Tell that to the promotion at Belle Vue, they've got the best track in the world, consistently produces top class speedway racing and yet can't get anywhere close to filling their stadium for a league match with a catchment area of around 2.7 million people

It's difficult to know what your friend is looking for then... The match against Scunny had some of the best racing I've seen at BP in years, if she wasn't entertained by that I suspect she doesn't like Speedway and prefers maths

I'm all for clubs assembling a team to suit their budgets but there has to be some minimum standard to compete in whatever league. There used to be a minimum limit, not sure there still is though? Didn't Milton Keynes get booted out of the league in the late 80's/ early 90's? Somebody did. This Newcastle team should be in the NL. Some of the names might be recognisable but only because they've been around for a while and not for any achievement: BWD: Never shown anything to suggest he's anything other than a PL reserve, not a CL heat leader Wethers: Solid team journeyman, good for No2 James Wright: Who knew that Charles was going to be the good one! James is a long way off from being the rider he used to be Cleggy: Been around for years, has never moved on from being a decent reserve Starky: Solid team journeyman, maybe a good 3rd heat leader Lee Complin: I'll give him a month Congreve: The next Ivan Mauger?

from what I've been to so far: Josh Auty - about the same as a League Match vs Leicester Peter Craven - almost a sell out Leicester vs Scunny - a little disappointing, well down on last year Ben Fund - about the same as a league meeting Peterborough vs Ippo - disappointing for a local derby

KL never slow to pat themselves on the back when they luck into getting it right... but strangely silent when they luck into getting it wrong
