Agree, I think we’re going to have 1 less home meeting this year as the Border Trophy wasn’t on the calendar. 
I’d be very surprised if we got 40pts at Redcar next Friday. 
 

Anyone else think the track is far too slick? Other than the first couple of bends, the racing is so boring.

Did Cook not say last week that he had asked for the track to be slicker? I thought they would have kept it with a bit dirt for home track advantage!

Think he said consistent, Jamie likes to dawdle along in the tractor, like most on here I fear another short season with plenty free Saturday nights

No one wants to watch that crap every week. They’ve had 3 good crowds due to away fans, but it’ll be interesting to see it against Poole. Only entertainment was Charles Wright v the football pitch.

Maybe the rules are to blame for this more than Edinburgh.

As for Berwick, I think 2 matches isn't enough for any rider to prove their worth, unless Bastien said he was struggling & wanted to be replaced, think Berwick should've given him longer in the team.

If Berwick replaced Hagon they'd have 5.42 available.

At reserve i'd expect him to pick up his scores. In the top 5 can't see him scoring more than what he's doing currently.

Averages normally change around 23rd of each month becoming effective on 1st of each month. When next averages come out Kildermand will i think still be on assessed average of 8.50 as he will only have had 5 out of the 6 meetings required to get a proper average. Cookie and Kemps averages could possibly go up as well.

But he’s not? And that was quite clear for all to see. I could say I’m fit to ride, for everyone’s sake I’d hope Dickson wouldn’t put me at 3 though.

I watched the Edinburgh meeting  on BSN and thought Cookie said slicker and more consistent.

It seems all riders prefer slick tracks mores the pity, only Bomber says he'd like more shale on track.

I've witnessed riders who struggle to deal with dirt but look comfortable when tracks are slick. I would imagine the best gaters prefer slick as such conditions appear to make it harder to overtake. In my opinion too grippy a track isn't great while sometimes slicker conditions can produce good racing . Tracks prepared with enough dirt to produce a good outside line along with adequate moisture level to prevent a track becoming too slick seems to produce better racing in my subjective view. Consistent tracks, prepared with the sole aim of facilitating entertaining racing should be the ultimate aim because fans pay their money to be entertained.

Most of the meetings I've seen live this year have been processional mostly. But then maybe the same could be said in previous campaigns when tracks had more material.

Glasgow seem to have it right with the track prep and the riders who are willing to race.

The main factor at Glasgow looks like the shape and width. It will always be difficult at Shielfield to replicate this

i agree it was just an observation from watching matches at a few different places.

Personally I think its mainly down to rider skill or lack of. The best meeting I ever seen at Shielfield was the round of the U21 World Final a few years back. I think as Fromafar eludes to alot of the modern day riders are as quick as each other when in front but couldnt pass wind behind.
