Not the first time he's done that, I commented on it when he used to ride for Leicester. You get the feeling that if he took the sport seriously (difficult I know) is that he could be a far far better performer than he already is, a Floppy Norris/Jason Doyle type, maybe not to Doyley standards but certainly Floppy. He seems happier to be a better than average journeyman than and clean up in the CL to supplement his bread and butter of being a plasterer. I think one of the main reasons may be, as you've mentioned many times, the lack of jeopardy... Ippo are in town! Come and see them! What's at stake? Well, nothing much really, it's just a qualifier But they may not qualify! It's almost impossible for them not to qualify They're the current league champions! But there's only 3 of those riders are in the team this year Okay come and see Tom Brennan & Tobias Musielak then! I'll catch them next time Ippo are in town, for the B fixture, a KO Cup tie or a play off tie... or any number of times over the course of this season as a guest rider Oh don't bother then! Okay π

If you're using the BSN app, yes, if you're watching it on a TV web browser, no, BSN keep saying it's likely/probably/possible that if you're used to watching it on a TV browser it will not work for everybody this season until the new TV specific apps are released in May. I watched the Worky match at the weekend, but not live, using the same setup as last year (TV browser) and it was fine, so I thought I was okay, but last night watching live, TV browser again, it crashed out twice, so I switched to watching it through my phone streamed/mirrored to my TV.

Watched it live tonight and my android browser did not like it, was okay for the Worky match but I didn't watch that live... mirrored it from my phone in the end. Not ideal, but the new TV apps are coming soon apparently

Rider insurance (or lack thereof)

I'm still waiting for a reply from them as to why they docked Workington league points last year... as soon as I get that I'll follow it up with this π -

A shame he was the only rider who could be arsed to come round and acknowledge the crowd though... compare that with the BSN meeting at Worky yesterday where it was noticeable that after the majority of races the winner went round to accept the applause of the crowd, both home and away riders... it costs nothing -
Rider insurance (or lack thereof)

Well, as far as I am aware, they're the only organising body to have made any statement about the issue at all. -

Did he get a pre-loved gown for winning rider of the night? π -
Mine was fine-ish, the screen was occasionally going black for a split second, but I watched it this evening and not live. Android TV using TVBro browser

It's sport and anything can happen (sometimes π) that's why we all follow it. I'm not one for making predictions as you can often end up with egg on your face and it's all a bit pointless imo, I much prefer to comment on what has happened. I was expecting a hiding at Sheffield last Thursday and unbelievably we came away with an 8 point win, it only takes 1 "decent" rider to have an off night, or the track to be not quite the "usual" and that can have a massive effect on the final result.

Rider insurance (or lack thereof)
IainB replied to Dave_minall's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Not sure where I got Β£0.30 a race from π€·ββοΈ But a fiver a race works out around Β£500 over the course of a 24 match season. But whatever it was, I assume it was a flat rate whatever your ability? Meaning the better riders subsided the less experienced riders? Seems a bit daft for the SCB to not be doing it anymore, they could even have skimmed Β£0.10 per race as an admin/arrangement fee. -
Rider insurance (or lack thereof)
IainB replied to Dave_minall's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Question: If in previous years riders were being deducted Β£0.30 per race was this a flat rate per rider covered under an agreement covering the whole league? If that is no longer the case and riders are responsible for their own insurance will lesser experienced riders be paying a higher premium than more accomplished riders? That's actually 2 questions... π€ -
Yes, just received my notification of today's meeting π

As an aside, from memory, Kylie Howarth was the only rider to come round for applause from the crowd after his heat 7 victory, great crowd engagement? -

There was some good close racing last night, Jack Holder looked like a World Champion when passing Masters and then Morris but strangely was a pretty distant 3rd in heat 13... even Drew Kemp made a pass! -
