday it took a few heats to get going but ended in a Crescendo . One night GP at the NSS would be ideal but financially its not viable with the current capacity of the stadium. The Fanzone has run its course a bit unless it has more substance cannot really see the point , we went in walked round in 5 minutes and came out.
  13. No, do not miss the long journey south , the expensive hotels..etc. I,m past the going out and having too many drinks now.
  14. It’s crazy the actions of some fans they prefer to go for chips and beer rather than watch the racing. Can’t bring water in but flares are ok πŸ˜ƒ
  15. Are you not entertained 2!! Wow that final take a bow all four riders .
  16. Lost opportunity, could have been a place to celebrate the many sports Manchester has to offer, United, City, the Aces etc. Not sure City and United fans would be happy to share the place.πŸ˜€
  17. My replacement magazine arrived today ….ordered yesterday from the star office !!
  18. Hmm averages..........funny old business.
