ultimately it is Tolley who is tracking them in the first place, yes he trusted team building to a delusional wally

Hopefully it won't be too long before Tolley qualifies for his own promoters license and the guy whose license the club is built around can be shown the door. THEN a team might get built properly, maybe even with 7 regular riders. You never know.

I am pleased to read that NT didn't try and defend the diabolical performances of 5 of our riders on Wednesday.
He must be fuming ..... I can only compliment his passion and commitment.
It's because of this that I still will attend.....
Paradoxically, his anger/dismay is a positive, that's come out of a negative!
I can see that NT is determined to get Bham speedway right..... I believe that 'next' season we will have a team that will give us something to shout about!
The damage this season was done with the selection of the starting 7....
I'm hopeful.

Last year Tolley said they had a play-off team, this year Tolley said they had a play-off team. Maybe he rates some riders too highly, or underestimates opposition teams. But most considered Birmingham has a weak team signed this year.

If I was a Brummies fan, I'd take any talk of a play-off side with a pinch of salt & just be happy to have a club to support. Hopefully enough fans feel that way to keep the club alive?

I see that Glasgow have just signed Vadim Tarasenko on an assessed 5.00 average. Would it have been beyond Birmingham's wit or imagination (or finances) to have made that signing first? Morris and Nielsen need replacing or are we just happy to plod along with guests to the end of the season?

So then Vadim, there are 2 clubs needing your services and want to sign you, Birmingham or loads of money Glasgow. Don't take to long thinking about it.

Remember Ian brannan said on bsn something along the lines of Birmingham make play offs their potential signings would make them favourites? I'm thinking tarasenko might've been one of them. Our press release said another team tried to sign him but had visa issues

Tolley does have a promoter's licence, but as usual you are talking nonsense.

How do you know that team won't win the league? We don't know the points limit yet!

I'm assuming they won't win the league because Birmingham and winning trophies in the same sentence seems odd!

Is he talking nonsense?

Really?

The reported facts suggest not.

Nigel has been quoted in Speedway Star by the sponsors own journalists

Lost a load last season

Put more in this season despite saying he couldn't do it year after year.

Said he needed 1000 to break even

Average gates around 500.

Publically stated earlier in season his company that makes badges is covering shortfall on a weekly basis. That's a lot of badges, does he supply Chinese Army and Indian Cricket Supporters Club.

No obvious sign of massive new sponsor uptake.

Maybe he has a wealthy sleeping partner(S)

His own quoted figures suggest he is over 6 figures down and invested.

It's impossible to knock the guys commitment but sanity and economics suggest he can't carry on year after year.

As for a competitive team, we await one but that would just increase losses.

We got very very close to signing several very high profile riders, signings which would  have shocked you all. The lack of meetings on offer proved to be the biggest stumbling block.
yes, Birmingham were more than aware that Tarasenko was available on a 5 point average. …..,

Nigel trolley was  correct, if we had got one of possibly two of the signings over the line, we would have been a threat to anyone, home or away.

snd , yes, the promotion would have been able to find the proposed signings.

That's a sad state of affairs but surely the fans want a 7-man team of their own, don't they? Something that they've only experienced two or three times in a 2-year period.

Probably only if it makes them stronger? I don't think Brummies fans will be bothered given the scores being posted by the guests they're using

All of which may be true, but it doesn't contradict what I said.

No point signing anyone who has to fly in or out

Air Traffic Control has broken. No flights.

This shambolic Government turning us in to North Korea, oh.... at least they can keep people out... and in

Bumped into Nigel Tolley in Cardiff, very approachable. I got the feeling he’s in this for the journey and does have political support beyond the greyhound track if that goes.

A man who puts his money where his mouth is for the good of speedway well done to him !
