  2. Due to rain two matches have been postponed for the day after the GP (13th May): Torun v Rzeszow Czestochowa v Wroclaw Especially the one in Czestochowa should be very exciting but it takes some time to get there by train
  3. No matter what time we crack the gates, we can always keep a few seats
  4. Alright then.. I'm exhausted, my throat is suffering, my room is covered by conffeti and I'm very upset after this disgraceful defeat but.. a short report for my British mates who have to put up with their boring BEL matches on Sky and cannot normally take part in such a great event like a trip behind the enemy lines - to the derby match. The departure from Bydgoszcz was fixed at 15.30. I arrived to the Polonia stadium around 15.00 and almost everyone had already been there! It was one hundred of us going by two coaches (not very amazing actually but many went by cars too). Police vans arrived a few minutes later, we formed a convoy and set off to Torun. Of course the atmosphere on board was great. Beer, vodka and songs - polite and those less polite ones Our driver was cool and we were singing all the time. Normally it's about 40 mins to Torun but it took us over one hour because of piss-stops After a loud arrival to the village we had to wait quite long until riot police set their formations and let us in. Traditionally there were some problems with smuggling flares etc. but thanks to some connections (there are some decent people in Torun) we managed to bring all the stuff to the cage. Eventually there were about 500 fans from Bydgoszcz (in the cage). And I must admit we were quite loud too. Definitely louder than guys from Torun - at least at the beginning. Time left to the meeting went by quickly and everybody seemed to be more excited than at GP. During the teams' presentation we did our usual show - flares, confetti, special banners, songs etc. It went quite well I think. Unfortunately, our riders were not as good as their fans and they were losing heat by heat.. Bydgoszcz riders miles behind rivals was a horrible view but of course we kept supporting. And local fans from neighbouring areas kept booing at us so the party was on At this point I must admit that Torun Net Fans made some pretty amazing shows using flares, smoke bombs, balloons and other stuff. However, they were at home so they had some 'priviliges'. They were better than us but I was still quite proud of our handful of people in the small cage. In the end we were not that loud as Polonia were rubbish and even the greatest fanatics lost their will to anything. As usually at the derby, there were some unpleasant incidends as well. Some bottles from here and there but it wasn't a big deal actually. However, when some riot guards pacified a few Torun blokes who came up to the cage, a massive crowd of local hools started running to us in the safety strip (between the track and seats). And it looked quite scary for a moment, being honest. Fortunately, the "white helmets" did their job and chased hools away. Later on they beat a few others who had been provoking near the cage. After the match it was a bit like in Zielona Gora last time. Lots of idiots went wild and started running around the track and towards us. But once again security guards reacted properly and beat lots of them up. Anyway, it was a huge mess and the Torun club should be fined, especially for that first situation which interrupted the meeting. The security agency that covered this meeting is based in Bydgoszcz so I guess those boys had some fun chasing Torun hools Actually, all these actions were a bit like an extra boost of adrenalin as the match was boring (you know, gate and then the inside only...) and Polonia were simply hammered. There's no bigger disgrace for Bydgoszcz fans than losing against Torun in such a poor way. The team can lose almost everything in a season but if they win in Torun they are always forgiven. But today we lost everything (only the last heat 4:2 after Zagar's ef) and we had to leave the stadium ashamed... Of course the journey back to Bydgoszcz wasn't that funny After the match we had to wait a really long time in the cage until every bad boy in Torun went to bed and people were simply very tired. Anyway, the trip in itself was successful, nobody got harmed and the atmosphere (especially at the beginning) was just great. Can't wait next year. I took some pictures and made some videos to show this atmosphere, at least a bit. The videos needs encoding so it will be done tomorrow. The photos have been already uploaded onto my Webshots: Torun v Bydgoszcz, 6th May 2007 - photos Got a train to Poznan tomorrow (well, today actually) at 6.30, need to wake up at 5 am... Highest time to have some sleep!
  5. No, you know - it's was a derby match so it had to be a bit spicy Will write a full report from the trip later tonight. Have to update AJ's website now.
