  1. I thought last nights match was the most entertaining yet this season at BP. It started off quite well with a cracker of a race in heat 1 on a perfectly prepared track... I was then prepared for a sun delay which never came, which was a bonus. If I had to have a moan, which of course I do, it would be the lack of watering of the track, again it became slick and dusty all too quickly in the cold drying wind. Like I said it was perfect in heat 1 and no real attempt was made to keep it that way throughout the match
  2. Kingy seems to have a team spot for the season every where he ends up. A constant under performer where ever he's been, especially when under pressure... but at least he turns up every week
  3. Ah, but tennis is a sport for people that don't really like sport
  4. Well he was at Luton Airport Parkway railway station 1 hour ago
  5. Nobody interested in this? Looks like DD has got his way in silencing the internet crowd! I wonder if they'll water the track tonight? And would a half decent race be asking too much?
  6. I'm new to watching Polish Speedway and I must say I was expecting better racing than what I've seen so far. I was expecting it to be more up to GP standard with the quality of riders on view but it's closer to gate and go British Speedway I've said many times that British Speedway should market itself as an extreme sport and not continue with the family sport promotion. The old codgers (myself included) will continue to turn up come what may. Look at the divide between the ages of those in the pits to those on the terraces!! I watched a virtual race on Coral.co.uk the other day and it was far more entertaining than anything I've seen so far this season at Leicester! And the race was only 2 laps... perhaps that's the way to go
  7. Man, that was dull! Again! Yes the scoreline was close which made it better than last week but again the track was dry and dusty with no attempt to water it during any of the "races", for the 2nd week running. I've probably seen 2 half decent races out of 30 so far this season at Leicester. Why don't they just pull the track up and start again... Well done Swindon
  8. That's OK if you're just treating it as a one off match... but this is league Speedway
  9. Well that's just wrong isn't it... If Nick Morris gets a long term injury for example Swindon can choose any guest (willing to do it) from all teams in the league except 2 every week. If for example NKI gets a long term injury KL can only choose a guest from Swindon or the other team who aren't riding that Monday/Wednesday... how is that fair?
  10. It was nice to hear Mylo's "Motherf**ker's gonna drop the pressure" being played over the PA... I've always said that Speedway should market itself as an extreme sport and it's good to see Somerset reaching out to the kids
  11. I know! It was the announcer that said hot off the press
  12. Just been announced "hot off the press" no MPT
  13. I noticed this also, one was red and one was orange. I've seen red lights occasionally on riders bikes before but not 2 and not orange
  14. From Somerset website: TeamsRebels: Jason Doyle (Capt), Jake Allen, Charles Wright, Jack Holder, Richard Lawson, Jonas Jeppesen, Bradley Wilson-Dean - team managed by Garry MayLions: Chris Harris (guest), Michael Palm-Toft, Danny King (Capt), Krystian Pieszczek, Hans Andersen, James Sarjeant, Kyle Newman - team managed by Simon Stead Michael Palm-Toft who, too, hurt his ankle, but is expected to take his place in the Lions' outfit. From Leicester website: SOMERSET: Jason Doyle, Jake Allen, Charles Wright, Jack Holder, Richard Lawson, Jonas Jeppesen, Bradley Wilson-Dean. LEICESTER: Chris Harris, Michael Palm Toft R/R, Danny King, Krystian Pieszczek, Hans Andersen, James Sarjeant, Kyle Newman. whilst rider-replacement continues as cover for Michael Palm Toft, who hopes to return next week from his own ankle injury
  15. Well, again, you may as well be talking to yourself as nobody else has the first clue what you're going on about! You little tease
  16. Wow! What a dull match, Somerset were an absolute shower in the first few races. It was long, drawn out, too many restarts, barely any decent racing to make comment on, the track was too dry and it was blummin cold, about as bad as it gets... And then we get Dave Darcy on the PA telling us to stop speculating on who the new signing is going to be!!! If there was something else to talk about then perhaps we would
  17. If you know who it is why don't you just come out and say it? What's with all the I know and you don't business? Dave Darcy did come on the PA last night and ask people not to speculate who the new signing would be and while I don't agree with Dave Darcy's thought police approach this is the worst kind of I know something you don't speculation. Flagrag your post are normally more informative and better than this
  18. Is nobody else concerned to read Nick Morris saying “ It’s taken for someone to get hurt who probably won’t race in England again after that for us to call it off."
  19. I thought they were just dotting the i's and crossing the t's... that's the last I heard on the Long Eaton return... was about 15 years ago though
  20. Am I cynical for thinking that the promoter is only doing the cheapest speedway option available so he can get his promoters licence back, his assets unfrozen and then sell everything off and cash his chips in?
  21. A song called "The Distance" by a band called "Cake"
  22. Do people still watch England playing Football?
  23. The whole "Sport" is geared up to home wins, it's what the punters want, it's what gets the crowds in, the less chance of an away team using tacticals and snatching a win the better... in the self interested promoters eyes
