Dudley V Isle Of Wight (at Birmingham) (nl)
Brummie Kev replied to rhidassa's topic in National League Speedway
Yes the Heathens are a strong team but its been MONTHS since they lost rode at Perry Barr . In fact they have only raced in one meeting at Perry Barr which was their opening meeting against the USA Dream Team back on 7th April. So bearing that in mind, I would think the Islanders are licking their lips at the prospect of facing the Heathens. Smart loves the track hes said that in interviews and should get close to a maximum. Jake started the season at reserve for the Brummies and showed good home form towards the end, he should go well. Apart from that I dont know about Dudley, its should be interesting to see how they go. The Islanders have struggled on the road losing all 6 however Dudley have no track experience at this track in the National League. They have all done well at Monmore Green but Perry Barr is such a different track. Dudley may be my second team but Im glad they are back at PB this Wednesday, sick of the sight of my main team throwing meetings away. -
King's Lynn Young Stars Vs. Dudley Heathens
Brummie Kev replied to willp's topic in National League Speedway
Fantastic Result for Dudley, taking all the points. Looking forward to watching them on Wednesday. Just hope Richard Franklin is okays, looks a serious injury going by the updates. Also hope Lewis Kerr isnt too badly hurt for Kings Lynn. -
Sunday Times Piece On British Gp
Brummie Kev replied to DEEG's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Personally I find it hard to believe the attendance was 32,000 that seems a very low figure. So weve lost 10,000 fans in a year, like with most Newspapers I reckon its a load of bull. I was in the lower tier of the home straight and all three tiers on backstraight were quite full. Obviously there were pockets of empty seats around but I really do find it hard to believe that we are 10,000 fans down thats far too many to believe. Lets face it, how are meant to believe a newspaper that doesnt normally give a damm about speedway, they are just trying to do us down as usual. -
British Riders In The Gp's
Brummie Kev replied to Topcat's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
To be honest, I was very disapointed in Chris Harris. He threw away a good start and his gating in his final rides was terrible. He should do much better, hes won here before for godsake. I fear we are going to flop at the Speedway World Cup. I guess it might not be too bad if the likes of AJ, Lindgren and Hans Anderson boycott the event if the silencers are used. -
Cardiff Grand Prix
Brummie Kev replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Just got back to my hotel on outskirts of Cardiff and I have to say what a fantastic GP. The track looked excellent, probably the best its ever been and that provided some good racing. So glad Holder won it, I was cheering him on once the Brits flopped. I suppose Tai did okay with 6 and to be fair he rode a great last race. Bomber was piss poor really, 4 points from his first 2 rides and he still doesnt make it. Whats wrong with him, Cardiff is the pinnacle of the sport yet he seem not interested. His gating was awful and I feel Harris was a big let down. Scotty did okay, was quick in a few but as hes not a GP regular I didnt expect much. Still enjoyed the day, the atmosphere and well done Noddy on his win. -
Good Luck to Michael Dyer at Dudley, his trip to the UK was funded by the Brummies and I think hes an asset too. Really do feel for James and I hope he gets fixed up with a club soon.

Swc Event 2, King's Lynn, 26/7
Brummie Kev replied to Bagpuss's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
It should be interesting to see just how many riders will decide not to ride in the SWC this year if the New Silencers are used, will there be a mass boycott or is it all talk. -
Cant see the Brummies in the Elite League in 2011 ( planning permission permitting), Crowds at Perry Barr couldnt sustain Elite League Racing and people would moan like crazy if we had an air-fence. Its not worth the risk.

Well done to the Sedgehammer Also Good effort from Kyle Newman, shame he missed out

Save Our Speedway-sign Petition
Brummie Kev replied to kiwi's topic in International World of Speedway
Just Signed your Petition, I certainty wish you all the best. Its a situation that me and other Brummies fans know only too well with our council on our backs regarding noise. Its the reason why New Silencers have been introduced to help to save our club when our council come to decide later in the year. -

