  1. They did say stuff it originally only got Ryan as Redcarr was called off
  2. Wouldn't be to sure on that reckon the track could be exactly the same plenty of water on before
  3. In fairness the track prior to the start was only slightly wetter than it would be for a meeting on a hot summers evening. Poole were the ones who short changed the public with there lack of drive to race. Remember the ref makes the call if it's fit to race and fair play to him . Could of been a better meeting but not everyone is a classic.
  4. Track was good until rain hit prior to start and was probably the worst meeting I have seen for several years at scunny . However only one team wanted to race the majority of the other just rode . Tac sub heat 8
  5. Would tell me there is no reconstruction happening and going to have same old double up and down rubbish
  6. In fairness he has been the best rider on show at scunny all season
  7. Don't Berwick and Leicester count Saturday as there main nights
  8. I would like to know which riders Were forced into this
  9. Probably £70 a point would you let your workmate earn money whilst you get nothing for doing same job
  10. No I fully understand the point and in fairness I despise the doubling up of riders . My point is Peterborough new a rider was already signed for another club it was there choice to use him so can be no complaints. Doubling up will continue as long as clubs carry on selecting the same riders
  11. In fairness jordan palin is our rider was signed to scunthorpe first so can't see any problem with that if Peterborough wanted to they could of used another rising star
  12. I'm with you on helmets but in fairness lots of riders are not paying for mechanics the work is done on lots of occasions by friends, family or junior riders looking for experience. The pits become an intense place during a meeting and riders are busy passing on info to others changing helmet covers and cleaning goggles between heats especially in today's climate were fans like meetings pushed on time is limited. Clutch coolers are needed as the potential to burn it out if running to hot is very high. Surely £100 for a cooler that lasts years is better than burning up a full set of clutch plates and alloys which cost over £200
  13. Strange year for 500 a couple injured and some not opting to ride and some who are eligible stayed 250 ,
  14. Good morning Martin not old enough be involved in the Poultec scheme so can't comment
  15. There is a train of thought that kids can't ride prepared tracks and they need to be slick but if they don't have the chance to ride them how would they know. We did the Scunthorpe v Leicester challenge last year as part of the 250 group and the track was somewhere between championship and National league preparation and the boys coped admirably. Have done very few second half's this year as was finding it was just an exercise in learning how to change tyres and I already knew how to do that . unfortunately we don't have a dedicated trading system like the Poles , Germans, Danes and Swedes the majority of our training is pay £40 and queue up. There have been some good sessions with Jason crump though but sadly not enough . Personally think we could do with someone different at each level 125, 250 and 500 to pass on information and educate riders and parents He is loving it and enjoying at the moment but as the years go by and the nearer it gets to reality of potentially league racing the more intense it gets
  16. Servicing is done by Sean wilson and Robbie Kessler . Is not the maintenance for me it's set ups ,jetting ,timing up a tooth down a tooth shorten it up lengthen it up and the rest . I get good feed back from the pilot but it is interpreting it from what he says to what I see when he's riding . Constantly when we have been away we have nobody with this type of knowledge with us .
  17. Very good post and a good assessment of speedway in uk . As the parent of a young rider we have seen the level that European riders are in terms of ability against our lads and in all honesty it's not so much what they do on the bike it's more about the set ups. These lads all have constant training on all aspects of the sport with national coaches who also travel with them for meetings. We have occasional days with current and former riders which is more based on track than in the pits. The days are ok but are always run on slick tracks with no preparation done to them , after speaking with our counter parts the always practice on fully prepared race tracks . There is no help for the parent who has to do the spanner work and in all honesty even though I'm quite mechanically minded I do believe there's not much more I can do and without guidance I don't know how much more I can do or teach my lad. His natural talent will only take him so far then it's about small marginal gains which without more help at this stage we won't know how to get them
  18. Personally think £10 is a bit much but will be some good racing on show . The 250 class is the strongest this year and usually provides the best action
  19. Kemp would be a good addition but a big no thanks to kennet
  20. Theo is in Poland for world long track unsure on tero
