  1. Are those actually Scots? I thought that Rothery was a Cumbrian, and Flint a Nothumbrian. They don't sound Scottish!
  2. I quote: Almost finalised . Apologises for delay but Peter and David been busy moving their business to a factory and we will have it sorted fully in next few days .
  3. Hardly: £150 for a round of golf? £40 (cheap seats) for a football match? Speedway is dirt cheap.
  4. This question has been answered by Laurence Rogers in the Birmingham forum.
  5. The definition of 'contaminated waste' is fairly wide. The same thing happened at Perry Barr stadium when the track was built in 2007: the soil was said to be 'contaminated' and could not be removed from the site. It was piled up to one side; this is what the embankment by the second bend is. Contrariwise, when I was a child (many years ago ) there was a banking all of the way round the track; this was apparently demolished and sold for hardcore! A long time ago ...
  6. Houses are nowhere near: just an industrial estate. There are far more housing near to Cowley stadium.
  7. The same with Birmingham some years ago.
  8. I don't know: last season, he was a breath of fresh air, and was always worth watching. I know that people claim that he is unreliable, but he wasn't for us. We shall see.
  9. We're optimists, except the Wolves/Cradley person, but that's to be expected
  10. Has Paul Starke signed for anyone yet? He is a Midlander.
  11. No Ellis next year; he's not doing the CL allegedly. It's 'two new names', probably a 7 and a 3 point riders at a guess.
  12. Thomsen earned another try next year with his scoring in the last couple of matches: he won heat 1. Judging by Laurence Rogers' comments in the Speedway Star last week, I think that we may be seeing him again next year. Agetoft could ride well, but couldn't do the starts most of the time.
  13. They were both dropped because they were simply not performing. After losing all of the first six matches, the Birmingham promotion had to do something.
  14. I park outside the tile warehouse on the Walsall Road; plenty of room there.
  15. Season ticket holders are very much at the back of the queue: when Birmingham went bust in 2014, I had a ST, but when the company had been wound up, it turned out that the administrators hung on to most of the cash, so we got nothing.
  16. He made himself very unpopular at Birmingham by not trying!
  17. Riders just go for the cheapest one! We had a Prodrive silencer at one time; this was much better quality than the most common type, but cost twice as much so noone bought them! Before you ask, they were selling them off cheap as remaindered stock.
  18. This isn't anything new; I remember in about 1980, the Brummies scored a 5-1 with two sixteen year olds: Neil Evitts was one. Third place was another 16 year old! The one at the back must have felt old ... this was in the 1st Division.
  19. Having looked at Google Maps, I'm not sure where they are going to put these extra houses?
  20. Well, being Just Ordinary John I wasn't aware of that ... looking forward to the fun and enjoying the usual speculation!
  21. What makes you say that? He has been quoted as saying the reverse.
