  1. I agree with a lot of what you say, you might find this thread interesting http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=81137. I think there would be some resistance from those riders who have already invested heavily in machinery and of course the engine tuners but I hope the BSPA do something.
  2. The point I was trying to make was if the track was dry it would ride differently and bike set up would need to change. Danny King was excellent in theses conditions but was only average in the league meeting there.
  3. I think some people are selecting their team based on one meeting on an exceptionally wet track. To suggest the team is nailed on with over a month of racing to get through is ludicrous imo.
  4. I think Scunny need to step down to the national league next season, I know Rob Godfrey is not keen on that but it might be for the best at least for a season. The premier league gets stronger year on year, look at the riders that have dropped back down to the premier league and look at how few riders have left. I don't think Scunny can afford to sign a Craig cook or a Simon Stead and instead take a gamble on uncovering a foreign gem.
  5. Scunny were allowed to bring in a reserve.... I despair with the rules of speedway.
  6. I have seen riders on the centre green this year and not get excluded, the rule needs to be black and white and not down to the referees discretion.
  7. Beaten by the better team but Scunny were not helped by the slick dusty track. Afternoon meetings normally bring a bigger crowd but usually at the expense of good track prep. I fear the crowd will be down on Friday, maybe the promotion should slash the admission to £10 as reward to the fans for their loyalty during this tough period.
  8. Auty seems to struggle when the track is slick, rides much better when the track is like last week. Its fair to say that Davies is not on the same fitness regime as Woffinden, might be a bit quicker if he went down the gym.
  9. I think if the straights were a little wider it would produce more lines.
  10. IMO I don't think most clubs are manipulating the averages i.e telling riders to lower their average.
  11. I think its to do with finances, clubs like Redcar, Scunny and Plymouth don't have the cash to pick and choose any rider they want so they have to take a gamble on riders, often these riders will not live up to their average. If these clubs can't then strengthen their teams they will struggle and that will lead to poor crowds and that could lead to dire consequences.
  12. People complain about the amount of guest riders so the BSPA can't win really.
  13. That has always been the problem with speedway. In this case though I don't think Scunny are trying to pull a fast one, they are going to sign Lyger which they could do regardless of Holubs average.
  14. Porsing would be a good rider, he scored paid 14 when Peterborough came to Scunny.
  15. Ty Proctor sounds desperate to get a ride, he said this today...... 'Still waiting for a club so I can begin my rebuild back in the UK. Ready anytime after May the 17' A proven 6 to 7 point man with experience of a lot of UK tracks.
  16. I agree, anybody new to the sport who would like to understand all the rules would certainly be put off. Some promotions don't bother to explain the oddities of the rules to the fans, probably fearing it would be too complicated and hard to explain.
