  1. You're making it sound like Garrity is the victim! I was all for giving him a 2nd chance... but he blew it before he even got a team spot anywhere, unbelievable.
  2. Last week I think... Lemo mentioned 2 dates on the British speedway podcast, both of which have now passed. I'm sure 1 was for the squad and the other for the teams. I could be wrong though I wasn't fully listening
  3. Belle Vue are paying to stage the meeting, they're paying the FIM & WBD... it's then down to them to make it pay themselves with ticket entry, parking, programme sales etc. Reading between the lines it also sounds like the council are expecting to see "world" events held at the stadium, I assume so the promotion keeps receiving some kind of subsidy. It almost sounds like the whole clubs future has been bet on the SoN
  4. I was just listening to last weeks British Speedway podcast and Lemo was on it commenting on the British Final crowd and said that it was a near sell out... but wondered whether it had been held on a Monday night if it could have attracted a bigger crowd as when it was rained off on a Sunday a few years back and held on a Monday it actually attracted a bigger crowd. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it the other way around, it was abandoned on the Monday and re-staged on a Sunday, I remember this because I went to the Sunday re-staging as it was a much more attractive proposition than a Monday night meeting. You have to wonder where Lemo's head is at some times! You also have to wonder whether the over half a million pounds that the promotion are spending on staging the SoN would be better spent on getting the stadium filled for league matches? Blowing it all on a 5h1t or bust event or build up your attendances and fan base to lessen any risk in the future. I realise they probably think they're in the running to stage a GP, especially as it's the last year of the Cardiff contract this year and we'll probably not be heading back there as the crowds have halved since the exciting new WBD era.
  5. I go and get a free coffee every week from Greggs, as I used to have my energy supplied by Octopus and they give me a code every week, even though I left them months ago they still haven't closed my account down! There's no way I'd go and pay £2 for a coffee every week even though I do enjoy my freebie. It's just too much trouble and I don't feel I'm massively missing out by not having my coffee
  6. Personally I don't see a problem... we already have category's of championships, U16, U19, U21, U23, European, British etc. This is just another category
  7. A much improved away performance from the Lions but that wouldn't have been difficult after the pathetic display at Ippo. Can't help but think that r/r scoring only 4 flattered us a bit. Usual suspects not performing but on the plus side Fricke riding like a number 1 at last. Some great speedway racing tonight
  8. But even then as good as a TV league match is to watch on the TV, it's deathly dull when you're actually in attendance with the extended delays while the TV people are doing their Tv things. Until this is addressed, along with the cost, Tv meetings will never attract any sort of crowd unless it's a play off
  9. Is Connor Bailey British or Australian? He was British U21 Champion, has previously refused to ride for team GB, talks with an Australian accent, was born in Perth and has the Australian flag daubed all over his kit!
  10. It may be though, as it did look like there were a couple of hundred free loaders in the pits
  11. ... sounds like a proper buggers muddle!
  12. Why? It was neither Speedway GP or World Cup... surely it should have been posted under the International World of Speedway section
  13. Rightly or wrongly... he's on the list https://www.scbgb.co.uk/download.php?view.11238
  14. Edwards is on the rising star list, it looks like Sheffield have elected to sign him as an outright team member and use Gilkes as their rising star. I suppose it's up to the rider whether he decides to ride for Sheffield or another team as a rising star. As he's on the list I assume he's eligible to guest. You could question whether he should still be on the RS list if he's not being used as a RS by the club they are riding for.
  15. No, I'm not sure. The pits is no place for fans though
  16. Did he receive a concussion at Berwick or has he broken a finger nail?
  17. Absolutely no chance of Polish Speedway being televised live on any kind of main stream channel... most of them don't even want to know British speedway so there's no way they're going to show a league of a minority sport where you can't even pronounce most of the competitors names. As for atmosphere, the camera did cut to a small group of fans and there was one young woman clapping, everybody around her had their heads buried in their programmes filling them in. Controversial, but I'd ban programmes at speedway meetings they're an absolute atmosphere killer. How many times have you seen a great race and when the rider does come round for some applause, you look around you and everybody is filling their programme in!!! I know it's an extra income for clubs though. Do they have programmes in Poland? At times it seems like he's been to the Mark Lemon school of speedway management! It's amazing what people want to see isn't it, it was quite obvious, yet some want any excuse to have a pop at Morris who has done so much to improve the sport in this country recently. What happened to the centre green clock at Lynn, they seemed to be using clock replacement by the start marshal telling each rider individually how much time was left. Again, so many free loaders in the pits, all in full view of the camera, hanging over the barriers in the paddock where the riders wait to come on track, this needs sorting. Good win for Lynn as others have said if Musielak comes back they're going to be dangerous spoilers. Solid debut for Kvech
  18. Sadly, highly unlikely, people generally want to sit at home, watch Tv and have takeaway brought to them these days
  19. What exactly is gas lighting anyway? Is it when you set fire to your farts?
  20. SHOCK! Poles win it in their own backyard! Good to see some young Swedish talent coming through. GB the only team to have 3 riders not to give them all a ride... I wonder why?
  21. Unbelievably he's being given a 3rd chance!
  22. Do BSN use local camera operators? It always seems to be crap camera work from Berwick and Scunthorpe, usually missing most of any action or incidents with crazy camera zooms and often concentrating on the wrong riders.
