  1. It very much remains to be seen if any of these names progress on to become more than 2nd Division level talent, with the exception of Lambert who does seem to be making great progress. Don't forget we've seen lots of names over the years fail to realise their true potential. Whether that be through lack of ambition or lack of opportunity. Well done Lambo!
  2. Now that's what I call an apology... Not coming on here and not apologising
  3. Is this your idea of an apology to fans? You seem to be patting yourself on the back more than apologising.
  4. The thing is though who decides what is relevant to the British public. I've no problem at all watching women in sport, atheletcs, tennis, cycling, swimming, gymnastics... Whatever. What I object to are the sports that are being force fed to us as part of a movement. It's quite clear that there is an agenda in certain quarters when you're getting women's version of certain sports (football & cricket especially) leading the sports headlines compared to the men's equivalent, despite playing in front of huge empty stadiums. Speedway already manages to do this without the help of the media
  5. Depends if he becomes transgender... Then almost certainly yes!
  6. It's always amazed me the ages of the competitors and the viewers in speedway is so wide... Is there any other "sport" with such a gap?
  7. It was a good job it was somebody in the stadium at all... What if it had been a disgruntled resident or cinema goer? You have to wonder what the steward's were doing while he parked up in front of the gates!
  8. You don't know that as nobody has tried. You do tend to show a bit of a defeatist attitude, as shown with your posts on the SoN thread. It's a good job everybody doesn't take the same attitude of not even trying to do things or we'd all still be living in the dark ages.
  9. How do you know this? a world championship event hasn't been tried in the US since the 80's has it? The WTC's at long beach? If you're not even prepared to try, at a less costly venue, you're never going to break into the market. It's been proved the only countries that can sustain large stadium venues are Poland, UK and Denmark. Sweden, Germany, Australia all had large stadium events that ultimately failed before moving back to more modest stadia in the Swedish and German cases. The risk should have been taken years ago in the States to cash in on Hancock's "star" appeal and capture the imagination of the next generation of US riders, it maybe too late now, a missed opportunity while the organisers were messing around in Finland, Italy, Germany and Latvia
  10. You're right, let's forget all about it and have them all in Poland
  11. Have a look on Google earth there's an American football/atheletcs stadium a couple of hundred yards up the road
  12. Anyway... Doesn't have to be Costa Mesa speedway track, they can lay a track anywhere, maybe an atheletcs track that has grandstand a or something in the Costa Mesa area, it's just that speedway at Costa Mesa has been proven to work. My point is more that I think it would be better to hold a GP at proven venues/areas in non speedway countries where you know you'll draw a core crowd in and then heavily promote it to bring in floaters. The mistake in Australia particularly was hiring out huge stadiums
  13. I think Leicester is an FIM standard track... Who'd want to watch a GP there
  14. No I've not... Just trying to come up with ideas of why it can happen rather than shutting people down all the time on why it can't. Was Krsko suitable for a GP? Terenzano? Etc. Etc. God forbid that Speedway should be fun. These are the best riders in the world, it's a world championship, they should be able to ride all tracks. Where was the monster energy thing run the other year?
  15. After some of the crap that has been served up track wise over the years and also recently, shouldn't be an issue. They make the rules up as they go along as regards qualification and reserves, so they could do the same with the track
  16. Probably Costa Mesa, that's the place that has the history and heritage
  17. Doyley was giving it out in this match too, he forced Berge out on the first turn I one race and effectively ended his race
  18. Agreed, as a stand alone race I think it was better, but when you add in what was riding on the 2 races, play off place or KOC Final appearance, maybe the first was better. Just goes to show there are many ingredient that go to make a fantastic race. All I know is I'm privileged to be able to go to the NSS every week at the moment
  19. Australia and NZ not financially viable at those venues. USA, perhaps BSI/IMG should run the first few and take the risk to prove it could be financially viable at the right venue. I don't believe Vojens can't make it pay if the likes of Prague, Germany and Slovenia can. Anyway, well done to Leon Madsen! It'll be great to see him in the GP series next year
  20. A bold prediction Aces will either do it or they won't I hope they do, to keep the season alive so I can watch more great speedway while I'm up here, I fear the track may be too fair to pull back such a deficit though, BV never tend to win big at the NSS
