In the averages there was three riders miles ahead of the rest and already Maciej Janowski has declared himself out of British Speedway next season as he aims to build on his GP career. Jason Doyle has said he won't be back at Leicester and on 9.44 and Iversen just under 9 the next highest is under 8 points a meeting and it could be difficult to accommodate riders on such high averages. Freddie Lindgren on 6.11 has to be considered as the one rider to keep from this season's team and it looks like PK is not planning on coming back. Jacob and Ricky are fine at home but poor away scores must put any places for next season unlikely and a move for Andersen or Schlein should be a better rider if the team are to pick up points away Could Swindon being unsettled mean Zengota, Batchelor or Morris be looking for a new team instead of hanging on waiting

How Many El Teams In 2016?
INCOGNITO replied to Bradford Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Will it be an Elite League or one big league under a new name ? -
By all means plan on Holder Watt North Dudek etc but Poole could be the only team wanting or able to field a team in the Elite League as it is now. Whatever the limits are next year it will still see Ford and Midlo putting together a title chasing team.
-
Sam Masters wasn't far away from the rostrum on Monday and could see him finally getting a chance at Monmore Green but if it was going to one big league surely he would be a heat leader and would they sign him and be able to keep Lindgren Thorssell and sign Andersson. Ashley Morris could be heading back and Max Clegg seems to be well thought of at Wolverhampton. Paul Starke would have to be considered as he goes well here and has had a great year in both leagues.

Thought this thread is WOLVERHAMPTON 2016 not Woffinden 2014 Get over it for Christ sake

Tai had a bad 2014 season Get over it and look forward to next season or should we start a debate about Neil Evitts coming in on a 6.58 and leaving just over 3 despite being at reserve. It happens and is history. Move on
-
A few things posted on here need putting to bed. Tai rode in the Gorzow GP this year and scored 18 points on a bike he used every week at Monmore Green in 2014 so hardly sub standard equipment. Britain holds no appeal to most of the top riders so why not blame Pedersen for coming back as he lives in England or Hancock for not riding here. The wages in Poland for these riders is in another level and one ride there can be the same as a high score here. Kasprzak has been reported in saying he wants to race in England again but where does it say with Wolverhampton ? One big league at Premier League standard looks like the best option and if it means no more GP standard riders and more young riders then so be it. Will be interesting what some Swedes do when there is a clash of Thursday night matches ?

Davey Watt and Dakota North as heat leaders next season with Newman and Gomolski backing them up ? Seems to be the way things are going for next season as the Elite League crumbles into oblivion
-
Bomber made the statement he is open to offers for next season when asked where he will be next year at Monmore Green tonight. Is he looking at getting out while he can or just a basic answer to speculate. Either way it seemed to be very much that teams will not be as strong next season and if Bomber stays he should be number one with Garrity also a heat leader. Get ready for a watered down Elite League or one big league with 20 or so teams
-
Joel Anderson showed up well and looked at home on the track and should be useful asset next season and in the strength of teams that are being talked about Freddie Lindgren should be a good number one. It looks like being a very different set up next year and it looks like it's either one big league or an Elite League made up from affordable riders that can commit to a season of 20 home and 20 away matches. Rumours go around and possibly four or five of tonight's line up could be the basis of the team next season that could point to one big league with a limit around 42.50 set up from Premier league averages But that is just a rumour that appears to have some sense to it when you consider how some tracks are struggling and top class riders are leaving the shores to race abroad. Britain could have gone for a strong Elite League run one night a week or combine with the Premier league and it looks like the Elite League is about to be buried.
-
While there is going to be speculation on who is going to be the new number one next season it has to be seen if there is even going to be an Elite League in 2016. Swindon have lost their stadium and work hasn't even started on a new one next door but new houses have gone up next to it. Lakeside are likely to close and while Kent are to take on their licence it doesn't mean they are going to be in the Elite League at all. Speedway has to have a major change but it will probably just change a few things that are not important
-
Peter Karlsson to join Coventry then Think the only rider that should be considered for next year is Fredrik Lindgren on a 6.11 average and while Ricky has had some good scores for the same average you have Dakota North and Kenneth Bjerre who can score away from home.

