  1. And me . I remember racing against Ivan Mauger and Barry Briggs there , they were such hard riders that Mauger fenced me twice and Briggs once , but riders were tougher back in those days . I just got up went to the toilet and got back in bed to rejoin my dream where I had left it , Just like you do every day
  2. don't hold your breath for the Bspa TWK . they are more likely to put off someone who has the money than do anything constructive towards saving it
  3. unfortunately the Moron . ( and still the title holder of Leicester Lions biggest embarrassment ) is serious you can look forward to many great things now that Hemsley is out of the picture , Buster chapman is the ideal bloke to take the club forward and I doubt Lions fans will be subjected to the disappointments of the last 5 years , I would imagine .if you let the club know your predicament as regards the wheelchair ,arrangements could easily be made for you to be assisted by one of the army of volunteers in the absence of your grandson
  4. Unless someone like Tony Mole wants to give it a shot ,I very much doubt the custodians of British speedway will do anything , Odsal could be a damn good shot in the arm for speedway . and with the imminent demise of Brandon would be useful as a second major venue
  5. I actually meant Pre airfence when it was just freestanding panels that moved out of the way
  6. the fence at Ipswich used to be a temporary affair if anyone hit it ,it moved and they would go straight across the stock car track. don't think anyone came to any real harm there . bit like having a run off area
  7. I'm not going to enter into a debate with you . since you make the ridiculous assumption that an amateur football club raises any money for its own facilities . anyone with half a brain cell knows ,that councils sports councils govts. govt .departments ,cannot wait the throw money at football ,athletics ,tennis , cycling or even tiddlywinks ,but you seem to live in some fantasy world where these sports are self financing . and therefore speedway promoters are saving their bucket loads of cash to spend on cars and holidays rather than investing in rider safety , Grow up Robert and either post something constructive or shut the F&*k up
  8. and anyone Including Speedibee is entitled to their opinion ,without having to be subjected to your pompous rantings ,
  9. That's the correct way to fit them I believe , but you can only do that if they stay in place all week . if they have to come out for stocks it's too big a job to dig them up and then bury them again each week
  10. and your love of all things Briggs has surfaced again , why cant you accept that not everybody sees him as some benevolent character , I'm not alone in thinking he has fleeced speedway for everything he can get , so get over it and stop trolling my posts looking for pitiful excuses to sing his praises , your obsession is becoming rather tedious
  11. easy to make those kind of statements when it's not your money on the line , rather shows your lack of understanding of the real financial side of speedway . I suppose you think promoters have a bottomless pit of money to play with
  12. Briggs manufactured the first ones , so they were instantly approved without question
  13. before we can move towards more tracks using the solid type air fence we need to loosen Briggo,s grip at the BSPA and SCB . the difficulty with "Air" fences is they need to be tethered front and centre , which invariably will involves some sort of stake into the shale and a ratchet strap arrangement of some sort . both things that could cause serious injury as an obstacle hit at speed .. some speedway only places may be able to bury the fixings below ground level ,but this would be really difficult on tracks that have stock cars
  14. If Coventry doesn't go . I wouldn't be too surprised to see the Storm filling the of the gaps at BP Well . I bet Buster will be pleased to know how great the racing is at Leicester after seeing a few decent races when KL were there , I suppose he will be thinking great racing at BP is the rule rather than the exception and will be happy to race on with the track as it is .. the problems of the last 5 years all dissolved in 1 night over a few heats ,
  15. Bang on the money , Sarj is a proper speedway rider ,who came through the proper channels , speedway family , amateur meetings .national League ,premier league and now Elite , as it should be , not some Journeyman middle order NL rider .who came to speedway from MX,BMX, or skateboarding , with a big reputation , big head and big ego, and who has never lived up to his own hype ..
  16. I think even an improved version of the track would still be too tight for stock cars , and there is not enough space around the outside to park all the lorries and buses that stock cars get transported in , 14 vans for speedway is a tight squeeze , so where would you put 60 lorries
  17. Leicester NL failed because of the arrogant Hemsley clone who ran it , He didn't have a clue about speedway at that level , and was so arrogant that he wouldn't take advice of people who did , there were at least 150 people who didn't go because he didn't give a couple of local lads a go, knew better of course and brought in lads from Scotland ,outer Mongolia , mars ,rather than faces that were known and liked by the Lions support
  18. there wont be any bits of Stock car in Leicesters track Gem , even a poor Kings Lynn is twice as good as a good Leicester
  19. Won't be Hemsley's responsibility ,buster is the speedway leaseholder and responsible for the track and stadium , he's not a fool like Hemsley and will know that a decent racetrack is the keystone to a decent crowd and therefore a successful business ,
  20. I'm pretty sure Buster was one of the first to take Kings Lynn away from the traditional British league Saturday night , many feared that would be a disaster but it wasn't , Leicester may well lose a fair bit of away support ,and a few who cant make midweek , but with the likelihood of a team challenging for honours and people who walked away because of Hemsley returning , I think there could be reasonable Local support , With Leicester city sliding down the tubes and the Tigers not doing that well either ,could be good news for speedway I think
  21. how sure are you that leicster will be a Saturday night track still , It was Hemsley who believed that Leicester would only be viable on Saturdays ,but Buster may well have other ideas
  22. more than half the people in the disabled carpark .and spilling over into the riders carpark . don't have a blue badge because they don't need one , they just think using the public carpark is beneath them . I have on occasion pointed these people out to the stewards ,who just shrug their shoulders and say they cant do anything . I've even seen people like that , park in the spare ambulance space and then argue when told to move . spoke to Ken In town a few weeks back . I can't see him returning TBH . he is completely disillusioned with the whole of speedway , I think I would be the same TBH , after 28 years of unwavering faith , being pushed aside by the new messiah and his out of the woodwork followers in the final furlong ,would leave a bad taste in anyones mouth ..
  23. Plenty of room to move the exterior fence out and move the temp stands back , just build over the disabled carpark . because 99% of the spaces in there are filled with hangers on and Chelsea tractor drivers who are not at all disabled ,
  24. If Chapman has taken over the reigns , should be good news for Leicester , has the equipment ,money, experienced to build a decent racetrack , and enough experience + reputation . to get some top riders to build a good team , got to be better than Mr Know it all , no money .no idea running the place . If I were a Lions fan I would definitely looking forward to 2017
