  1. Would like to think RR for Garrity makes Tigers a bit weaker, which it probably does, but with 4 very capable riders taking rides they should cover it easily. Interested in how Busch settles in, and I think we should put up a reasonable performance, but consolation point may be just beyond us! Can some Sheffield fan clarify a query - I'm intending coming along and thought I may get ticket in advance, but then couldn't see what benefit that gave me. To me it looks like I end up paying 50p extra to on the gate - am I missing something and just being a bit stupid?
  2. Yet another of the anomalies of our sport, ultimately it is the whole guest system which is the problem, sadly due to nature of the sport teams can't bring in their own reserves as in football, cricket, rugby etc etc - although for an oldie like me that is how the old div 2 was set up way back in 1968, but then you had a second half with 5, 6, 7 or more young juniors, all fighting to get a chance in the team - Aah the good old days . The only potential way to solve stronger guest is to start to use an average for a rider at each specific track and then only allow a lesser averaged rider (at that track) to replace - Good Luck getting anyone to agree, or administer, that!
  3. Is this some strange sexual, religious ritual you and the wife are participating in??
  4. To clarify Is that Karger or Busch who won't average 2? - In your opinion
  5. Well he is replacing a 1.5 rider with a 7 point (now 5) average - so that's a potential improvement already
  6. Sorry - the point I was making with a slightly curt reply was that any answer is going to be totally subjective, simple answer is no-one knows if "he will be any good" so your thoughts are just as valid as anyone elses. He has shown up well in international meetings abroad, but how will he go on different track around PL ????? He has to be an improvement on what we had
  7. Looks like Bears 1. Bjerre 2. Bukhave 3. Skidmore 4. Anderson 5. Bellego 6. Nielsen 7. Payne Somerset 1. Grajczonek 2. Allen 3. Wright 4. Starke 5. Tungate 6. Wilson-Dean 7. Watjtknecht Despite rumours flying round no changes to Bears line up, this is probably due to timings and 7 day rules etc. On paper the scrabble champs are favourites, but then everyone expected a pasting down at Somerset last Friday, so who knows. There is another rumour going round that the Bears are trying to slip a couple of tactical rides in mid meeting, hoping the ref and Garry May don't notice till it's too late
  8. I suppose technically you could say guest has been brought in prior to thusday meeting On the issue of having two teams 1-7 riding against each other, I am afraid that will be a rarity this season
  9. I agree definitely down, less of both Redcar and Newcastle supporters than you would expect normally. I think it was a combination of reasons - cold night (again!), footie on telly, meaningless fixture (from Redcar perspective), Diamonds select team (for Diamonds fans ) and probably general apathy from a number of Bears fans who are disillusioned with this season (and promotion)
  10. You were moaning about Redcar not coming the day before on a blank day, hence the reference to Glasgow! I'm not aware of earlier days being suggested - which were these? What had call off against Comets got to do with anything? I'm afraid the only pattern evolving here is your obvious vendetta against everything to do with Redcar - and your pitiful attempts to bring up any topic to have a go against them. If you had secured the win everything would be rosy and nothing would be mentioned, however when you lose a minority have to have some excuse to use, be it track conditions, refereeing decisions or running the match on a night which you said was ok, but now isn't because you didn't get the result you needed! The bottom line is you have an excellent team this season, but one where you will be missing riders, get used to it and the consequences it may bring
  11. Bears were already racing at Glasgow the day before in Cup match, so that was a none starter unless in your opinion Glasgow were also being unhelpful in not changing their fixtures? And you have answered your own question why would Redcar run on an off night for "a fixture that was a money spinner as it was a derby" when you have said Newcastle were happy to come on any night but Sunday? That surely would not have been in the best interests of our club.
  12. The committee consists of Kings Lynn, Wolverhampton, Scunthorpe & NEWCASTLE promoters (plus Colin Pratt not sure where he is nowadays), so effectively for Pl influence you get more than 11 other teams. Of course these promoters would always remain impartial when making decisions and not consider their own clubs interests to influence any decision would they Although having seen how Grumpy George usually has a moan about anything after a defeat one does wonder how impartial one could be
  13. Be very surprised if if is not at least a 30 point lead after Sunday!
  14. If they redeclared with Perry on his true average no room for Cook! Isn't it amazing how everyone is guessing what is happenning! Surely the fans who are expected to pay to finance the sport should have the very basic rules known
  15. Forecast I saw was for light showers late afternoon and then again around 8pm, hopefully they will be light
  16. As the match is on a Monday that isn't an issue However the fact that both Worralls ride for Belle Vue does mean you can never use Ritchie to replace Steve when he is absent EL duties with BV
  17. Workington - change to fixture next week no longer Ippo
  18. May stay at number 7, but not sure average doesn't change
