Don't worry, things are happening "behind the scenes" and there's 2 big things happening, one is 99% (that could have been Linda Lucardigate) and the other 90% and if they both come off... Speedway in the UK will be just like Polish Speedway, and you can take that to the bank 😂

I'm pretty sure you and others of this mindset will change your minds come March if the worst happens.

Now there really should be no excuse for entering a stadium only to find key riders missing when it comes to parade time. Should also be useful to be alerted that a match has been called off when you've already left home... that would have saved me a wasted trip from Leicester to Scotland the other year when it was called off half an hour after I'd left home, I didn't check until I'd crossed the border 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿😭😂

I think most people think, that what they did was harmless enough but was entirely symbolic of the thinking that runs Speedway in this country and it was all summed up in one short video.

I agree with almost everything you say I just don't think he'll learn how to ride closer to other riders by going to see a trick cyclist but by becoming a better motor cyclist and that'll only come with experience.

I do understand psychology but you can't just go to a psychologist and become a Speedway rider, you've got to gain experience, something Boughen just doesn't have and he was/is a king way off top level.

I think he still has a lot to offer and the best place for him to learn and gain this Speedway experience is an extended spell, 2 or 3 years, in the NDL imo, I don't think him seeing a shrink to talk him into how to be aggressive in a first bend will make any difference at all.

I think I'm right in saying that he's not had the speedway "education" that many of his contemporaries have had having only started Speedway at 15 years of age, many of the others have had around 10 years in the sport at that age and experienced many first bends at differing levels of the sport, Ashton had none and was fast tracked far too early for somebody with such little experience of Speedway.

What struck me was he said if anybody came to them for help it would be forthcoming, surely the BSPL should be proactively approaching any prospective speedway operations and offering them help, they shouldn't need to be asking for it.

Count me in, I'd probably go when the Lions aren't riding, like I used to Peterborough, Peterborough was a race track worth travelling for though...

Just listened to Rob Godfrey in full... Fair play to the host who asked all the right questions (eventually 😉) and also to Godfrey for responding to them. That's all I'm going to say about it really as there was a lot of "there's a lot going on behind the scenes" which I've heard too many times before in this sport only for nothing to materialise. Not filled with confidence when Godfrey couldn't even remember the name of the former MP that has joined SFL and he kept referring to SFL as "them" when he's on the board! Like I've said before Godfrey does a fine job at Scunny but should be nowhere near the top table of Speedway in the UK.

If those hopes came from anybody else other than the person that has led us to where we are today I'd be a bit more enthused... forgive me if I'm not 😢

Was he asked about Northampton? Or Ipswich? Or tv coverage? Or SFL? Or why the NDL has been stripped back to bare bones?
