  1. It looks like RIga has the 'Brazilian World Cup Stadium' syndrome at the moment as there seems to have been a 'pause' in the progress of refurbishing the stadium. Sportowefakty reported a couple of weeks ago; "We reported in mid-November, in the sorry state it is "Bikernieku complex SportaPro Baze" located at Eizensteina Town. Later, at the end of last year we reported that something had moved to the preparation and on the oval stadium picking up a few hundred tons of Norwegian dolomite . Because we have the Riga his messengers, with full confidence we can say that since then the arena, where in less than five months to race the best players in the world, it has literally nothing! More recently, in an interview granted to our portal Andrew Lebedev asked about the disturbing stagnation in the preparation of the stadium said: - Everything will be ready for 100 percent., I'm sure. You can do wonders." Oh well at least we don't have workers dying during the construction.....ummm! are there any workers actually on site? Do we have any Latvian fans on here who have updated news regards the condition of the stadium now? I noticed in the last batch of photos intended to show what had been done that the seating appeared to be the same rotting wood and crumbling concrete. Somehow i don't think they will be ripping it out (ok or sneezing near it so that it falls over and can be swept away) and replacing it with modern stadium seating. Although if they do all credit to them.
  2. or in 'Google Translate' League exit: Wittstock makes DMSB responsible The Wittstocker wolves have withdrawn their nomination for the Speedway League. To start 2014, only three teams in the German top flight. The speedway league this year will be of only three teams (Landshut, Brokstedt, Wolf Lake) persist after the wolves from Wittstock have officially announced their retreat to the DMSB on Tuesday. "We were placed so many obstacles in the way that we have no other option but to withdraw the nomination for the Speedway Premier League," said sporting director Frank Wall. "When we got the heading that we must take drastic action at home against Landshut twice, I asked the DMSB whether it was her seriousness, both home to race in a total of only four teams against one and the same enemy. I was assured by people of the railway committee that I have to keep the ball low, as it is still changed. Now we have two weeks before league start and it has done nothing still. I'm annoyed that I did not immediately officially filed a protest. " Not only because of the Bundesliga fixtures the wolves are angry. A postponement was also rejected. Wolf Lake and Wittstock wanted to deliver their home race at Ascension, whereby both Brandenburg clubs would each take away viewers. Then agreed the club bosses to agree better with the dates in the future. Wittstock put the DMSB a request for postponement. "Him hath the DMSB rejected without justification, the diary is already fixed, I was told," says Wall on. "Even with the pair of championship we were put off. I had talked to people from DMSB, given the commitment of the Wolves for the pair championship orally. My secretary had the application be mailed directly by email, since the DMSB site was down for some time and I am hard to get to any forms. Then I got the answer, you are unfortunately only reserve as ye have called too late. " Wall brings out: "Perhaps it is time, time to make another league over another association or SVG. I see a yes, that's draw mistakes can happen. If you have made a mistake, you can just turn it back on. It can not be that we have to go with our two home races against each Landshut. Viewers have been wondering about which of the two races they should come -. Twice the same sporting event will also see among us any » According to league rules Wittstock be reckoned with because of no-show with a fine of at least 1000 EUR and loses to be included in a speedway league the right in the coming year. Frank Wall sees the left: "If I have to pay a fine, I let the check from my lawyer. He will then also consider whether the fixtures were legal, but since I'm ran very relaxed. "
  3. OK i be the first to attempt to fill in the blank spaces.... Czestochowa ...... (yeah i cheated i copied and pasted it from Sportowefakty lol.
  4. Tooooo funny NAH! YAWNNNNNNN! But hey you both seem intent once again on entering a post off-topic just to instigate personal attacks, what a waste of forum space ONCE AGAIN. A right couple of trolls you two. Hey! do try and keep the giggling noise down girlies. To be honest 'John Leslie' you getting as creepy as two others on here. Ok admittedly not as scarily creepy as that poster the other week who follows me around the forums obsessed with me (as you two clearly are too). He bizarrely interjected into a thread out of the blue something about people wanting to be loved lol lol, i still can't breathe with laughing from that all time creep fest. However you're getting into disturbing realms too have you actually compiled a list of past posts of mine. You seem to have a long quotable memory of anything i've ever said or referred to on here. You're always quoting stuff from long ago, gee whizz creepy. It's all so pointless you have zero effect on me and every post of the sort you file serves only to ridicule yourselves.
  5. Dear God! you two are seriously and worryingly obsessed. Are you actually children and not grown men??? Are you silly schoolgirls??? Have your minds nothing to occupy them? You find it so hard not to introduce your freaky obsession with the format of MiniMax racecards into scores and scores of off-topic posts season after season, surely the time has come to get a life you silly people. 'John Leslie' in particular why are my racecards on your mind so much? you really need to get them off your mind. Can you not find a hobby or something? Hmmm Iris do you mean the basic version from Denmark that last season totally ripped off a.......wait for this.....INNOVATIVE aspect of the MiniMax cards lol lol. Have either of you contacted speedway authorities around the world yet to complain about the 'silly' 'multi-coloured' helmet covers used in every speedway race the world over? My racecards only use those four basic colours. Talk about giving fools enough rope to hang themselves i absolutely love it when you make these obsessive posts about the racecards as it shows you up for what you are. Thank you guys or is that silly immature young girls? Indeed as i do. Have you ever made any comment on these forums about an aspect of speedway other than a meeting??? If so apply the above post of yours to the hundreds of times you have. Yayyy once again give 'em enough rope
  6. It's quite a few years since i was with my 'Bremen bird' lol so my German is very rusty. However, i've seen two mentions, or more accurately hints, that Sport 1 is not the only fish in the sea! What other sports or general channels either subscription or free to air are available in Germany who might consider carrying the SGP? Reading through articles it does seem it's not just a matter of Sport 1 having spent all their money on overseas football but it's a similar situation as to why we aren't seeing Polish speedway on TV namely their schedules are full of the traditional major sports on a Saturday night or Sunday afternoon.
