swindon to oxford isn't far is it? -
every track get a big 2 minute clock. any rider not stationery and ready to race at 0.00 to be excluded.. all I know is something has to be done as it is really is getting tedious...

What a shocking way to treat fans (again!) This was a complete own goal by the Eastbourne promotion and the referee. Don't they get it.??..Keeping us waiting around for ages for something to happen for no good reason at all is driving the few remaining of us away. The roving reporter did his best but honestly, not a single bad crash and yet we were there for 3 hours to see 15 heats...pathetic!! The referee was absolutely useless at getting on with things allowing riders far too much time between re-runs. Too many restarts for unsatisfactory starts - why can't they change the rules...let the race run and disqualify a rider for moving...something HAS to be done or we should go back to old rules before its too late. After the ref had decided to wander over to the pits it was said there would be an interval, fair enough, he then ambles back and I think we're all ready to go, riders on bikes, track staff in place. but no! we then had to wait for the tractors to start watering again! it beggars belief that they treat spectators in this way.. sad sad sad and another thing..do they really think we believed that heat after heat was timed at either 60.0 dead or 61.0 dead???.. ..why not say the only stopwatch has broken...why make things up?

congrats brummies, however, shame only Tom Perry managed to ride in the 2nd half though.. bit unprofessional of the others I thought and disrespectful to fans and the charity -

Chatting to the big guy at Belle Vue last night he wasn't sure whether he and his team would be utilised at the new stadium. If not it would be a loss as imv they are the best in the country at what they do. Customer focus and all that.....

...and despite all this the IOW are still apparently rejoining the party!

I still go regularly (to various tracks), but there is no doubt that 15 heats in 2.5 hours is trying my patience....personally I think that providing less than 20 heats is poor value

Is It Time To Re-introduce Tape Touching?
Mike.Butler replied to IainB's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Quite. Instead of a 2 minute time allowance the refs should be given a 1 minute one(or even 30 seconds) for these sort of situations -
is this still on or is it now vs kent?

i think the speedway team were called Holland in those uninformed days weren't they?

Redcar V Edinbrugh (pl) 25/6/15 @ 7.30pm

I will be there. -
As one of the record low Coventry 1st team fixture 'crowd' on Monday I feel a free programme offer would be appropriate if I present my re-admission ticket (well the little bit they gave me back after it was ripped in 2) the next time I visit. Least they can do for me being a 'hero' in attending.. Pike! don't tell them I was actually just passing by that way anyway so sort of attended by accident...

Brummies V Buxton Wed 3rd June
Mike.Butler replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in National League Speedway
thought ref awarded a couple of races when he could have re-run. think we were short changed by 8 laps or so... enjoyable meeting otherwise..closer up to heat 13 than I expected. -
I know I attended well aware of the weather forecast but I was passing anyway. However, am I going to be reimbursed for only seeing 9 actual races involving both teams?

Scrap The Controversial Heat 10 Rule!
Mike.Butler replied to heathen chemistry's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
i heard several mutterings on the way out last night from disillusioned Coventry fans who said sky/promoters insisting on running meetings when the weather forecast clearly suggests a meeting will not run its course is short-changing fans. Another example of driving fans away.. what an awful damp squib that was. Personally I think the promotion owes us some money as we only saw 9 races with both side competing. -
Swindon Robins V Coventry Bees 26th May 2015

Rob Godfrey was critical of his Scunny team on Monday saying he had put loads of dirt on the outside but only the Somerset team were using it pass. Riding the kerb at Normanby Road is not the quickest way around. -
Scottish Speedway Offer
Mike.Butler replied to TheScotsman's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
talk about trying to run before you can walk! and anyway, joining an EL that is shrinking doesn't sound like a good idea to me... the future is an amalgamation at PL level..so best to be in t when t happens -
Islanders Fans Forum This Thursday...
Mike.Butler replied to Bryn's topic in National League Speedway
ok, i'm pleased this is good news but............ 1. what on earth is the break even crowd figure going to be for a) NL and PL? 2. how much is the ferry fare going to be for a) riders and mainland spectators? 3. will meetings run with the return ferry in mind a) transport so we can alwsys see the whole meeting? I'd hate this exercise to result in false hope for all concerned, but when looking at crowds when I was there before it closed I estimate that on occasions it was only just into 3 figures.. If they pull this off I will be as knocked out as I was when visiting Ashfield last week. damn good luck to you guys -
well, what an enjoyable evening. I am so glad I may the effort to get up to Ashfield. As soon as you enter through the new entrance lobby you are struck by how professional it all seems. Really encouraging to be on a packed terrace close to the action and a good atmosphere. Recommend you al try and get there this season.
