Glasgow v Berwick , CL 6/9/19@19-30
screm replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
With Berwick unable to win at Birmingham last Wednesday, then Sheffield unable to win at Edinburgh last night, there`s not quite as much riding on these meetings anymore so if the weather is not the best the probability of a call off is more tempting as the cut off date is important anymore. -
Didn't Berwick transfer Tero's contract to Scunthorpe.
-
Must win for Sheffield if they are to pip Somerset for a play off spot, sadly I see the Tigers play off dreams end tonight.

Sad times especially for the Stoke fans, but giving the standing of speedway these days its probably no surprise.

Correct, you dont an opinion, just a mish mash of letter most of which are totally unintelligible to anyone with any skill of the English language. As I posted yesterday, best left ignored and hopefully he will disappear from the scene.

It must make all kinds of sense for Glasgow to want Berwick in the play offs, financially if for none other.
-
What do you think Best left ignored.
-
You also said you hoped Glasgow would be knocked out of the play offs. As for Cook`s appeal you would think it would be to everyone satisfaction that this gets sorted sooner rather than later for club and rider.

Obviously its all or nothing for Berwick, I can see them getting something from the meeting but not the four points necessary to keep the play off dream alive. -
Why
-
Hang on there, with two full 4pt away wins Berwick are still able to make a play off place with 37pts, Somerset currently sit on 36pts and have finished their fixtures. Granted away wins at Birmingham and Glasgow are unlikely but not impossible.

Thoroughly enjoyed last night as it everything a night at the speedway should have, good atmosphere, big crowd and a bit of controversy, all done just about on time so credit to all for getting through both meetings. Sadly Edinburgh were seen off with relative ease, one gripe I have is seeing riders give up halfway through the race, something that all to often from our visitors. Glasgow was always going to be the tougher of the two meetings and so it proved with Glasgow looking to get something out of the meeting right up to the end. IMO the correct call was giving in HT15 to exclude Craig Cook, he did get a better run down the straight than Jye Etheridge but unfortunately ran out of room and sent the Berwick rider to the fence. Loved to know what was said on the phone between the Glasgow manager and referee as I can't recall a referee leaving his box to talk to a team manager on the centre green and by the looks of things he was inviting out for a pint afterwards. Edinburghs play off dreams ended last night while Berwicks are just about alive, yes it's going to take something strange but where there's life there's hope and we haven't given up quite yet

Not quite sure what your expecting, whoever is doing the rider questions has only a short time and probably only a couple of questions, I mean she isn't there to open a debate. I've seen some of the longer interviews Kiri Bloore does on the SGP page and Twitter and I think she does a good enough job.

Dont see Charlie returning to speedway, she has moved on and up, proving she must've done something right to get the kind of presenting jobs she is doing these days.

Hadn't seen it either but it seems the cut off seems to be extended, one wonders why bother have a cut off in the first place if it is extended season after season.