Elite League 2016 - What Is Required?
INCOGNITO replied to 1 valve's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As next year only Wolves would be a Monday track and no team a ride on a Tuesday because of Sweden and not many cam operate on a Sunday due to Poland. That leaves little room for movement with the other tracks who are in the Premier League happy with what they have by and large. Getting the two leagues to work together is the big gesture stumbling block ahead. -
Elite League 2016 - What Is Required?
INCOGNITO replied to 1 valve's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
For some they don't like Monday with the mad rush between Poland and Sweden but it is the extra flights and meetings added on Wednesday or Thursday or Friday that burns them out and affects their scoring and earnings elsewhere. Woffinden has stated he would be looking for one night a week and we already have Iversen Holder Ward Lindgren etc that have been here already. I am sure you would see the big names return even if it's for half the time and while it would mean possibly a £20 fee it would be value for money when you look at the prices for the ELRC or other big events. It would be beneficial to have an Elite League that is strong but overall British Speedway needs to concentrate on regular speedway at a lower level and price in most cases -
Elite League 2016 - What Is Required?
INCOGNITO replied to 1 valve's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The Elite League needs to survive as it is a platform for riders to either achieve or get extra meetings by doubling up. However drastic changes are required but it needs the Elite and Premier League to work with each other in order to get British Speedway on a more secure footing for the future. The Elite League needs to either be made bigger to create more fixtures and more frequent home meetings than the 14 at present over a 30 week period or it has to go Mondays only and encourage big names to rerun as part of a so called squad system. There is suggestions saying tracks could then compete in both leagues to create a squad and more consistent home fixture list. This however needs to be with Elite tracks also fielding a team of Premier League strength and not like before getting the others to improve. It could work but would fans only be interested in the big meetings and cut down on matches they attend ? Maybe they would but it could go the opposite way and be just what is required to get British Speedway back in the present day. It appears that many are now thinking the Elite League should finish and all be in one big league again and that would give variety of different opposition. However with the Elite League using the current format riders like Lindgren Andersen and Bjerre could be used and that would see current Elite League tracks dominating the results with such riders. Whichever way it goes it needs stripping back and rebuilding from scratch if it is to continue or improve the service offered to the paying public -
Musielak is going to be a bargain next season for Wolves and available for every match as long as he can get his arm injury mended properly. The rest depends on how much loyalty they give to club assets instead of new faces

Wolverhampton Vs King's Lynn- Monday 3 August
INCOGNITO replied to scottrocks's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Kings Lynn did well last night and only silly mistakes cost them a point from this one. Iversen letting Thorssell through in heat one and Branford letting Clegg catch him in heat 12 before falling under pressure. Plus Milik losing control and flipping his bike and lucky to see the bike land just to the side of his head. Wolves made a few mistakes too like Thorssell hitting the tapes and Musielak injuring his arm again winning his third ride but the one mistake Kings Lynn did was heat 13 and not getting Morris to touch the tapes enabling Iversen to be off gate 2 instead of 4 against Lindgren and Karlsson. Overall Kings Lynn got 8 from Lambert rides and overall just ran short in the end to a more consistent team -

I think calling the meeting off now would be appropriate for Kings Lynn and the sport -

Best wishes to Lewis Kerr. -
Swindon have put together a very strong team and on paper they were much stronger than Wolves and that proved to be the case on the track as well. Zengota may have a GSA of just 5.62 but he is averaging over 8 a meeting here and in Poland and should not be underestimated. What Wolves fans forget or don't realise is that he used to come to Monmore Green before Swindon ever approached him as he rode at Zielona Gora with Freddie and came across quite a few Mondays.

Wolverhampton Wolves Vs Poole Pirates 20/07/2015
INCOGNITO replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Wolves have relied too much on home form in recent years and at present under this ridiculous format they are not strong enough to challenge a top heavy team like Poole who will clearly be looking for at least three points here. Maciej has had a few poor rides at Monmore Green but has also had some good ones too and his confidence is sky high at the moment and top of the averages while Holder looks like his old self again each meeting he rides in . Watt and North have both done well in the past while Newman and Stark have both been neigh unbeatable around here in the past and should be looking at 5-1 wins in both reserve races. If it goes to form it will be about 38-52 but I can see Wolves making a fight of it and making it 46-44 either way -
Kings Lynn may be missing two key figures but r/r should be adequate for Milik and Fricke is no slow coach compared to the current state of form of the Wolves team. So they have switched the heat leaders around to try and get them firing which is a bit like a vet moving the legs of lamb around in a butchers to bring it back to life. PK v Iversen heat one will be ideal for the veteran to start the night after only one point in Sweden last night. Wells and Karlsson may be useful as second strings but even this weakened team of Kings Lynn should be too strong for Wolves but the performance of Thorssell recently and Musielak possibly looking forward to a big track Wolves could surprise a few. Home win by 10 or more

Should Rosco Still Be Team Gb Manager
INCOGNITO replied to robert72's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
TEAM GB MANAGER A person employed to select and work with the best people he feels suited for a team place from those eligible to be selected. SWINDON TEAM MANAGER A person employed for the on track management of the team to ensure all are doing well and as long as they are eligible to be selected he will choose the best line up that is made available to him regardless of nationality. Team changes however are to be done by the owners promoters and management in order to field the best line up possible. Would say it is unlikely to affect Howarth as Coventry are likely to add him to the line up soon it appears
