  1. I don't follow any of the "save" groups on TwitterX (only Cov, I probably should follow the rest) but I generally always get to hear about any need for action through re-tweets and then post them on here under the relevant topic. So it does appear that the save Swindon reach is not as far as some of the others i.e. Coventry, Arena, Rye House etc. Which I do get to heat about... Just an observation.
  2. The "call to action" was only posted on TwitterX 6 days ago, doesn't give fans much time to act. I only actually saw it this morning and tried to notify others in here, only to realise it was too late. I'll send an email in now instead. I'm going to the 4TT tonight... Wayne Broadhurst is riding for Cov! He must be in his 50's!
  3. With question marks over the government's motability scheme I doubt the Glasgow promotion would be looking at bank rolling a promotion to the Premiership without the club being self sustaining, which I doubt it is even at Championship level.
  4. The thing is... I saw something on TwitterX from the save Swindon group with a link saying see our response to Studley Grange and The Abbey and a call to action, I followed the link, did as they suggested and register an account with Swindon Council so I could send my objections in only to find that the deadline for responses had passed sometime ago. I was in the process of copying the links to this topic for others to do the same. Without wishing to be disrespectful the save Swindon group seem to be a bit disorganised compared to other "Save" groups, Coventry being the gold standard. I'm sure they're doing their best but the lack of comments on this forum regarding Swindon tells it's own story really.
  5. He was nailed on for Belle Vue a few seasons back only it never happened!
  6. It says it all really when a family steeped in Speedway history doesn't want the sport at the stadium it owns and runs.
  7. If his TV career is over, he'd probably be looking at 2 leagues?
  8. But don't forget the happy clappy brigade will have you believe that Coventry, Peterborough, Cradley, Swindon & Wolves are all coming back and that Northampton are going to join them... just as the next club closes.
  9. Nothing too extravagant just a very tidy style on a bike
  10. 2 BSPL directors (half), Bates and Ford, although they will have involvement as the BSPL Company seems to own most of BSFL.
  11. Yes and no... Louis and Godfrey are directors of both companies, BSPL also has Damien Bates and Danny Ford... as usual it's a very tangled web speedway has weaved.
  12. Hmm πŸ€” But what is the "link" with 'Arry? He's not named on the board of directors. There's 4 directors: Godfrey, who has overseen the decline of British Speedway to it's current state. Louis: A forward thinking promoter and ex rider. Painter: He seems to have done a tremendous job in attracting sponsorship to the GB Speedway team despite that team rarely actually riding in this country. Clayton: No idea πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ BSPL Ltd are named as a person with significant control: Nature of control Ownership of shares – More than 50% but less than 75% Ownership of voting rights - More than 25% but not more than 50% All of the money put into the company, Β£32k, seems to have been put in by the BSPL. It very much seems to be a BSPL vehicle and not a great deal to do with 'Arry.
  13. Haha, it's already been done? I should have known πŸ˜‚
  14. That's not what Pareto's Law suggests πŸ€”
  15. And a 5's competition (and maybe a 3's and 4's also) ... I've been trying to think what is radical and not radical in normal terms but radical in BSPL terms and I've come up with a "guest" team! Something similar to the Harlem Globe Trotters (remember them?), so a team of riders not affiliated to any of the other 5 clubs that travel around to the other teams as part of the league programme, they did something similar years ago when they went 18 heats with the "ghost" rider. Of course it's completely ludicrous but just the type of thing the brains at BSPL towers are likely to come up with!
  16. And into another one by the looks of it they called another ambulance to take him away... better than a shopping trolley I suppose πŸ›’
  17. Have the club been concerned enough to release a press update? I'm not sure what you expect the rest of us to do? Ring the hospital?
  18. It's the trophy worth winning the least but somehow feels like the biggest achievement of the domestic season!
  19. Brilliant temperament from Scott, he's been the difference tonight and deserved to bring it over the line πŸ‘
  20. Generally it's been diabolical! Danny King had a good race in 8 but 12 was phenomenal!