  6. Back. In one piece which is good. A great trip and a great show made by fans of both teams. But the result is a disgrace. Only AJ and Davidsson did their job. The rest was rubbish. Of course some riots but nothing serious happened. Will write more and upload some pics and videos later on. Congrats to Zielona Gora
  7. Apator wibrator ! Today we're going to war. The 73th Battle of the Pomorze region. The match begins at 18.30 cet. About 15.30 we set off from the stadium and go to Torun in a convoy of coaches, cars and the police (All things being well) I should be home around 22 and will provide a full report then. It's one of those days you count days to and wait the whole winter for. I missed derby in Torun last year so I'm unbelievably excited now First time we beat them on 15 July 1410 on the fields of Grunwald, last time on 18 July 2006 at the stadium of Apator Torun. Time for another repeat
  8. I don't have the faintest idea. What's more, my friend Mama, who's a speedway authority for me and a few others, hasn't heard about it either... So I reason that such place may even not exist
  9. Only one week now! For some reason I'm looking forward to this GP as hardly ever before. I wish the weather was like today - sunny, about 24 degrees and a cool breeze. Not too hot but warm enough to expect chicks in those tight tops
  10. Ok. I thought about the GP in 1997 as it had been raining the whole day so the track was floating but somehow they managed to sort it out. All vehicles went onto the track (ambulances, vans, ad cars etc.) and finally the meeting started about 10 pm, finished about 1 am. It was 10 years ago, I was 10 and it was my first speedway away I still remember a lot from this. Late 90s were Gollob's best years. I got to Wroclaw by car with my uncle and dad. Almost every car on the way had Bydgoszcz plates and Polonia or Polska scarfs in rear windows In the middle of the journey we encountered a huge tree fallen on the road.. Firemen had their hands full that day so Gollob's white-red army jumped out of their cars and moved the tree off the road together It was a memorable, great trip. We felt like riders on the storm
  11. 59-30. Despite the track, it was a slaughter. Have broken up with my gf as well. What a day, what a wonderful world.. Off to bed.
  12. Without AJ we are nothing. Besides, the track is extremely screwed up. A radio commentator is talking about the track all the time so there must be something wrong with this. No fight, as usually at Wroclaw. I don't know what Wroclaw management want to gain this way, but not crowds for sure.. The attendance about 3000 only. No one wants to watch such sh!ttie meetings every time.. Not a miracle. It's just the best speedway league in the world and such close results happen in matches between the best teams. And Tarnow, not Torun..
  13. I don't think so , but the fight for the 6th place (play-offs) is gonna happen between our teams (and Rzeszow) I'm afraid.
  14. Zielona Gora to w Polsce najwieksza ...... ! Alright, I don't like Leszno either (but fingers crossed for them this time)
  15. AJ is not riding tomorrow in Wroclaw so it's gonna be a real slaugter The hottest meeting takes places in Leszno, of course. A local derby match, 20'000 fans expected, tripled amount of police.. Wish it was on telly! Live updates on SportoweFakty.pl, as always.
  16. And I doubt that Rico remembers much more from SWC '05 Another good website with all SGP results: http://www.speedway.gp.prv.pl (go to "wyniki" subpage)
  17. I've always wondered what those blokes who comment matches on Sky would be saying if they had to comment on a Polish Ekstraliga match... I mean, if there's one or two passes in a BEL meeting they are so overjoyed and excited saying how fantastic the match is etc. So if they had to comment on a really good meeting of Ekstraliga, both Nigel and Kelving would be probably lying fainted in front of their laptops and guys in the comment booth would be having an orgasm...
  18. Polish PolsatSport were to broadcast one match of Elitserien every Tuesday. But as they said yesterday, Swedish TV4 have resigned from showing Elitserien so therefore there'll be no Elitserien on Polsat as there's nobody in Sweden to do the broadcastings... boo!
  19. Yeah, it's colder now. Which of course doesn't mean it's not gonna be warmer at the GP Just check Wroclaw forecasts one or two days before leaving.
  20. Am about 30 then Jagus is 32 (only)! Born 13.09.75 in Torun.
  21. re: Andreas Jonsson "I knew that I had to win that heat. That I had to beat Leigh. And I did my best. Anything I could. I am the skipper to win such heats! But I went too far this time... I remember everything, every moment of this fall and I know I rode too wide... I'm in hospital right now. I have ache in my shoulder and back. Currently we're waiting for a diagnosis based on x-ray. I'll let you know when I get any new information from doctors. As for now I'm very, very bruised and tired. And all I'd like to do is leaving this hospital, having a bath and going to bed..." www.ajracing.se / update: "As it turned out later, nothing's been broken! Shoulder muscles are bruised seriously but thankfully no bone injuries have been diagnosed. AJ's under way home now..." The only positive news for Bydgoszcz fans today...
