  1. Dry overnight and dry now, forecast to stay that way for most of the day though showers are around for late afternoon into evening, hopefully they will miss Berwick, though it might be an idea to get with the racing 7pm prompt.
  2. Reading the Speedway Star over the last couple of weeks, the amount of promotions worried about their crowd levels is a alarming, all of them say that costs need to be reduced. We lost Newport last winter,Plymouth look like changing hands,Workington could be up for sale, hopefully we will have at least the same number for next season as this, that,at least would be a start.
  3. A 4pt score away from home is a 4pt score away from, being beat by 10 yards or 10 miles all means the same, its perfectly true to say Coplins scores away from home bare no comparison to his scores at Berwick, but that should not take anything away from the fact that entertainers like Complin are a dying breed in speedway these days and the sport is all the poorer for it.
  4. Berwick 1 Nick Morris 2 Micky Dyer 3 Robin Aspegren 4 David Bellego 5 Seb Alden 6 Klaus Jacobsen 7 Nicki Barrett Redcar 1 Ulrich Ostergaard 2 Carl Wilkinson 3 Kevin Doolan 4 Aaron Summers 5 Matej Kus 6 Max Dilger 7 Jade Mudgway Redcars team looks well capable of winning this meeting, and that would secure their place in the Final of Premier Challenge, and that would mean this is Berwicks last meeting of the season.Weather forecast is decent, which is just aswell as its piddling down right now and has been most of the night.
  5. We`ve probably had better riders at Berwick but I doubt we`ve had a more exciting rider to watch than Complin. You kinda felt sorry sometimes for the rider infront, you knew Complin would always get him round Shielfield. Its fair to say Complin wouldve cut himself a reasonably successful career in the PL,but a full-time job, regular income, especially with a young familly to support was always going to be the right decision. Thank you for your time as a Berwick Bandit.
  6. Thats all well and good, but you must see some of the quotes that were attributed to your father in last fridays article as not excatly helpful,to say he will bulldoze the stadium and see how the fans like that does turn certain people against him.Maybe it was said in the heat of the moment, maybe he regrets his words but all its doing is strengthening the fans against him.
  7. Delighted to hear the Glasgow Tigers will continue next season and hopefully for many seasons to come. The place wouldnt be the same without them.
  8. While it may very well be true that Mr Bowden hasnt had his licence revoked, you`d think the BSPA would do well to look at the comments in this article and consider whether or not Mr Bowden really should be in control of a speedway club,to threaten to bulldoze a stadium seems a very petty way to respond to critisizm on a forum. It may just be the best thing for all concerned that Bowden and Plymouth Speedway go their separate ways.
  9. I saw it last night, again on replay, and I havent changed my opinion, that is that Holder was very lucky to be in the re-run,in any event I dont think it wouldve seen the World Championchip change hands as Pedersen wasnt quick enough all night.
  10. Not a subscriber then. I saw it last night, again on replay, and I havent changed my opinion, that is that Holder was very lucky to be in the re-run,in any event I dont think it wouldve seen the World Championchip change hands as Pedersen wasnt quick enough all night.
  11. Like it or not Chris Holder shouldve been excluded last night, the referee hid behind the first turn ruling which probably got him out of having to make a massive decision, had the accident happened on any other part of the track Holder wouldve gone,no doubt about that.
  12. After all the laps, all the heats and all the rounds Chris Holder comes out on top and is a deserved World Champ.
  13. I think the Edberg signing will suit next years team.
  14. Sign your top two,Ashworth & Alden would be my choices. Then sign your best two reserves,Id like to get one of those reserves to be Bellego, but it looks like his average will be just to high,so Id go for Dyer & Barrett, after that its calculaters out time. I get the point your making, and as I said myself the good thing on signing Albin is that he will become an asset. My point on his signing as to much of a gamble is this,a good number of people have walked away from Berwick Speedway dont go anymore, granted for a variety of reasons,if they return next March and Berwick start getting beat at home by carrying Albin, dont you really see them sticking around,I dont.We have tried the carrying rider way and Im afraid it doesnt work the majority of the time. I agree with you on this "riders on a false average",a riders average is just that, and if we are looking at Wilkinson & Schramm, then we really are in trouble.
  15. Nicki Pedersen Emil Sayfutdinov Chris Holder Martin Vacilik 1st Nicki Pedersen 2nd Chris Holder 3rd Creg Hancock 4th Emil Sayfutdinov 5th Tomasz Gollob 6th Jason Crump 7th Freddie Lindgren 8th Andreas Jonsson
  16. And what a couple of crackers they were,if you look back at my posts when King signed I thought it was a wrong move, and the less said about Jacobsen the better.
  17. Both of whom have struggled,Mudgway not in this years team dropped by Glasgow,to be picked up by Redcar weeks later, and Sike has hardly been seen anywhere near a speedway track. Its a gamble alright, and that IMO should be reason enough to steer clear of this signing. The plus side of course is that it adds to our asset base, but other than that Albins signing makes no sense.Dick Barrie of course will witter on about giving him a chance, but I dont think the time is right to be taking gambles.
  18. Agreed but Albins average isnt going to change for next season,I didnt see enough when he was here to suggest he will do anything but struggle, should he be given a tea spot next year.
  19. We really need to have a re-think as far as Albin is concerned IMO.
  20. Looking at Micheal Max on saturday, our offer has been accepted.
  21. The Albin signing was a good idea at the time, any chance to increase your asset base is normally a good chance, but things have changed. We have brought in Barrett & Dyer, both of whom need to be considered before Albin, like I said earlier there are better alternatives than Albin,to sign Albin after the season we have had would be a massive mistake IMO,but if Barrie`s said he`s signed then that might be that.
  22. No Mr Barrie is a nonentity to me,anyway he seems to be out new talent scout,God help us.
  23. Ah the old conspiracy theory, rain, sun, under strength team,or something else.Maybe the Glasgow riders are all keen golfers and they wanted home in tie to watch the Ryder Cup. Get in the hole.
