Dudley Heathens V Birmingham Bulls
Brummie Kev replied to Brummie Kev's topic in National League Speedway
I too would like congratulate the riders of both sides on what was a difficult night with the weather and the track. Overall I was pleased with the efforts the Bulls showed, but I do think the score flatters us a little. The Heathens always looked good for the win, and their top 3 were much stronger. Still, combined with some great riding in the later stages (especially with both tacticals) and some bad luck for Dudley, which meant in the we could leave Monmore with a decent result. Thought Jaime Pickard was our star rider, he looked quick in his last two riders. Garrity was good but its just a pity he cant gate for toffee . The jaw-dropping move he made in Heat 11 was incredible, he had so much speed when passing Morris on he back straight which took him into the 3rd/4th bend. Obviously the track was very greasy, especially I would imagine the inside. Most riders would probably lock up and get spat off their bike if they entered a bend at high speed on a wet track like he did. He didnt seem fazed at all which shows he has obviously talent. Its just I think he needs to improve his gating alot, if he is going to make it in the Premier League. Hopefully he will but then again I hope not as he so damm exciting when he doesnt gate. Feel sorry for Ben Taylor, just what has happened to him. Scored 3 points against Stoke for us and 1 tonight. The effort was clearly there but perhaps he was trying to hard. James Sargeant did well, like Garrity captialised with the tactical ride in Heat 14 but did have luck as Roynon packed up on the line. Thought Luke Priest would do okay for us and he looked better then his score suggested. The Stoneman brothers I thought did alright, Danny got a decent score. Nathan only scored 1 but he looked on the pace, but a little bit over the place. However the kid has only just turned 15 and I dont suppose he has rode at Wolverhampton before. Could be one to watch, well worth a NL side taking a punt on him. Thought Graham Reeve's performance as referee was diabolical to be honest. Heat 2 was just a disgrace, Nathan comes off and for whatever reason he doesnt clear the track. If a rider does not clear the track, the red lights should come on ASAP. Yet in this case, the riders continue to ride full throttle for another lap passing whilst he is standing on the wet and greasy track. He does put the red lights but only when the riders are completing the race, which could have been too late. He was near the airfence on bend two but even still, I have seen many riders come off there at Wolves. Referees make mistakes but a mistake of this kind when it could put a rider at risk shouldnt happen full stop. He made a few other errors and waited an age to put the two minutes on in Heat 12 with rain falling but they dont matter as much as what happened in Heat 2. Well Done Dudley and especially Mark Robinson, but pleased with the Bulls showing. -
Fair play to him tonight, he rode really well.

Thanks Guys I really am in a quandary about going, my plan was to go to Wolves last night and tonight. However last night I was ill and I would hate not going tonight only to find the meeting does take place. At the same time like I said, I dont want a wasted trip. The forecast is for this rubbish to slowly move away, and for a dry evening. Decisions, Decisions!! It would be nice if we can get a weather update on the Heathens Website, including how the track is holding up. -

Can somebody that is close to the track or even at the track PLEASE give an update on weather at the moment. I will be setting off at 5.30 to get my 2 buses to Monmore and I would hate to get there and make the journey back without seeing speedway. Many thanks. -
Big local derby action tomorrow and I m looking forward to it providing the weather is good. Teams DUDLEY: Kyle Newman, Jamie Courtney, Tom Perry, Adam Roynon, Ashley Morris, Darryl Ritchings, Mark Robinson. BIRMINGHAM: Jason Garrity, Luke Priest, Ben Taylor, James Sarjeant, Jaimie Pickard, Nathan Stoneman, Danny Stoneman. Bulls to nick it, first time I will be seeing Jason Garrity ride, so cant wait!

I dont think its a joke at all, its only a challenge match that he is riding in, plus its the Heathens final meeting of the season. Its been a tough season for them, so for them it will be nice seeing one of their former riders to round off the season.

Well Said, couldnt agree with you more

Saw Nathan ride at Brum tonight in the under 16 demonstration races and I was very impressed. Won both of them with absolute ease and looked at home. He was just flat out and hardly made any errors, the second race his time was 65.8 . National League times last week were around 62, so that isnt bad consider Nathan was on a 250cc bike too. He should be interesting to watch on a 500cc bike. Hope he can make it in the sport and judging by tonight I reckon he could be a one to watch in the future.

Birmingham Bulls V Stoke Potters Ch
Brummie Kev replied to Brummie Kev's topic in National League Speedway
The programme last night said his average was 3, so does he have British parent/s or something like that. If he gets a NL place then that average would at least double, given what I saw last night. -

Final score 55-38 to the Bulls. Tom Armstrong looks one heck of a talent. Isherwood had a shocker for Stoke.7 rides, 7 last places. Ben Reade withdrew after a crash. -

I dont know why people are moaning, its only £10 for godsake. Stoke decide to use R/R at number 1, so what, that is their problem and I for one am looking foward to cheering on the Bulls. Its good to have something different to the Elite League and the young riders need our support. Get yourselves down there. -

Birmingham site says its Rob Smith instead of Paul Starke and Simon Lambert R/R for Stoke. -
Even though I dont know what will be the Bulls line -up, I am quite looking forward to this. Stoke are having a great season and had a sensational win at Dudley last night. They should be a good for our side to face, whoever we might have. I would hope we are using a few of our assets, so pehaps Hargreaves and Ben Taylor may be riding. Hopefuilly the team will have can push Stoke hard for the win and we get some good racing. Just a quick question, I notice this challenge is over two legs. The return on the Birmingham site it says Saturday 24th Septemebr at Loomer Road but on the Stoke site it has it as 'TBC'. Will the second leg be on the 24th. Come on the Bulls!!

How are track records getting broken with these New Silencers, its amazing some people said a track record would never be broken with these. What do they know!

EDIT:For anyone that saw my last post saying that Swedish Speedway was going to be shown delayed next week, this is in fact WRONG. It will be shown before the Rangers game, thanks to Jeffster for pointing that out to me.

Thats shocking if you ask me , there was the meeting earlier in the season delayed but they assured everyone it would be the only one. Wont bother watching it, if this is how they treat us.

Speedway World Cup Team Line Ups
Brummie Kev replied to Ben Alderton's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I actually thought we did better then expected, considering we had Bridger in place of Nicholls. I would have been happy with 20 points tonight and we got 10 more then I thought we would get. Pleased with BB, he rode his socks off tonight, I did think he would struggle going into it considering his lack of experience of Polish Tracks. Harris was excellent and Wuffy did okay in the end. Lewis Bridger and Edward Kennett were the biggest disapointments. Overall though I cant fault them for effort this World Cup, as others have said we are just nowhere near the top 4 nations and Russia have overtaken us now. We have to realistic in our expectations of Team GB in future World Cups. Saturdays final should be a Cracker, still think the Poles will win. -
