The trouble is when one of the top five have an off night and I can see Flint or Boughen having a few.

So are Poole going to go through the season with every rider on top of their game with no off nights?

Indeed, I think we may be better served with Dan T going out at No4, with Leon at 3, giving us a stronger run in to the end of the meeting.

How much of a difference does that make? If you're stronger in 14, then you're weaker in 12.

I rather move the riders around based on the opposition, when a team has a stronger rider at 4, put Dan T or Howarth at 4, otherwise have Flint at 4?

Once Ashton gets comfortable again I think Flint would be better at 2, be similar to the end of 2023 with Tom and Bomber and puts less pressure on Flint and lets him ride to his potential like he is at Sheffield at the moment. It was only for one race they were together but Leon and Dan looked to want similar bits of track while I think Boughen and Dan will be a bit more seperate.

Given that Flint has already announced he wants to be Glasgow number one, I don't see why they would need to shy him away from a "pressure position" not that I think he's in one (riding at 1&5 would be pressure). That being said, there's no reason why a team manager can't swap riders round based on tracks / opposition / who's on form / who rides well together?

There's not many that swap around the riding order there days.

No I am expecting some riders will have off nights but we have a rider at reserve who should be able to take extra rides and get points. I think Hodder has potential to be that rider with a little improvement.

I know what you mean but you are more likely to have a tactical ride against you in ht14 than ht12 IMO and if you are already vulnerable, less likelihood of seeing it off.

Lets see how the season goes.

Cami Brown rarely picks a rider who has ridden in heat 14 for the nominated heat. Wrong but that's what he often does. Claus Vissing rode at 4 and rarely got the nod regardless of how well he had ridden.

I do understand that logic, although could mean the tac subs would come in heat 12 instead? Of course if Glasgow only went 6 up after heat 13, then having Howarth or Dan T at 4 covers heat 14.

Seeing Berwick have Borke at 3 & Kemp at 4, I'd be moving Flint to 3 for those fixtures.

The home team has to declare their line-up prior to the away team so either way for Friday at least Dickson could always line-up Kemp against Flint

You never know for sure, but of Kemp is at 4 every meeting & the opposition team manager moves a stronger rider to 4 to counter that, I fully expect Berwick to leave the side as it is & not "counter the counter".

Sorry for taking over the Glasgow vs Edinburgh thread with Berwick, but once a discussion heads in a different direction, it would be odd answering on a different thread!

Think that’s harsh on Edinburgh, they were probably the team with the biggest variables pre season but certainly one with plenty of potential and they’ve delivered on it tonight.

In the same breath I would agree it’s poor from Glasgow, a team that on paper looked as good/better than most.

Think that's harsh on Berwick who will be fielding Kildemand, Cook and Kemp in their top 3. Sam Hagon is also a lot better than both Glasgow reserves so i'll expect him to take at least 5 rides tonight. The Tigers have a very tough task on their hands.

[Edit] For some reason your comment about Berwick in its entirety never came up in this response post for some reason. This forum is glitchy af
