Kent? Reading? Nelson? Poole? surnames are also tracks... so that's 4/7 - Jeremy as no.8 and Kieran as no.9 perhaps

I also seem to remember an epic from Monmore in the 80s, the four team tournament finals I think. That seemed to last for ever. I was there - 48 heats.

when a speedway meeting takes longer than a round of golf one wonders who can spare the time if one has a family to think about...

Wildcards 2017.....
Mike.Butler replied to Panthers89's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
In which case why only have 1 wildcard per meeting? Not sure this is the primary criteria -
Aside from Cradley this Saturday can anyone in the know advise whether Stoke are planning on running any further home meetings this season? I want to visit to complete all tracks this season, but am beginning to worry they might (again) not race all their home league meetings. I know Malcolm has given me some stick re this when we last spoke but why haven't they got dates for any of their outstanding fixtures?

National Speedway Stadium - Too Sanitized?
Mike.Butler replied to Little Thumper's topic in National League Speedway
For some peculiar reason I feel less inclined to drive from Liverpool to Sussex via the National Stadium than I did to go to Kirky Lane.. I think it must be to do with 'sanitisation' as suggested earlier. Very odd. But then how will I feel about Brentford's new ground when its built compared to 50+ years going to Griffin Park.. maybe the same...Anyway, I promise to make more of an effort..maybe its just getting used to the place -

the one single thing that would help enormously is full strength sides week in week out from April-September (so that's two things) -

Second Half Ideas.....
Mike.Butler replied to heathen chemistry's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
This season Wolverhampton have run 6 junior heats with up to 8 riders in attendance. I stay and watch (I'd be a hyprocrite if I didn't!). Having just 4 riders continually riding against one another heat after heat isn't great; but when it's 6 or 8 it is of more interest. -
the smell the noise the adrenalin a relatively small no. of participants meaning you feel as though you almost know them personally my statistics
