Latvian Speedway Grand Prix 2007
Mateusz replied to Ghostwalker's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Eastern European time zone - they are one hour later there in Latvia (two hours comparing the UK time zone). -
Both teams you have riders from (Leszno and Wibrator) will get through. I cheer for Rzeszow (despite NP ) as it will be a huge surprise if they beat Wroclaw. The match should be an absolute cracker, Rzeszow haven't lost at their home track so far although most results were between 50-40... Polsat Sport, 6.30 pm

Torun - Tarnow (18.00 cet) 51:41 on aggregate so far Leszno - Czestochowa (19.30) 48:45 Rzeszow - Wroclaw (18.30, live on PolsatSport) 42:48

Sorry if this was mentioned earlier - just read in a local newspaper that Bjerre was suspended by his Swedish club Piraterna. Respect. Wondering if any chairman of any Polish club would have balls to do the same in such case.

Best Gp Race Of All Time?
Mateusz replied to 21st century heathen's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Not the best heat ever but I remember it killed me when I watching this 3 years ago.. About 60 seconds of a constant scream, definitely in the top of my rank of the most stressful heats -
Maybe it's a bit too early for this thread and I really don't wanna jinx the thing either but taking some recent news into consideration, me and others reckon that Tomek's come back, after 4 years in Tarnow, is likely to happen as never before. That's what local rumours have been saying for some time and now it seems to be based on some facts. The latest piece of news is that TG offered Polonia riders his help as for equipment issues for the race-off against ZG. Secondly, from some sources it's known that Tomek is fed up of long journeys between Bydg and Tarnow. Recent accidents can only amplify this.. Thirdly, the Biocol company (bio-petrochemical stuff) whose 20% shares are owned by TG is to aim at some markets in the northern Poland and as we know, money, sponsors etc. it's all much linked with speedway. Fourthly, TG's on very good terms with the current Polonia chairman, Mr Tillinger, who's actually a w@nker but it doesn't matter in this case Sixthly, TG didn't want to ride in the heat 14 of the match Bydgoszcz v Tarnow as he claimed he was a bit tired after previous day's GP tournament etc. but as the result was close, this way Tarnow probably lost a bonus point against Polonia. Last but not least, from the very beginning TG was saying he'd like to finish his career in his hometown. And looks like his time is about to come so when unless now? Needless to say I'll be more than happy if he gets home for the last years of his career. TG & AJ as a pair for the heat 15 sounds brilliant.

"You took Kostek off in a very brutish way. You can't ride like that! What goes round comes around. Soon such thing will (might) happen to you"

Well, at least he shows consistency claiming from the beginning that it was not done on purpose

Time to refresh this thread with some news. 100 tones of surface have been added onto the track. Hope they'll prepare it properly and we'll see some great action like last years. This year there won't be any "speedway party" in a sports hall after the practice on Friday. The organisers decided to spend more money on the whole show on Saturday night though (fireworks etc.). Not the worst decision IMHO as those Friday speedway parties were more dull every yr. And who cares actually - there'll be better things to do on Friday It will be 10th GP in Bydgoszcz, hopefully not the last one (proud to say I've been to every single one ). But Czestochowa and Zielona Gora would like to organise GP too and IMG (BSI or whatever) are going to announce their decision on Friday, Sep 7th. As we know for some time, the other GP in Poland will be held in Leszno. Pros and cons of these 3 cities: Bydg: +the legendary atmosphere and a superb track, +airport, +me -a bit sh!ttie stadium (but going to be rebuilt soon!) Czewa: +great, newly rebuilt stadium -no airport, average nightlife probably Zielona: +nice, renovated stadium (with a low capaity tho') -no airport, poor nightlife I'm afraid (Tommy..?), Falubaz fans would buy all tickets before you found out they were already on sale Keep your fingers crossed for Bydgoszcz. I'll be missing Wroclaw much, even despite their dull track. So many good memories.

Yeah, "jako Zastepstwo Zawodnika (ZZ) za" - "as a Rider Replacement (RR) for".

World U-21 Final - Ostrow, Poland
Mateusz replied to Rico's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Somehow return journeys are usually that part of speedway trips we don't remember much from At that time I'll be revising last things to my exam and it really p!sses off. That was definitely the last exam session I partied away. No resits next yr! -
Czestochowa v Leszno live updates Leszno without Adams, Czewa without Dryml and Richardson. RR for Hampel.

Well, I know he's 24, rides for Lublin (Division 1) and qualified from the semi in Rybnik, winning there as a reserve rider. That's what said it on telly. ..and idiot me, he's just beaten Holta! Now I'm shocked. Holta's on the way to win but might be a tight fight for the silver and bronze medal. Wroclaw track dull as always, anyway. -

He has already won once, what's more in my Bydgoszcz beating T.Gollob by one point 2003 as far as I remember. His today's eventual victory doesn't move me much then.. But Daniel Jeleniewski - who the idiot is he? I'm impressed! -

Couldn't agree more. Back to the topic, at this moment I think it's KK who's gonna be Polish number one after all.. But I'm not his fan at all and I'm not sure if I'd be happy with his future successes in GP. Strange, as I'm quite patriotic but mostly for the reasons mentioned above I can't stand KK sometimes. I grew up on Gollob's successes, started getting into speedway when he was on top - late 90s. And I know there will be never any comparison between joy I feel when Gollob wins and when KK may win. No way it can taste the same. Really would like to see Jarek Hampel achieve something. He's not a Bydgoszcz bloke like Gollob who I could be mad about for years but he is a very clever and nice guy and I wish him all the best.

Scandinavian Speedway Grand Prix

A picture of Gollob's crashed van -
Tarnow v Torun 41:51 Torun are actually in the semis already as they managed to beat Tarnow easily at their track, which was very watered and didn't seem to suit the host at all tonight. Czestochowa v Leszno - rained-off Wroclaw - Rzeszow 48:42 Andersen 4, Pedersen 18 points! A really good result for Rzeszow. Everyone struggles at the Wroclaw patchy track a lot but Rzeszow scored over 40 and are close to make a big surprise! No one has won at Rzeszow so far this season.. It's gonna be a suberb 2nd leg meeting in two weeks.

Have just talked with Jarek Pabijan (Bydgoszcz speedway photographer) who was brave enough to go with the Gollob team and he confirmed they're ok despite rolling over 3 times
