It would be worrying if you didn't believe your own statements
-
Towards mid to late last season I was told by what I consider to be a reliable source that Matty was looking to return to Redcar, then a couple of weeks later I was told by another fan (again reliable) that he wanted to stay at Berwick - I think he is comfortable with both and as others have said, if he really wanted away he could have done more to force Havvy's hand
-
Looks like loan deal was discussed but until all parties know what their requirements are nothing is agreed. Redcar would have their own plans which probably didn't include Kus, but when they get scuppered and own assets approached without permission then plans B, C & D have to be looked at - I would guess it was at this stage that Kus was deemed best option for the Bears If (and at present it's a big IF) Allen is assessed at 7.00 then do Berwick really want Kus?? that would leave you with just under 12 for 3 riders - no1 barker back ups Jorgensen & Kus then Allen and three 4 point riders (or variation) - to me that make up would bring many comments about being weak. Big issue that needs sorting is Allen's availability and how many points is he going to take
-
May be wrong, but I think a lot of PL teams will be put off signing Lakeside riders who are Lakeside assets (eg Lawson last year and Ellis) - because of priority rules PL team will always have to replace them with a guest and with number of Friday teams it is going to be regular. PL promoters need to assess if constant meetings without Ellis is offset by what he may bring to the team, especially if there is a lack of available guests due to other matches. I know it really disrupted the Bears last year

My take on this is that Havvy is feeling stitched up by Workington/Lakeside last season over the Lawson asset fiasco and then now by a northern track (not Berwick) who are poaching his rider and potential riders by dangling big bucks. This is most likely his stubborn response and a knee jerk reaction I don't know BSPA rules on loans etc. but I can't honestly see how Redcar can cause a "restraint of trade" by refusing to sanction a loan. I'd be willing to take a bet on Kus riding for Berwick (if they do decide to include him) next season
-
So he'll end up remaining a Redcar asset and on loan at Berwick -( if they want to fit him in when Allen is given 7 pt average) - why is everyone getting het up ??
-
come on keep up with the debate check post 335

would need to go to Glasgow to get that

I agree ridiculous valuation by Havelock - GP & World Cup rider, relatively young, PL no 1 and rapid improvement last season - should be 25k minimum.
-
That's a bit pricey - he hasn't ridden since 1983

Totally agree - what is fascination with keeping deals quiet and then announcing announcement will be at some point in the future??? Fine if club has some sort of social/gathering - but not just for the odd name on the internet. NYB aka Grumpy Old Man -
OK - the poster named Starman2006 insists on posting ridiculous questions, which 99% of posters realise do not really need a response, however if original poster does not give a full and frank answer which meets aforementioned Starman's requirements, the aforementioned Starman gets very upset and insists on repeating request for the answer he is looking for - eventually getting in a bad mood. How's that = plain enough - blunt enough??
-
You had better answer - get's a right strop on if question isn't answered to full satisfaction
-
Wasn't being at Redcar that was his problem in 2013, he had other issues and would have struggled whatever track he was with. Delighted to see him overcome these "demons" and get back to where he should be
-
Try it - put a quote up and see how fast you get a sued for libel!
-
With all that's kicking off on Somerset thread about Holder any thoughts/views on whether Allen is coming in on a 5 or 7 point average??
-
No need to panic - he was never remotely near the Bears clutches
-
He now has an EL average so that just gets converted and he has both EL and PL averages to allow double up role.
-
All reports imply he did want away, not because of any issues with Newcastle, but wanting more Sundays free. Are you saying he refused the deal offered to him at Newcastle??
-
Bears website states he wanted a midweek track in order to spend more time with family, so probably his decision to move on
-
Isn't his motive for leaving Newcastle (a Sunday track) still applicable?? Thereby making a return unfeasible.

"Lost his way at Redcar (not the first or the last)" - whilst I don't totally disagree with your statement, it really wouldn't have mattered where Kus rode last season - he wasn't in right place in himself to be a fully committed speedway racer. Delighted he is now back to the rider we all know he can be