  7. Thoughts and questions on how riders get paid and some a little 'out of the box' lol. Is there any particular reason why speedway riders are mainly paid on piece work performance as in you get paid per point and no points equals no pay? What effect would it have on how hard riders race if they were like footballers, and pretty much most sports on the planet, and got paid a set wage with bonus payments for winning matches/trophies or reaching personal targets? I'm unsure if most riders now get signing on fees or is that only the top ones? Are there other perks that get included in a contract that don't apply to all team members? It seems inherently unfair that a top 'star' scoring a maximum or high score should receive more per point than another rider in the team. The rich get richer and can buy better equipment is one side effect of that. Main reason the subject comes to mind is that some clubs have clearly suffered when having an unexpected successful team as they have to pay more points out and the crowds rarely seem to increase enough to cover that. It seems to be a mighty gamble for a promoter to build a powerhouse team when walkover wins cost so much in 'wages' and it soon gets less entertaining for home fans wanting to see some close racing and matches. For the sport to thrive and have more riders come into it, it needs to give equal opportunity to pay for all of those competing so another 'what would happen if' question is......what would happen if across the league every single point earned the exact same amount of money for every rider and the home promoter paid out on the meetings 90 points? They would be able to budget the whole seasons wage bill known in advance. If a top rider wanted to be rewarded for being the top rider in the team, or even in the whole league, he would by simply scoring more points than the others. You could always add team bonuses for winning trophies or matches instead of the current divisive favoured contracts for individuals in a team.
  8. 'waihekeaces1' I find it hard to disagree with someone who was there when i was only watching on TV but are you sure it was only on a par with last year??? I've just had a good old Google for news reports of the meeting. Taking into account syndication there are quite a few reports quoting a 'packed' crowd and some a 'capacity' crowd. Although the latter i doubt as there were clearly spaces, i think at the top of the temporary stand and, if spectators are allowed to stand there, on a sloping grassy section. A lot of sources are clear in saying it was a larger crowd than last year.
  9. Rob i presume you messed up when you were trying to paste/use quotes? The above makes it look like i said he fluked a win! I thought Smolinski had a hard earned win and a great performance. It was 'Steve Shovlar' who claimed it was a fluke. Only thing is, as was mentioned towards the start of the thread and a couple of times since, German TV are not showing the SGP this year OUCH.
  10. Eh? fluked a win? Terrible? Nah! LOL WHAT A FANTASTIC SPORT! LOL WHAT A FANTASTIC SPORT!
  11. Thank you to Bill Buckley, SGP, Eurosport and of course the riders, it's been worth entering a zombie like state through sleep deprivation lol.
  12. That's surprising to me i was sure there were lots of open spaces last year and i had thought it was visibly larger this time around, but i'm only viewing on tv. I was on a high thinking that it was a great crowd and some good racing and glad that Buckley was getting some good fortune. I was of the opinion also an unexpected good crowd and also, although not quite as unexpected...good racing. It is morning i can see daylight outside but i lost track of which day it is the morning of lol.
  13. Obviously wouldn't have questioned that except he got better race by race. Also he never looked in it at all the first two races, so was wondering if the sudden drastic improvement was a change of bikes or alteration to his engines.
  14. 11 profitable GP's to come. Heat 19 more great racing. 2 out of 3 to qualify Hampel about to race currently on 5, Jonsson and Woffinden on 7 but Jonsson got the countback on head to head same record.
  15. Having to keep fingers crossed when riders tumble tonight they are going at some speed on this track.
  16. Tai has scoreless Hancock and likely a track reserve in his next race, is there a chance he could finish ahead of Holder to put himself on to 8 points and a chance of the semi-final? Then again i'm forgetting Herbie out in this race, all the same he's not been in top form so far! Gee Chris Harris you are giving us a bad night as it is, now you make it worse by messing up the race whilst in last place lol.
  17. It's always awful too see the head hit the ground like that no wonder he was temporarily unconscious. then again i'm forgetting Herbie out in this race but all the same up to now he not doing well.
  18. Quite a good combination of the home nations commentators during the racing and the excellent little race recaps after each round of heats being done by the UK team. The formula might not work when the GP is staged in Poland or any non-english speaking country! lol
  19. Great race there and fantastic to see Holder back battling away in the GP's. I so knew Harris wouldn't hold on to that third place.
  20. Two ducks is recoverable but ouch for Greg three in a row!
  21. Commentator said you don't often see the track staff doing gardening in between heats.....ummm you certainly don't see them doing it during heats! I know what he means though lol.
  22. Lol ok amend it to 'bunching' albeit not applicable because of the stage of the race. I didn't get in until after 4am this (= yesterday) morning and have gone right through the day and now night without sleep! I'm doing well seeing that every race i'm alternating from seeing 8 riders and then them blurring into one single blob. The meeting had been running at a fair lick until these unfortunate incidents.