Cardiff 2010 Hotels
Brummie Kev replied to flagrag's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I dont think this hotel is booked http://www.superbreak.com/hotels/legacy_ca...-hotel-7180.htm We booked about a week ago so I would think there would be places left. Its only a 15 minute car journey from the centre of Cardiff in a place called Tongwynlais and is situated just off the M4 at junction 32. The only thing is like most hotels they have hiked the prices up for 10th July, we are paying £60 a night to stay there so thats over double the normal price but it does allow us to go to Newport on the Sunday. -
2010 Grand Prix wildcards
Brummie Kev replied to gaztrotter's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think the selection of Chris Harris for a wildcard is a joke, how can his selection be justified after the year he just had. Finishing in the top 8 should mean something but every year certain GP riders get chance after chance. I dont care what nationallity the wildcards are, I want to watch riders that deserve to be there on merit. I think its a year too early for Tai but I hope he does well. Dont get wrong Tai will be a top rider but I just think he would be better prepared if 2011 was his first season in the GPs. My picks would have been: Lindgren,Andersen,Zagar and Lindback -
Which Brit Should Get A Wild Card?
Brummie Kev replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Personally I wouldnt select any Brits for the GPs as none of them are remotely good enough. People keeep on talking about Lee Richardson but just because hes done well in Poland and Sweden that doesnt mean he will be any good in the GPs next year. Edward Kennett for the GP series, I never heard something so ridiculas in all my life. Whoever next James Wright or even Chris Schramm . I think its too early for Tai Woffinden even though hes had a good season, I feel next season he can be even better so 2011 would be an excellent chance for him When I watch the GP on a saturday evening I want to watch the best riders showcasing this wonderful sport. I would never class Scott Nicholls and Chris Harris worthy of being in GPs and I dont want someone picked purely because of where they come from. I want to watch the best and sadly theres no British rider in that Bracket at the minute. -
To be honest if we dont have these silencers then clubs will close, (not just mine) the future of the sport is at stake if they arnt implented. In a perfect world I love not to have them but as we know this world aint perfect especially with the PC brigade about.
-
Its a disgrace to be honest, im okay because I do have sky but its a joke some people will only be able to see half a meeting. I know looking at the other channels that there are more so called popular sports on but why bother to show a live event if some people wont be able to see it in the full. I just hope this is a one off from Sky, its not a way to treat a sport thtat gives them good viewing figures.

Thought it was a rubbish meeting but im glad Greg Hancock won it. Usual performance from the Brits but all in all a very disapointing GP.

The 2009 Individual Swedish Championship

Good to see Ludvig beat AJ, Zorro and Nermark in one heat, them 3 are all very good riders. Well done to AJ on the win. -
Swc - The Race Off
Brummie Kev replied to Sandie's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Why do people automatically think that if Nichollls had come in we would have reached the final. So Nicholls poor form this season counts for nothing, at the end of the its all ifs and buts King deserved his chance. I wish people would get off Lyons back, what do people want a different team manager every year, thats gonna win us the world cup isnt it. -
Charlie Webster
Brummie Kev replied to Speedwayleics's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I thought Charlie Webster did very well tonight, Ive been critical of her in the past but she did quite well tonight. Really disapointed with Nigel and Kelvin tonight, for the first time in ages. Ive always like them both despite the abuse Nigel gets on this forum but both went over the top tonight. As early as heat 12 nigel was saying we were going to the final. Towards the end it was getting a farce, we all knew heat 23 would be cruical and it proved that way. Yet Nigel was bellowing down the microphone that we were going to be in the final on saturday. Why raise peoples hopes up like that they only had egg on their faces in the end. -
Swc - The Race Off
Brummie Kev replied to Sandie's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I cant believe all this moaning how can people moan when everyone one can see all 5 of them rode their bollocks off tonight. All I asked was them to give 100%, they gave exactly that and they just missed out. The Swedes had riders that were much more experienced in high pressure situations then us, that counted alot in the latter satges. I cant believe this argument about Scott Nicholls, how can his form merit a call up. The other guys King and Bridger did well on Monday so they totally deserved their chance. If Rob Lyon is to come in and say he wants youth policy selection then thats what he has to do, he had to stick to his guns. If he had bought Nicholls in then many people would have labelled Lyon a bottler and going against his word. I feel for him because hes in a lose lose situation. Well done GB tonight so unlucky but I for one am so proud of them. -
Swc Event 2, Peterborough 13.7.
Brummie Kev replied to tomazpozrl's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Awesome meeting, some really fantastic racing tonight. I thought GB did well they fought hard throughout the meeting, the aussies and poles were always going to finish in the top 2 . Our best rider I thought was Danny King, terrific ride against Gollob so unlucky to miss out on the line but messed up slightly on the last bend. Good Tactical win by Bomber who I thought did very good, Bridger did well early on but not so later on. It looked like Kennet and Woffinden lacked speed, Kennett seemed to ride too wide in his early rides which cost him dearly. A I say some brilliant racing, I suppose Heat 20 has to be the best I hope someone puts it on Youtube. The battle between Crump/Zager and Miedzinski(for a time) was sensational. Too many other good heats but how the bloody hell did Protasiewicz stay on his bike when he rode the back staight fence, amazing stuff. So its to the race off for GB, I think we will be outclassed there but I just hope the boys show the same fighting spirit as they showed tonight. Against 3 tough opponents thats all we can ask of them.
