Gave him engines and mechanics, and also helped him with the mental side of the sport...

Toughened him up a fair bit I would suggest...

And, as for Brennan, decent progression this season..

A fair few average bashing Ht 15's yet has posted a decent figure, especially often carrying a poor team...

I think it’s fair to say that some riders respond well to riding at certain tracks, and others don’t. Same goes for coaching methods and equipment. Having the means for investment is also a huge factor. There’s no magic formula, otherwise everybody would follow it.

that 0.05 improvement is massive in real progress terms. 
Will be a steal on that average next season.

His average last year was helped by having a 1 whole month at reserve.

You’re being deliberately misleading here using those averages which we all know don’t tell the full story because of the way averages work. Probably because just like Geoffrey, you don’t want to admit that Brennan has stepped up a level since leaving Belle Vue. As always the devil is in the detail. His average for the 2023 season at Belle Vue is near identical to his average over all meetings in 2024 for Birmingham. But take away the bonus points from sitting behind Kurtz and Bewley and the GSA’s show in 2023 he achieved 5.87, this year his GSA over all meetings is 6.50. 
 

There’s also a world of difference between riding without pressure at reserve/2,3,4 with Bewley and Kurtz doing the heavy lifting at the top end, than literally carrying the whole team (before Lindgren came in a few weeks ago) at either 1 or 5 and being the main source of points for your team. 
 

The boy has stepped it up a level this year, it’s ok to hold your hands up and accept it even if he’s done it at another club other than your beloved Belle Vue.

Dan and Brady were doing the heavy lifting - in front of him. Having a rider whether team mate or opponent in front of you, has a detrimental effect on your average. Not having big hitter team mates means you move up a position in the races you are now in. Case in point, his average has dropped since Freddie joined as he is now behind him in many races. 

Tom “carried” the team at 5 (not 1) for just four meetings before Freddie’s arrival. The seven meetings prior to this saw him ride in his usual second string role. 

The devil is indeed in the detail.

I’d also add that he’ll be in demand for next year so Birmingham may have a battle on their hands. Especially for the clubs that go top heavy and have heavy hitters at 1 and 5. Brennan on a 6 point average slotting in to the middle order and away from the demands of 1 and 5, would be a terrific signing. Hope Ipswich go in for him personally.

As our season has finished early yet again, maybe Buster should reintroduce the Pride Of The East in early October after the play offs have finished. 

Might get a good selection of riders and could even consider a Saturday night or Sunday afternoon to get a decent crowd before the long winter nights...

The idea sounds good but the calibre of rider determines the attendance. If there's no GP / Ekstraliga rider's in it, nobody turns up

I’d say the chances of that happening is 0.00%  

he’d sooner concentrate on what makes him better money ie Stock Cars
