I'm not sure the line-up is that poor, the British Final has always only had 2 or 3 riders that were capable of winning it. When I first started going to them it was Tatum vs Wigg, then you had the Havvy vs Andy Smith(!!) years, Loram v Louis v Screen, Nicholls vs Harris... then for a while Woffy and Lambert went missing, now they're back. The rest of the field was always made up of, let's put it politely, lesser lights. As for making it a multi round competition on a Saturday night, returning to compete in your national championship is compulsory is it not? It seems to be for other nationalities.

Even the Scunny website said as much, maybe Mr @phillwhitewasmad will be dropping them a line?

I don't know about anybody else but all I want from my Speedway is to see a close match, preferably (but not essentially) with my team winning, a sprinkling of good competitive racing, run in a timely manner and to not go home covered in dust. It's not too much to ask is it? These days not all of those 5 key things are consistently met. I don't think that being branded a "Keyboard Warrior" when saying when any one of those things has not been met is the right way to address it. It's the type of statement a Speedway promoter makes and has gotten the sport into the state it is currently in.

All very laudable and the ducks do very much seem to be in a row, but... There are 2 comments that really need addressing before anything can happen: "assuming of course that control of the venue can be secured" "Gaining control of the stadium and restoring it for motorsports" Sadly, until this issue is addressed and resolved, nothing is going to happen. It would be nice to hear what is happening and what can be done to secure "control of the stadium". Keep up the good fight 💪

Not so sure about the PCM, I'd say at least 50% of that is made up of travelling supporters, I'm just judging that by the dreadful turnout at the next televised match and that was against Ippo, BSN covered both. There's no doubt that moving the event back to a Monday night after the visible success of the Saturday night staging of last year is the commercial decision of an imbecile! You can only think that TV had a say in this but sometimes you've got to stand up for your own business as running to an empty stadium is not a good luck for anybody. I've thought for a few years now that the British Championship should be staged GP style over a number of rounds to encourage riders to take part and do away, to some extent, home track advantage... and end up with a final round at the NSS

It'll be interesting to find out exactly what's gone off here. The track prep in general, for the meetings I've seen so far this year, has left a lot to be desired, slick, dusty blue groves seem to be the order of the day because they refuse to put enough water on the tracks during meetings

It sounds like the tanks under the centre green may have run dry... if that's the case it's difficult to imagine how they're going to prepare a track for Thursday?

Warsaw GP Saturday 17th May

We'll see... Wouldn't believe anything the current lot say until tickets go on sale. -
What the flip happened at Leicester this afternoon? Taken from updates: "Meeting abandoned as all the water supply has been exhausted." This is a new one, even for me after 50 years watching Speedway! Doesn't bode well for Thursday.

"Was a decent nights racing with some good heats" what a rivetingly positive read! You're not going to mention Steve Worrall's paid max and Luke Harrison's his first in the CL and from the No2 position! How brilliant the Kennedy Bro's have been so far this season, best reserves in the league?

Go on then... the floor is yours, knock yourself out, let's hear it, is that all you have to say? Sounds like you want others to do it for you?

I'm not sure it is personally...certainly not like when TNT/Eurosport/Sky are in town. I just think that certain promotions make zero effort to make any time up if/when incidents happen, whether that be air fence deflations or extended track grading. Yes it was a 7pm parade on a Saturday night with what looked like loads of kids in (judging by the "track invasion") but there was a match to get on.
