  1. Nice to see the Poole's "neutral" machine examiner helping Anders Rowe with his machine in the pits πŸ˜‚
  2. A 5 team league (if that's what you can call it) is very much the business as usual model, which has been proven not to work over the last 30 years. It's not the radical change that has been mooted.
  3. I remember on course betting at Cov and Sheffield... and Bees were sponsored by Victor Chandler for a while and SkyBet were also league sponsors for a short time
  4. Betting was introduced some time back (noughties?) but just seemed to peter out for some reason probably another case of the sports authorities not grasping that particular nettle and working with the betting companies to onboard them as partners?
  5. Start saving now, Β£2 a week may just get you a ticket!
  6. They call them "Goons" πŸ˜‚
  7. Ryan Terry-Daley, a 31-year-old speedway rider from Waiuku, Auckland, died in a single-vehicle car crash on Aka Aka Road in Waikato on October 5, 2025. His death was not a result of a speedway track incident. Details of the crash: The incident occurred early in the morning, with emergency services called to the scene just before 5:30 a.m.. Media reports indicate it was a wet night with heavy storms, and Daley was believed to have been the sober driver. Police are still investigating the specific circumstances of the crash. Following his death, the speedway community in New Zealand and the UK paid tribute to Daley, who was a mentor and champion racer.
  8. Seriously though if the Hearns did want to get involved in Speedway (which I'm pretty sure they don't) then the SGP series would probably be the way to go. It has a proven track record by the previous promoters to WBD staging events in big stadia at destination cities attracting big crowds and you could argue was on the cusp of going mainstream at that time, so it's been proven that it can be done and an audience is out there, the series is just missing the characters for the public to get involved with, the razzamataz, the hype etc.
  9. I know... but they are outdoor as are the big boxing shows, probably more like staging a SGP than a league programme.
  10. They do Fish O Mania, which unbelievably gets TV coverage (Sky Sports) https://fishomania.net/watch-live/ And he setup the PGA EuroPro Tour which had a 20 year run. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PGA_EuroPro_Tour
  11. I was thinking earlier who was the originator of the tassle. I remember Ray Bales wearing them, not sure if the whole Mildenhall team did?
  12. Their big boxing shows are often outdoors
  13. They were just seeing out the final year of the 5 year Eurosport contract that was delayed for 1 year due to the non covid season of 2020. BT Sport had already previously binned Speedway off at the end of 2019 so it's no real surprise that they don't want to renew now.
  14. Dark Chocolate covered Hob-Nobs or Rich Tea's πŸ€”
  15. Rocketfuelman had another poor night by his standards
  16. As good as BSN is for a niche streaming service it doesn't come close to broadcast standard in terms of technical quality, there's no way any broadcaster worth their salt would show any content other than the types of snippets we saw on TNT from their "secondary" matches.
  17. Actually the Chris Harris interview took place after the Super Golden Heat and the Lawson & Cook interviews took place before the trophy presentation. Not everybody is on the vile social media platform that is Facebook and I don't think it's too much to expect, as paying subscribers to the BSN service, to see and hear from the winning (and losing, if they are willing) riders and management instead of watching a firework display, which never comes across great on tv despite broadcasters (not just BSN) always being drawn to them. Generally another good season of coverage though πŸ‘πŸ»
  18. The highlights option is probably better for appealing to potential punters but I doubt that would come with much money. The TV sports broadcasters want their air time filled and advertisement windows filled and in a lot of cases they are prepared to pay ridiculous amounts of money to do this, that's what a TV deal should/would/could bring.
  19. Okay, got it, I misread your previous post that clearly stated it was abandoned πŸ‘
