Had one of my best nights of the season for bets tonight. Had three bets, Alden +1 vs Morris (looked shakey until Alden won heat 12), Iversen -5.5 vs Birks and Schlein +0.5 vs Kildemand. Sets me up nicely for a go on the GP at the weekend

It's taking place at Ostrow, decent meeting so far and as already said, the stream quality is good today, better than I've seen in the Polish league matches so far.

Good call on the Aarnio +1 vs Jorgensen, I expected more from Jorgensen (or rather less from Aarnio!) and went a for Jorgensen -1. Did win on Cook +0.5 vs Birks though after a tense heat 15 so finished about even for the night, slightly up after going Cook to win Heat 1 and Dyer Heat 2.

After a miserable night on the terraces at Brandon on Monday and the boring meeting it produced for Sky I thought this was a good meeting and just what I needed to pick my enthusiasm for speedway back up. With the novelty of no tactical rides, some good races with a last heat decider and good conversation throughout from Pearson, Rosco and Tai, I thought it was the best meeting on Sky so far this year.

Thanks TNT for running this, well done on winning. Thanks also to Jarek Hampel for landing me with 2 consecutive embarrassing last places He can count himself lucky that I'm not picking the wild cards for 2013, he'd be out for what he's done to me -
Referee Just Bottled Semi Decision
JamieE replied to TheReturn's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Firstly, well done Chris Holder, a good rider who was always going to be world champion one day and will I'm sure win some more. Quite possibly came a year too early though thanks to a poor decision from Ackroyd who didn't really show British speedway in a good light by not making the big decision. The British riders don't seem to be good enough for the GPs and can't help but wonder if the British referees are either judging by tonight. Foreign referees take some stick but they would at least have stepped up and made the call that needed to be made and excluded Holder. He lifted, ran wide and took Pedersen out. Nicki had made the jump and got in front of Holder quite legitimately, Holder should have backed off and conceded the corner if he didn't want to be clamped down. Disappointing to see his brothers on the track getting involved with Pedersen too, not where they should be and didn't reflect well on Holder as he was on the verge of being champion. -

Really enjoyed that GP, one of the few times I've been glued to watching a speedway meeting this season. Isn't Malilla being taken off the GP calendar for next year? A great shame if it is, typical that one of, if not the best rounds of the season is the one to be scrapped Pleased for Gollob, seen him have so many poor meetings this year where he's looked lost and not interested, backing out of moves he'd have pulled off with ease in years gone by, for whatever reason it looked like things really clicked for him again tonight though and the GPs are much better with an on form Gollob. Not really much of a fan of his but you have to be impressed with him when he's at the top of his game. Well done to Lindback too, seems to have come from nowhere in the 2nd half of the season and looking stronger than ever suddenly. Hope AJ's ok and hope he gets a pick for 2013 too as it's looking like he's the Swede who's going to miss out on the top 8. Didn't see many replays of his crash but it looked to me like Nicki was taking the racing line off the final corner and although ruthless was entitled to be where he was on the track. Perhaps an exclusion for being Nicki Pedersen? Made for some entertaining tv in the pits afterwards though and good on Nicki for keeping calm the rest of the night and not getting involved in more incidents as often seems to happen when Pedersen gets upset

Great ride from Thörnblom, looks like he's developing into quite a rider, not often you see the young Swedes mixing it with the big names.

Surprised Pavlic is back in too, didn't think he was under power when the race stopped?

No complaints from me, other than the poor weather which tried its best to ruin the meeting. The meeting was run as quickly as it possibly could given the track conditions and inevitable crashes, good that all the riders made it to the end in one piece, they were really going for it and some didn't look at all comfortable on track. Well done to Jepsen Jensen on a faultless maximum, was aggresive in the first turns when he needed to be, looked good. Big thanks to Bartosz Zmarzlik though, possibly now my favourite rider in speedway for the show he put on tonight, very entertaining!! Two brilliant moves round the outside of turns 3 and 4 that made Bombers passing skills look boring and easy! Amazing bike control for such a young rider to stay on his bike and make the passes. Even with his 3rd place GP finish I didn't get all the hype about the guy but having seen him tonight I'm impressed! Worthy mention for Nikolaj B Jakobsen who I didn't know much about, looked to be a good racer who deserved more points. Well done to the 2 Brits too, the track conditions rewarded those who rode sensibly and could keep control and the Brits did a good job of doing just that, steadily picking up the points. More than could be said for Vaclav Milik who must have rubbed every air fence panel at Brandon at some point! Great shame about the weather, would have been good to see what show they could have put on with a normal track, the riders got stuck in though with some good races, a few scary moments however. The attendance was massively disappointing, really expected a much bigger crowd, understandable given the uncertainty with the weather though I suppose, even travelling from nearby places like Wolves and Birmingham would have been a gamble. Guess the ticket prices wouldn't have helped either, especially for those who don't follow the U21s too closely and only support their league teams.

Question is, will Peter York consider this meeting a big enough occasion worthy of wearing his red blazer for?! You know it's a big event when that makes an appearance! Has stopped raining where I am about 8-10 miles from the stadium, overcast and a bit windy still but hasn't rained for a while now.
-
Personally hoping that the Bees promotion look beyond the big names and talk to Vaclav Milik, can't imagine any of the big names wanting to ride in Britain anyway but given that only Peterborough or Poole are likely to afford any of them I think Milik would be a handy signing for any other team. Looking forward to this meeting and seeing the young stars giving it their all on a British track. Prices are a bit high but should be a good meeting and a welcome break from the failing Bees! Shame Richie Worrall has been forced to miss out, sure he'd have got good support at Brandon, was still a good achievement for him to qualify though
