screm replied to Noodles's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
SpeedwayGB @SpeedwayGB 28m28 minutes ago Peterborough have confirmed Adam Roynon was taken to hospital with back and arm pain after his crash today - we wish him well. Hopefully he was taken to hospital as a precaution and will be back sooner rather than later. -

Darcy Ward #4⃣3⃣ @D_Dublu_racing 4h4 hours ago I am still waiting for the reasons and paperwork for why this verdict is what it is . Lol

Haven't a clue as to the point your trying to make, but any how, Kozza Smith is the kind of character speedway is missing these days. I hope he has a great season at Glasgow.

What an odd post, the last couple of pages have been a debate on how the club can attract more fans, points for and against, one thing is for sure though, no matter how hard the promotion try to get extra fans through the gate if an employee goes on a forum and calls one of the clubs loyalist fans a cretin, that can undo so much good work. Engage brain before tapping the keyboard.

Berwick have tried most things to try and increase the crowd on a regular bases, sadly most haven't worked, cheaper admission etc. Sadly it might just be that the rest of the World isn't that interested in going to watch speedway anymore.

Thomas Jørgensen @Speedway_Thomas · 3h 3 hours ago Not the best start of new season. I feel pretty battered but no serious injuries. A little concussion and very sore coxcic
-
It was one of the reasons I posted that message on here, there has been little or nothing from the club about the Supporters Club last couple of newsletters, which as it benefits the club must've been an oversight.

Good Morning! Monday again, who's ready for the weekend already? Don't forget we're having a social night this Saturday 14th, 7:30pm in the Black and Gold. There will be some speedway DVDs on show, some quizzes and maybe some special guests! We hope you can come along for a drink and a chat to get us started in the season! ... We will also have membership forms available on the night so if you have never been a member before why not join? It's only £5 for adults and £2.50 for the kids! And if you fancy coming along you can also put your name down for the bus to Ricky's big day! Seats are only £10 for members and £20 for non members. See you then!! Taken from Berwick Supporters Club Facebook page, where it looks like they are attracting many new members.

What Are You Looking Forward To This Season?
screm replied to Robinh88's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Looking forward to going to Prague for the SGP, then to Kings Lynn a couple of weeks later for SWC, also I`m looking forward to a season of no guests and virtually no R/R`s, no serious injuries, good weather and most of all peace and harmony on BSF. -
If you fancy the tiniest of detours.
-
Its exactly 500 miles from Berwick.
-
I`m sure your right, the club would never put out a newsletter with such inaccuracies, it would make them look a bit silly. I mean Danny King has now signed on again at Newcastle, I mean who knew that.
-
I think we all know the answer to that one, and its not yes.
-
I was at the Berwick Rangers game yesterday, the grass looked fine to me, we must now conduct a thorough investigation into the sugar consumption between the riders, our play-off hopes could depend on it.

What The Visa Issues Could Mean For Teams.
screm replied to doners1234's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Yes that's true, but at least they live on the same continent. -
Allegedly, latest comment is "There`s a poster on BSF who wants a team signed so I signed a team, then they wanted a team sponsor so I got one, all the fixtures are out, press & practice is announced, so all the t`s are crossed and i`s dotted". What do you want announced now.

Writing !, till the end of June we might see him as editor, also giving the quality of some of his Tweets the less writing Ward does the better.
-
Berwick had a decent team that season, though you cant help thinking a few riders were beaten before the first race started as they must've been wondering where on earth they were going along the narrow roads to Berrington Lough.

While there`s no doubt the BSPA could've done more surely the biggest hike in costs in the last few seasons has been on equipment, titanium parts, silencers etc, that has lead to riders looking for better contracts from the clubs. Non payment of bonus points was a wrong move as it meant team mate racing against team mate as well as the opposition riders, though surely some clubs must pay bonus points still. Simplifying equipment might be the way forward, Honda did look at that a few seasons ago, but nothing came of it, IMO we need a motorcycle company to mass produce an engine that could be used right across the sport, maybe even to the extent of clubs buying the bikes to supply their riders, sadly that is never likely to see the light of day.
