The way you worded it did not come across that way. That’s fair enough and makes sense to why he couldn’t ride on Saturday, so why not just say that anyway. Maybe that would have been a good idea?
-
You were implying and trying to be clever. I then asked you a question, you can reply to that instead of trying to be a smart arse.

So now you are saying he missed a meeting to be a mechanic? If that’s correct no guest facility should have been allowed and a ban should be issued for withholding services.

Premiership 2027 - Are You Interested??
Tim G replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I do agree with you as it annoys me that my team Oxford have rarely ran the original 1 to 7 that was announced for the last 2 seasons. My interest as definitely waned due to knowing we are not going to be competitive. Maybe the championship needs a rule that a team can only have one rider riding in Polands top flight that is at an under 21. Then work the fixtures so these riders can turn up on a Friday at the away tracks. It’s been ridiculous how many away meetings Mitch has missed but a lot of that is down to poor fixture planning. It would be a major shame if British youngsters like Cairns,Rushen wouldn’t be riding in the Championship because they wouldn’t be able to make every meeting because they are progressing internationally in our sport. -

Problem with McDairmid he is riding in the top flight in Poland and is also in the SGP2 meetings so means he will miss loads of Friday’s. With so many championship teams running on a Friday a rider like that is unfortunate going to miss lots of meetings. Next year, Cairns and Rushen will probably have the same issue so would you also not sign them? -
Yes, hadn’t realised it was the same clown who keeps baiting people about Coventry and is just a wind up merchant. Probably best not to post after a few beers watching the football.

Screen may have had more natural talent but was nowhere close to Woffy as an overall package as a rider. Smith is nowhere close to Woffy. Havelock had a good couple of years but faded pretty quickly but won a weakened world final on a patchy track. Tatum and Morton were good riders but never managed to get it done on the big stage. Loram and Collins were both more exciting to watch but only won one world title. Can’t say much about Craven as never saw him race. Woffy is our greatest ever rider and was at the top of his game for numerous years.

Oxford Cheetahs v Redcar Bears 24/6/26 19:30
Tim G replied to NumberEight's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If the Redcar reserves turn up and ride like Glasgow’s did this will be difficult for Oxford. Oxford are so weak without Riss and will need a performance from Rowe if they are to win. -
Oxford Cheetahs v Glasgow Tigers 17/6/26 19:30

You can do that but how many spectators won’t bother with the speedway and just watch the football at home or in the pub? -
Oxford Cheetahs v Glasgow Tigers 17/6/26 19:30

World Cup fixtures were already known before the speedway fixtures were released, it’s bloody crazy to run this meeting. Big reason why the most successful club in the championship aren’t running tonight and are having a week off. -

Ridiculous decision to run a meeting tonight, think you are spot on with the small gathering analogy. Meeting should never have been allocated to run this day. -
Was excellent, also really enjoying the Sportbike class.

Unipart is still in use.

Eddie Kennett in for Riss for 28 days.

Pairs and CLRC
Tim G replied to LisaColette's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
I expect the pairs being held at Poole will get a much bigger crowd then if it was being held at the NSS so it’s a sensible business decision. -
Oxford vs Poole KOC QF 13/05/26 1st leg
Tim G replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Unipart, agreement has been reached to allow parking again. -
It was in the CLRC in which he was a late call up for, think he had 6 points from his first 3 rides. He was never the same rider in the playoffs after that. He was in a bit of a purple patch at the time, big score at Glasgow, top scored for the opposition in Richard Lawson’s testimonial and only dropped 1 point in two legs against Redcar in the KO cup. Got injured for Team GB against the USA at the start of the 2025 season and then it all went wrong at Kings Lynn and Glasgow as he looked shot of confidence.
-
Impressive, the lad has talent.
-
Excellent statement from the club tonight, all good news around the future of the team, car parking and Erik Riss.

Very rare a motorcycle racer will be out for 3 months with a broken collarbone. Moto GP racers have ridden the same weekend they have done the break. Would be surprised if he’s out for more than 6 weeks if it’s a straight break with no complications
-
He’s riding for a team that’s run by the people who run the British speedway world team cup team.
