Talking to taxi drivers from and to the airport in Krakow they have grown up using grass track and speedway bikes on the many practice tracks that are available and surprisingly those I spoke to on a recent trip to Poland were well aware of the current speedway riders and BM as well as a few others which shows that the sport has some following amongst Joe Public. Not sure the reciprocal situation would arise in the UK.

Bartek was voted "Sports Personality Of The Year" a few years ago...

You only have to see the national companies advertising on TV using Speedway riders to see how these lads are well known amongst the wider sports  watching community...

Similar to how the top riders in the 70's over here were recognised as "top sportsmen" at the time..

As I say, Poland won't screw up the sport like the UK promoters did, and still do...

His bike was fighting him from the gate

Luckily Magic didn't land on his head but flipped over..

PHB out of control.....

Racing hard and racing reckless is a fine line..

Really ? In no way was that anything other than a racing accident

Agreed. I’d say it’s the track more than anything personally. That was his last race anyway so clearly just yellow card to show they done something about it!! How stupid!

Magic going out to get a point for the team

A lot of inexperienced riders in this meeting in challenging conditions.

Harsh Yellow for PHB as it's clearly down to the track as we've seen various riders pick up on that part of the track.

Hansen and Pawlicki have almost fenced themselves.

A "bit" reckless...

He wasn't in control from quite a way out, and needs to protect his fellow riders who cannot see him...

Gives 100℅ which is what we love, but needs to learn a little track craft...

Laying it down might have been the best result...
