I was listening to a non league football owner/chairman on talksport the other morning and the tale he was telling regarding the attempt at selling his own football club was very similar to the tale of the sale of Speedway clubs, just lots of time wasters coming forward and people doing it for their own hubris and failing to come up with the money when the time came to actually buy the club.

He could pull the plug on the Cheetahs if that also becomes unviable. There's maybe a couple of self imposed BSPL rules that could be broken. 1. A club with no home riding at another track 2. Another promotion running within the 25(?) mile range of another promotion

Different times anyway though, In this age of cancellation you don't even have to be found guilty of a crime to be cancelled. Speedway is currently so low profile it probably wouldn't make much difference anyway 🤷‍♂️

I'm not sure all of those were in the entertainment industry, went to prison for a crime and then returned to the entertainment industry. And even for those that did 2026 is a very different time to when those in your list served their time in today's age it's quite a rarity. I'm comparing Garrity to Rolf Harris in as much as he was an entertainer and went to prison and never returned to the industry.

Not wishing to rain on your parade but surely the BSPL statement was the result of Leicester breaking ranks and issuing a statement.

It's very rare for released prisoners to reappear in the entertainment industry once they've served their sentence, in fact I can't think of a single one. Of course there are those that had previously served time and then gone on to better things, Stephen Fry, David Dickinson, Gino di Campo. But could you imagine Rolf Harris reappearing after he got released?

I fear it may also be too late for the Aussies and Yanks... more recently a lot of them have started their careers elsewhere in Europe rather than the UK, it's never too late to try and reverse that trend though.

You may get some joy if you post in the forum announcements section under support. I posted a topic on here a few months back about the state of this forum and the need for moderators... and he removed it 😂😂 So don't hold your breath on any improvements... I'm not sure why the guy that runs it does it, it must be costing him money and he never contributes or even seems that interested in speedway anymore. It's a shame if it ever went because there's 20 odd years of content and resource on here.

I think the club house has been demolished but the outline of a track is still there, the land is owned by Google I think... or was For a company with a net worth of $3tn and a company motto of "Do the right thing" for them to not build a community sports facility that would probably satisfy 99% of the complaints seems a bit penny pinching doesn't it 🤷‍♂️

Seriously though, that's how pie in the sky this mystery 6th track is, unless it's a returning club with a ready made fanbase, in the current climate it's doomed to fail imo.
